The photo below of the oldest Luckinbill offspring, Simon, who's following in his grandfather's footsteps as a drummer and guitarist. He also operates the following superfood website:

http://www.greenrootunderground.stirsite.com/page/page/3813967.htm

I totally believe in what he's doing and plan to make some purchases from him as his prices are pretty decent. One of the products he sells, Gogi berry powder, is something I take every day. It's offers one of the highest concentrations of antioxidants of any known food. Since I began enriching my diet with these superfoods, I have pretty much been free of sickness. It's been a very, very long time since I got sick. As long as I keep three things in check -- diet, sleep and exercise -- I don't get sick. And I attribute a lot of the diet part of the equation to foods like Gogi Berry.

On another topic, I have confirmed that "Desiree" (now 18) is indeed Desi Jr's grandchild. She's the daughter of Desi Jr's long-lost daughter, Julia Howe (now 38). And I have been able to confirm that Desiree, who is in college now, is very much a part his life and has been accepted by the whole family, including Lucie's family. Desiree seems to be close to Desi Jr's daughter Haley (her aunt) and is in touch with the Luckinbill kids. It's a nice, happy ending. Too bad Lucy didn't try to get to know Julia before it was too late. Desiree, of course, wasn't born until several months after Lucy died.

Yeah, supposedly that will expand your life expectancy significantly, as long as you really know what you're doing and get in all your protein. And yes, Desi's look will continue on for years to come through his grandkids. I think you can see him in Joe and Kate as well, though Joe really looks a lot like his father. A very slim Desi indeed. Desi was thick compared to Sy. Desi would probably say he was healthy compared to Sy.

I don't think I could live my life eating raw food. I can see making that part of a healthy diet, but not my sole source of eating.

My guess would be thats the WD Griffith classic INTOLERANCE (1916), WDs follow-up to BIRTH OF A NATION (1915)....BOAN was actually a film that glorified the KKK (It was based on the book, the Klansman); when Birth came out, it caused riots all over the USA and the unfortunate rebirth of the Klan....Intolerance was a film WD was more-or-less forced to make, to regain his reputation.

I've also seen that Life magazine cover a million times, but just now noticed for the first time that they misspelled Lucie Arnaz's name, right there on the cover!

Regarding that photo of Lucy, Desi and the kids, with Lucy and Desi dressed as Santa, that must have been taken when they filmed the 1956 Christmas episode. Now you can see what Lucie Arnaz looked like during the 6th season, like the five year-old girl she was at the time. How Bart Andrews could have mistaken that tall girl in the "Ricardos Dedicate a Statue" for a five year-old Lucie Arnaz is beyond me.

Why was Lucie's name spelled "Lucie" as opposed to "Lucy"?

Desi wanted to name their daughter after Lucy, but Lucy didn't want to do that. She actually wanted to name her Susan. "Lucie" was a compromise. Desi got his wish to name her after her mother, while Lucy got her wish for her child not to have the identical name.

They showed her dressing room and her in these bright red things and red hair and a yellow fur coat hanging behind her, very glamorous and very ritzy, she looked incredible in those. I saw it either here or at The Lounge recently, in black and white, a different shot of her that day but on a bed, in the LIFE issue is was a divan that she's reclining on.

Same guy who had that picture also had this (thought it was interesting);

"N.Y. over Memorial Day Weekend, 2005, I was priveleged to get a "private tour" of Lucy's home by the current owners, Bill and Mary Rapaport. They bought the house and are restoring it to its 1920s glory, when Lucy and her family lived there. Then it's being donated to the Lucy-Desi Museum. The picture shows a portion of the original linoleum floor pattern from the master bedroom upstairs, where Lucy's mother, DeDe, slept. It was a thrill to walk through the house where Lucy lived, and her dreams of having a career in show business began."

In my opinion, Lucy was pretty. She wasn't a natural beauty, and it was obvious that she needed a team to achieve the final product. They did a good job though. Comparing her to Elizabeth Taylor is insane, but to be expected at an ILL board. At the height of their careers, Liz was one of the most beautiful women in the world. Lucy, not so much. Lucy's a dead ringer for my 7th grade math teacher. Liz was ill so Lucy aged better but that's not saying much. They both aged BAD. You can't smoke and drink your life away and expect to look like Sophia Loren when you're 75. Now there's a dame who took care of herself.

Excuse me, but you're being extremely one sided. Why? I've done nothing to you, and I've done nothing but stand up to a bully who has been abundantly clear that he hates Lucille Ball, hates her shows, and doesn't care for her fans. You actually offended me very much a couple days ago when he started calling me names and you "laughed" about it, and seemed to be cheering him on. I decided to keep quiet about it then, but I'm not going to let you come after me and pin this on me, and not the Lucy hater. Do you have some clique thing going on? Here are a few of his choice quotes, and offensive remarks to Splain in the last couple of days:

Maybe you just don't like women, or you only go for sloppy drunk Commie broads, with bright red clown wigs, who need three hours in the make-up room, and 10 pounds of it to boot. That's it, you like old hags

our beloved hero, the Communist Lucy was a rotten mother, and an even lousier grandmother. Desi Jr., same deal. He allowed his mother make everyone disown his own daughter. For what, fear of low ratings on her TV show? Her career had been on the skids for over a decade at that point anyway

Just what the hell do you get out of that? This board is supposed to be for fans, not for someone who's sole purpose seems to be making fun of those of us who like these shows. Just because he throws in a couple pretend posts today to try to appear legitimate, that doesn't wash after all those attacks. I've been around here way longer than you or Brian. And so has Splain, who is absolutely a fan and a tremendous contributor. Always has been. HE'S the one you should be supporting.

I've always wonderedwhat she thought about that clause in her contract that said she had to be at least (*i think it was) 10 lbs* heavier than Lucy at all times (Couldnt have made her very happy! )

Hey Brian made one thread ( a news story) and you all started in with him. What is he supposed to do just take it? Just cut all the crap out.

I bet she wasn't happy abt it. It all ties in with her being unhappy having been cast as the wife of "that man William Frawley." She was in therapy while working on ILL, partly because of the stress of working alongside him. I guess it would look so fake seeing this gorgeous, thin woman married to this old, chunky man. :cow: See Mikey, now I am using the cow :cow::lol:

I think that probably helped in her resentment against William Frawley.

I have to admit, I didn't even know they hated each other until I read it in a book in the 1980's and I was shocked. They were both great actors in that show. Their resentment toward each other probably even added some zip to their characters.

Oh yeah. THE HEAT WAS ON.

There is a scene where Ethel had to kiss Fred. Vivian refused. Vivian improvised by putting her face up close to Williams and there was a sound effects person who made the sound of a smooch.

I know I've talked about the Joyce DeWitt-Suzanne Somers feud before but it seems like Viv and Williams feud was a lot worst.
