View Full Version : Ungrateful teen receives a Lexus, throws a tantrum
Ireneparalegal 06-28-2007, 01:51 PM    Those stupid parents who try to give their children all the materialistic things in the world only end up with children like this:
http://www.aolvideoblog.com/2007/06/26/girl-gets-lexus-yells-at-mom/
Sadly, from what I've seen of My Super Sweet Sixteen, this behavior is the rule, not the exception on that show. It glorifies spoiled, rich brats and gives pre-teens the idea that behaving like pampered divas is okay. These "sweet 16" parties are more lavish than even any wedding I've ever been to, yet these little brats want more, more, more. It's disgusting.
I'd be a fan of that show if, instead of throwing them a gigantic birthday party, they would strand these girls in a third-world country with nothing but the clothes on their backs for two weeks.
Courtnee 06-28-2007, 02:22 PM I blame the parents and all those spoiled, skinny "actresses" in hollywood.
Girls need more GOOD role models. We have to learn to teach young girls that this kind of behavior is NOT okay.
Why can't we frown upon this behavior anymore?

EmoJoe 06-28-2007, 02:27 PM i just saw that the other night. stupid girl.
gidgetgrape 06-28-2007, 02:31 PM I wish someone would "ruin my life" and give me a car.
Courtnee 06-28-2007, 02:48 PM I wish someone would "ruin my life" and give me a car.
 me, too.
Ireneparalegal 06-28-2007, 02:52 PM I think mom needs to hand her a handful of bus passes.
Fleet 06-28-2007, 03:31 PM I would have given it back, too. :D
And ask for a '60s car... :)
Max Whittaker 06-28-2007, 03:37 PM I think mom needs to hand her a handful of bus passes.
I would have given back the car and left her in the parking lot with a dollar for the bus. That would give her plenty of time to think her life over.
Poor girl's not going to get terribly far in this world.

I want to know what 15 year old needs a brand new 2007 Lexus to begin with?
catlover79 06-28-2007, 03:56 PM The kid doesn't want the car!? I'LL TAKE IT!!!!
everett552 06-28-2007, 03:58 PM That chile definately need Jesus! She has some serious issues and a slap in her fat trap for embrassing her mother like that! Ungrate is an understatement!
MonarC 06-28-2007, 04:01 PM I think parents who give their kids everything they want and more are just setting them up for disapointment late on in life. They might not be able to find a mate who can put up with their constant material needs. Plus they will never feel good enough about themselves if they can't get the newest trends or the most expensive cars. Material things mean nothing. It's who you are as a person that matters.

You said it. Seeing this tantrum reminds me of Becky Conner on Roseanne throwing that hissy fit and screaming at her Dad when the bike shop went under.  Seems to me kids (which is what they are) don't know the REAL WORLD and the real problems that await them. If they throw tantrums over frivolous things, can you imagine when they don't get the job they want? They don't get the perfect mate? How will they handle a major illness? What will happen when they are dealt real painful issues in life? Geez.
Hollow 06-28-2007, 05:28 PM well you never know to what degree the parent can be blamed. judging by the mother's reaction in the video, however, it doesn't look like it can be much.
the girl is going to be embarrassed about that someday, though.
Superstar 06-28-2007, 05:59 PM she needs a good kick up the arse.
Fleet 06-28-2007, 06:20 PM Wait... I changed my mind.
I would have taken it, sold it, and use the money to buy a '60s American car!
Something like the one in the photo ('69 Dodge Coronet R/T 440) or maybe a '69 Chevelle SS 396 or a '69 Dodge Charger 440-Magnum. :)

exactly. parents don't always teach their kids about concepts they need to adapt to (like gratitude) and sometimes even unconsciously work towards adaptation of opposite concepts, and it becomes a problem. kids can't always learn those things on their own until something extreme happens, like they end up living on the street.
Chelsea 06-28-2007, 06:33 PM Pizza toppings on a sesame seed bun here folks...if that spoiled rotten little brat doesn't want the Lexus, I'll gladly take it.

Mikado 06-28-2007, 10:01 PM No no no...a rusted out old Chevy Vega (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chevrolet_Vega)
NO...give her MY car!!! ( That would REALLY teach her a lesson!! )

Hollow 06-28-2007, 10:17 PM well on a more positive note i found a video of the whole episode, she certainly acts like a brat all throughout it, but after that tantrum she calms down and calls the party back on (don't think she got the car back though), and at the end hugs and thanks her mom.

Yup Dawson, those cars were mainly the work of former AMC design director Dick Teague, also known as "The King of Crap!" ;) He knew JUST how to make a car look atrocious!
If anything I hope this girl's friends who seemed really embarrased by her tantrum and the complete abuse the Mother took a good hard look at why they even bother to spend any time with such a spoiled, mean person.
Luckily when I was growing up I never knew anyone so ungrateful.

ABlairican Pie 06-29-2007, 01:03 AM Here's what that mom needs to do:
Take back that "crappy" excuse for a birthday present, and get her what will REALLY go swell at that party, a TRUE vintage luxury car:
1976 AMC Pacer:
Zoneboy 06-29-2007, 02:23 AM ^ Either that or this luxurious 1976 AMC Gremlin.

Nothing like driving a fishbowl. :D
I still think the Matador was the ugliest. I don't quite know why...not like the Pacer and Gremlin were gorgeous.
Mistress Slap 06-29-2007, 04:05 AM Stupid, spoiled brat. I'd love to put her in a situation where she had to work hard just to be able to survive.
Sharop 06-29-2007, 07:06 AM Girls need more GOOD role models.
The Bee Gees are/were good role models, because they're kind and friendly.
And River Phoenix (apart from his drug use) supported some good causes and seemed a decent enough person, so I'd say he was a pretty good role model too.
platinumblondelife 06-29-2007, 02:28 PM Still not as bad as Sophie lol.
Ireneparalegal 06-29-2007, 03:39 PM Why that mother gave her a car AFTER that tantrum bewilders me. That mother needs a good kick in the butt as well.
Those pacer cars look like footballs.
Corolla 06-30-2007, 03:00 PM We don't know what kids go through these days. I mean... getting a Lexus early?!?!?!?!?!?
The sheer horror of the thought.
Oh yeah, I'm on dialup. It took me a good 20 minutes to load that video, but I waited.
mc_light1202 06-30-2007, 10:49 PM Am I the only one still wondering what the point is of even giving a 15 year old a car? Where I live, you can't even learn to drive until you are 15 1/2. All she can do is look at it.
Frischman_Fan 07-01-2007, 12:18 AM It's very sad what that girl did. And it wasn't even to drive around in...it was to "practice" with until she got her license and then she'd get a better car. But I also read that the car was wrecked by her friends! Boy, Karma is certainly a b****!!
I used to nanny for this 3 year old girl who got whatever she wanted so she won't throw a tantrum. What killed me was that she'd throw one anyway and when I finally had a talk with her mother I told her that it wasn't good to give her everything because when she grew up she'd be disappointed in life and the mother was all "Um....no I don't think she's going to be that way." WTF?!?!

I had a car at 14 and couldn't drive it. But then it was also a wreck bought at a salvage yard and it didn't get fixed for a year. But I still had a car because that's just how my dad is. He likes cars.

I babysat a spoiled little girl too. OMG, I wanted to pull my hair out.
