since TSL is one of the Disney's highest-rated shows, clearly something went on behind the scenes.

Reports are saying that the main reason the show was cancelled was because of Dylan's album. Disney just wouldn't allow him on the show anymore. Kind of sad really.

I would have been really surprised if Disney extended it past 100 episodes.

That's what I was thinking. I hate Disney. >.<

I think, though, if they went past 100 episodes, ratings would have begun to dip . . . just my opinion.

I don't know...They're talking about it on TV.Com so the rumor is out there.

What album? Is Dylan a music artist now?

I've been reading that it's not unusual for Disney shows to stop at 60 or 65 shows, and not many make it beyond that.

If you think about it, it really isn't that unusual today for the network to go past 65. Back in the days, their shows like Lizzie McGuire and Even Stevens stopped at 65, for some reason.

Disney used to always stop at 65 episodes. But that doesn't seem to always be the case anymore. "That's So Raven" went past 65 episodes. I have to admit, I figured this show would, too. So I'm a little surprised to hear this news.

And when I first heard that Dylan was getting an album, I assumed it was a Disney thing. They're always trying to make singers out of their actors.

There is no album. It was just extremely innocent "harmless" fun.

well That's So Raven and Kim Possible made it to 100 so i guess 100 is the limit (TSL will have 100 by the end of this season)

So, you're saying non of their shows can go past 100 episodes?

For now. Since hannah montana is doing so well, it might be allowed to exceed 100.

i really don't get that. If the show's doing well, and the actors would like to keep doing more seasons, why not keep going? The show is still going to make money for Disney, and fans will be satisfied. There really should just not be a limit to the number of episodes. In the Suite Life's case, though, they seem fit on not wanting another season, due to Dylan's decision to not stick with Disney.

I knew the album thing was a joke, but I wanted to know if the cancelling rumor was true. I read on tv.com that Season 3 will be the last. There is some talk of a spin-off on the forum boards there without Carey or Maddie....not sure how I feel about that. I don't know how true these are, but people are saying something about Moseby having to raise the kids while Carey pursues a music career?? Again, I don't know how true these are, so don't quote me on this...I was just reading the forums.

The final episodes will not air until sometime in '08, but I heard Kim Rhodes (Carey Martin) will not be in some of the final episodes of TSL due to maternity leave.

Really? What I keep reading through the HSM tubes is that there will be a Brenda Song and Ashley Tisdale spinoff. Then again, Ashley is more bankable to Disney because of HSM.

I read that Ashley does not want to return.
Although I would LOVE for an Ashley/Brenda spin-off.
She's doing movies and the cartoon voice for Disney's newest show: Phineas and Ferb..

I already knew about Phineas and Ferb, but everybody that watched the HSM2 premiere knew about it.
