-Tony had to quit because angela and her husband michael were getting back together but he came back.
-Angela was fired by wallace and mcwade (the advertizing agency) but she ended up making her own agency.
The Mary Tyler Moore Show:
-Mary was going to quit her job to take another job but lou and the others realized how much they would miss mary and lou gave mary a raise to stay.

Ricky quit the job at the Tropicana when he thought he could pick his place "anywhere in town".
Alice:
The girls quit. Well, really Alice quit for all three of them when she felt Mel should be paying them more money.

Barney Miller: Chano, Wojo and Harris were laid off once during a budget crunch. They were back on duty by the end of the episode.
Bob Newhart Show: Howard was laid off from the airline and ended up joining Bob's out of work workshop. Then he was hired by a different airline. Carol quit a couple of times but always came back.

It seemed like every other episode Larry was firing Darrin until Samantha came to the resuce.
Carol quit the final season to search for something more meaningful. She ended up working for Eliot Carlin and that did not work out. She tried to come back but Bob did not take her back for the reason that she wanted to do something more meaningful with her life so it was the opportunity to.

Chandler quit his job on "Friends"
Alex quit and got a job as a waiter on "Taxi" once.
On "Cheers" once; Sam fired Rebbeca for burning the bar down; but then took her back.
And earlier; on another episode; she quit; then returned later.
Frasier, Roz, and Bulldog were all laid off once on "Frasier".
on "The King of Queens" once, Doug, and Deacon were out of work temporarily when IPS went on strike.
on "All in the Family" once, Archies union went on strike.

Fred Flintstone was fired or quit his job on The Flintstones.
Ralph Kramden quit his job and Alice got it back for him on The Honeymooners.
Red Foreman was laid off his job on That 70's Show.
Sean Finnerty quit his job to when he bought a bar on Grounded For Life.
Lamont quit his job with Sanford And Son to work at another junkyard, then quit to go back to work for his Father.
Lamont also worked for a department store and got fired cause of Fred.

Rachel quit Central Perk because she thought she was getting this other great job.
Ross was told to take a sabbatical because of his 'rage'.
on "The King of Queens" once, Doug, and Deacon were out of work temporarily when IPS went on strike.
Doug also quit IPS because he thought he was going to get a job with FedEx.
Carrie quit her secretary job and was out of work for a bit.
sunshinefizzy 07-30-2007, 03:19 PM On 3's, Jack kept getting fired from Mr. Angelino. If that even counts because he kept getting rehired. Janet also quit many times but kept coming back until she got a job teaching aerobics. Yeah, on that show many people either kept quiting or getting fired.

*Roseanne quit her job at the plastics factory at the end of the first season.
*Jesse and Joey quit the advertising agency in the season four of Full House.
*Jamie got fired from here first job at an advertising office in Mad About You.
*Whitley got fired from the art agency in A Different World.

James 07-31-2007, 03:39 AM On Perfect Strangers Larry and Balki quit working at Ritz Discount for "management trainee" positions at Fat Marsha's restaurant. (They went back to Ritz eventually.)
On The Wonder Years Norma was fired after one day on the job in the attendance office at RFK Junior High, I believe.
On Coach Hayden fired Dauber from his assistant coaching position with the Orlando Breakers (this was after the gang left Minnesota State) after he claimed he was abducted by aliens, only to rehire him by the end of the episode.
Laverne and Shirley (as well as Lenny and Squiggy) were fired from the Shotz brewery on Laverne and Shirley. They all moved to California! (Weren't Laverne and Shirley fired from Bardwell's Department Store during the second episode of the final season? :confused: )
I believe Carol Foster-Lambert was fired after one day as the sports commentator on the local television station on Step By Step.
On The Brady Bunch Peter was fired by the bike store, and Marcia was let go in favor of Jan at Haskell's, the ice cream parlor. Greg was fired after losing Mike's documents while working for him at the architectural firm, only to be rehired at the end of the episode.

On All In The Family Gloria got let go from her job at the department store because she was pregnant.

Adamantium 11-30-2007, 01:55 AM NewsRadio - In the third season episode "Review" Matthew quits because Dave won't let him do his story on Dilbert. He ends up downstairs working in the new coffeeshop. However, by the end of the episode, Matthew is back at WNYX.
NewsRadio - There's a fourth season story arch, where Matthew was fired by the efficiency expert (played by Lauren Graham). He keeps coming back to the office, however, just to hang out and eventually he gets rehired.
Ellen - At the end of the fourth season, Ellen quits Buy the Book because her boss is uncomfortable with her being gay and he won't let her babysit his daughters anymore.
Wings - Before Lowell left the show for good at the beginning of the seventh season, he quit in a season four episode. However, he expected Joe and Roy to give him a raise, but they didn't. By the end of the episode, Lowell was back.
Chocoholic 11-30-2007, 04:37 PM Homer Simpson has quit or been fired from the nuclear plant quite a few times. He's also had many other jobs that he gave up or was fired from.

Once on "CHEERS" Sam fired Rebbeca in a fit of anger when he learned that she burned down the bar. (how many others here felt sorry for her when Sam was yelling at her?)
On "BEWITCHED" Larry would sometimes fire Darrin; only to say later "Oh, I was only kidding!" or something like that.:rolleyes: :rolleyes:
Alex quit the Sunshine Cab Co. once on "TAXI".
Bobby quit Ewing Oil on "DALLAS" once.
Barney quit once on "THE ANDY GRIFFITH SHOW"
Another time on "TAGS" Wally fired Gomer.
On "GET SMART" once, 99 quit Control, but at the end of the episode she revealed to Max that she didn't really.
Didn't Tony quit NASA once on "I DREAM OF JEANNIE"?
