It's not like a DVD that I can Watch again. and My life is not that boring for me to READ a book again so where else would it be when I finish but the bottom of the trash can???-lol

Give them to Goodwill or Salvation Army - or do you have a Half Price Books in the Philly area? There are places that will take used books for cash.

my fellow Tennants sometimes leave stuff they no longer want in the lobby/vestibule of my building, books, old videos, etc. in the past i have left a book or two there.

it's sort of like a free yard sale.

I keep 'em. I'll eventually reread them, loan my copy to someone or give it to the used bookstore around the corner from where I live.

I strongly advise not throwing out the books. See if you can donate them to the library nearest you... Libraries always need books. :)

Schools, too. As a teacher, I'm always looking for more books for my classroom. Even if it's a book that doesn't fit into any certain curricula or whatnot, I use them sometimes in art projects and, being an inner-city school, I have some students who really can't afford books or whatnot, so I like to give them out to kids when I find something that matches their interests.

I keep my books. I started collecting them last year and I'll never get rid of them and I don't loan them out anymore.

I usually keep em. When I have time I like to skim through em again. Actually depending on how much I liked the book.

Unless it's a gift from my husband, I usually pass books on to someone. There's always someone interested in reading a good book.

I keep mine, but I have so many that I want to donate them or something. I have way too many.

You think anyone will be interested in reading a book about the best articles of Philly Sportswriter Bill Conlin?-lol

You can donate them to your local library, I've done that a few times but I usually keep the books that I really like.

You can donate them to a library. Never throw books away unless they're tore beyond recognition.

I've done this. There aren't really any used bookstores in Toledo.

I take them to my local book store they give me a dollar per book or more if it's a best seller. Then I usually get another book. Don't throw them away that's such a waste of information. :nonono:

I keep mine. I re-read books all the time. Or I'll lend them to my mom to read, if I think it's something she'll like. I agree with everyone else, don't throw it away. Either give it to someone or donate it to your library. You could even sell it on Ebay and make a few bucks. LOL

Even then, put them in the RECYCLE BIN, never just throw them out, landfills are overflowing as it is. :nonono:

Books are overkill on Ebay, Unless you have something rare or signed by a prominent author then you're probably wasting your time. If a book does sell, The seller usually makes their profit from the shipping.

This is true. I just bought 3 books on half.com and all of the books were under $2, but shipping for each one was $3.49.

I keep my books. Sometimes I reread them, sometimes I let other people read them, but...I like books. I have a ridiculous number of books that I refuse to throw away or get rid of.

I keep mine too. I have two places in my room where I store books, hehe! I'll usually reread anything that I have, or let my mom read it.

You're absolutely right.

I know if you have any first editions of Stephen King's books from before he became widely known, these are HUGE sellers.

Never, never trash a book. Or burn a book. It's like trashing or burning the author. When you write a book, you put a piece of who you are into writing. Such a wealth of information that we take for granted... It's too precious to simply toss away.

Yes, I'm fanatical that way. But that's why book burners are scum in my eyes.
