Joyce missed the episode Stanley's Hotline so they had the actress who played Jack's girlfriend,Linda staying in the apartment until Janet came home from visiting her parents

You're kidding! I always thought she was the sensible one. Just for that episode, though, seems strange.

I agree. I find that hard to believe considering she was against it when Suzanne held out for more money.

No, you're exactly right. She was being a hypocrite.

Except, that was a season 3 episode, and Suzanne didn't demand a pay raise until season 5. So, after the whole Suzanne Somers incident occurred, maybe Joyce decided not to be greedy?

Yeah, but what happened though was The producers and Joyce agreed on a raise and the producers tried to take back the raise that they promised her. The reason was that in negotiating with Audra Lindley and Norman Fell for the Ropers, it cost more money than the Producers thought so they tried to take back the raise that they previous promised Joyce. So she fought back. :)

The Producers were cheap. TC brought a lot of money into ABC and the actors were treated like crap. :(

Did she ever get the pay raise?

Did she ever get the pay raise?

Yes she did, on the follow day after the producers took her pay raise away, she went to see ABC's President Tony Thomopoulos, and he reinstated her pay raise. Joyce wanted to go back to work the following day, but her agents told her to wait until they had Thomopoulos's agreement in writing. By that time, it was the day of the taping of that week's episode and Joyce missed at least a couple days of rehersal so the producers decided to tape that episode guest starring Anne Schedeen. :)

What I don't understand is during Three's Company's 4th season, NRW stopped producing The Jeffersons (which was now entering it's 6th season).

Wouldn't NRW have more money to offer the cast if they asked for it besides the measly $5,000 raise that Ted Bergman mentioned he would initially offer Suzanne Somers when the whole negotiation fiasco began?

Yeah you would think so. But The Producers of Three's Company comes across to me as people who like to control their actors and are kind of cheap with salaries for a popular TV show. :)

What i Don't Get Is That I Have Heard The Jeffersons Cast Say Good Thing About NRW But The Three's Company Cast Had Some Not So Good Things To Say About Nichol,Ross And West.
So It Seem That NRW Treated The Jeffersons Cast Better Then The Three's Company Cast.

I'm guessing that the Jeffersons was their first show under their production team, so they had to be good to their actors. Once they gained experience as producers and knew how to "play the game" better, they could become cheap and controlling.

Another reason might be is that the cast of the Jefferson were older and more experience in the TV business so they were harder to control. Another reason might be is that the cast of Jefferson were of a different generation that believed that the producers are always right and the cast of Three's Company were younger and believe that they should have a say in the show too. Especially Joyce and Suzanne who came of age during the women's right movement who believes women should have the same right as men and everybody should speak their mind. I got a feeling the producers of Three's Company didn't like that too well. :)

I did not say that right. What I meant to say is that the cast of Jeffersons were older and from a different generation who believes that the producers are always right and the cast of Jefferson were easier for the producers to control. Three's Company cast were from a younger generation and they believe that they have a right to say what's on their mind and that the producers aren't always right. Espeically Joyce and Suzanne who came of age during the women's movement and believes that women have the same rights as men and that they should speak their minds. I got a feeling the Producers of "Three's Company" didn't like that to well. :)
