People in western times and pioneer days rarely had an opportunity to take a bath. When they did, it was in a free-standing tub in the middle of the room. Someone had to fill the tub with buckets and kettles.
My question is: How did they empty the tub? Since one gallon of water weighs over 8 pounds, it would be impossible to move the tub.
If they had to fill the tub and empty it by buckets, no wonder baths were only occasional. omg:
