Yes, this year has gone by very fast. Especially the summer. It's hard to believe it's September already.

Next month I plan to get an early start on my procrastinating, which will give me plenty of time to ignore my Christmas shopping until late December.

btw folks, do you people in america and in canada celebrate any other holidays, apart from halloween, right up to xmas in december?

i am thinking of buying a few things such as tinsle, wrapping paper, bows to wrap the presents up and getting all this done by the end of this month. speaking of xmas, are there any shops in the US which sell xmas decorations, trees, ornaments, wrapping etc right now?

I think I have Halloween on my mind more than Christmas (then again, I start prepping for Halloween very early, lol).

But, yeah, I'll probably start my gift hunting in early November. I have too many birthdays to worry about in September.

2007 has surely flown by. It's more of a "Get ready for 2008" feeling to me actually. Anyways, once September rolls by, that's when I start saving up for Christmas. I always like to have my shopping done once December comes around because then it just becomes crazy to shop in all the stores. Last year about 90% of my shopping was done online and I think I'm going to shop online again this year just beacause it was so much easier and faster for me!! And might I add cheaper!! ;)

Well I save up money till 2 weeks before x mas and I go to the stores and buy myself nice things and presents for other people! I can't wait till xmas!

Christmas is a lot of work for me. My eldest daughter was born on that day so it is double presents and double work. Celebrate Christmas and have a birthday party at the same time. :faint:

I NEVER EVER do my Christmas shopping in December. I hate crowds and waiting. I have a suitcase I use. When I'm shopping during the year and I see something that a friend or relative would like I buy it and store it in the suitcase. I buy my wrapping paper, ribbons the January before when it's 75% off.

I really like to chill during December and watch sitcom eps with holiday themes and my fav holiday movies.

I usually buy gifts only for my brother & my mom, but I might be starting on a new job in the next weeks, and that means more money! :D Depending on what I save I'll buy presents for some of my cousins. I loove Christmas time, the crowded stores, the food, and the jolly atmosphere that is present everywhere :)

i understand where you're coming from, as christmas isn't about the commercialisation of the festive tradition and the hype surrounding the purchasing of presents but of the true spirit of xmas, which is one of the most important things, alongside being grateful for the things you have and the people we share it with; i.e. friends and family. i personally love christmas because it is not like easter or any of those other holidays in the calendar which last for one day and is then forgotten afterwards.

Yeah, in the USA , Thanksgiving comes in late November, but, here in Canada it's the first Monday of October. The reason being, that, because of our weather, the fall harvest is about a month earlier than in the USA, so our TG harvest festival is earlier too.

i see where you are coming from. for some people, xmas can be often an unhappy, miserable and lonely time. like for instance spending the holidays alone, or having lost a relative and so therefore i realise that not everyone will be in the festive spirit. there are those who love xmas, and those who don't and those that don't have their reasons, inasmuch as those who do

This year has flown by, I'm looking foward to 08 simply because its my graduation year, and this new years eve better be better that last years, I was so sick on new years eve, really bad. I'm looking foward to Christmas because we get a real tree and I love all the Christmas smells and all. This year for Thanksgiving I wont be home sadly, my moms making us go to my sister in laws in NC and I really dont wanna go. but w/e it was either go for Christmas or Thanksgiving and I like beiing at home on Christmas

I cant wait till Halloween or Xmas, now that ive got two little ones. Ive already got Lors costume and I have a lot of their presents already too.

This year has flown by for me too. By Thanksgiving I will have my baby already since he's due November 4th. It's going to be an exciting last couple of months this year for me. I have got to find him a cute little comfy Christmas outfit and find time to buy a few gifts for people between now and November.

Congrats on the baby! My sis is due Nov. 24 so I have to find him some cute outfits as well, being that I'm the only aunt who can spoil him right now. Good luck to ya!:)

I can understand that. This will be the 6th Christmas I've had since my Mom's death and none of them feel great. I just go through the motions and Christmas used to be my favorite Holiday too.

I understand what you mean about a fatherless Christmas. My children's father was shot and killed in a shootout July 6th of this year. This will be the first Christmas that we will spend without him. To make things worst my son saw it when it happened. We miss him everyday and sometimes I still cry but Christmas he will definetly be missed. Were going to go to his grave and put flowers on it.
