Can you imagine eating some of the exotic dishes served at the Clampetts? It was a combination of Fear Factor and Survivor combined.
Dinner may include:
Stuffed Owl (Barn Owl)
Gopher Gravy
Hog Jowls
Deep fried possum
Crawdads

I wouldn't mind trying Granny's deviled Hawk eggs. I'd like to try her deserts like the homemade pies. I don't think I would like to eat dinner with the Clampetts.
I'd pass on dinner with the Clampetts too. Even though I was brought up in the south, I've never eaten any of that stuff.

No way, no day would I eat their fiddles.
I may. I don't see anything in that list I wouldn't at least sample. But the only one I know I have eaten before is crawdads. They're not bad; just remove the meat from the tail by peeling it, and eat it. I live in Texas, not too far from Cajun country, so crawfish are a choice on many buffets, even one where I sometimes dine which is supposed to be Chinese  . In SW Louisiana I have seen people eating them by the bucketfulls, because there is so little meat in a single one.
I have also eaten rattlesnake, another choice in which there is very little meat. And it does-- believe it or not-- taste like chicken. I don't think even the Clampetts mention eating rattlers.

I was wondering how they got that stuff so they could fix it for dinner. They can't buy most of it in the stores and they don't live in the hills so they can go out and hunt it.

Pearl sent them "care packages" with food from back home. I'm surprised they never cooked and ate any of Ellie May's critters though!!

How did they eat some of those things while living in the city? You couldn't buy them in the stores and you can't hunt them in Beverely Hills.

You can actually buy chitterlings and things like that in stores, and gizzards, etc...
If you look in stores you can find more than you think.
I would try their food, it was probably actually good, the tadpole soup and gopher gravy did NOT sound too good though.
My grandma' mother used to cook possum I heard.
