View Full Version : June 6th: Sonny's (Walking Tall) 4th Anniversary At SO

Sonny (aka "Walking Tall") joined Sitcoms Online on June 6, 2003, which makes tomorrow his 4th anniversary of posting here with us. Anyone who knows Sonny (as I've been lucky to over the last two years) knows that he is as loyal a friend as anyone could ask for and is someone you can always go to if you have a problem. I think everyone will agree with me that this site would not be the same without him. :)

Happy Anniversary, Sonny. party:

Sonny, it's hard to believe we've known each other for four years. In that time, we've been through a lot. Remember how shy you used to be, when Tara first invited you to her random thread and we all said hello to each other? Playin' on the game board, the months when the Random board was gone and we went over to chat on different sitcom boards, TKM, Raven, our threads filled to the brim with wild, crazy and fun times, staying up late.. late.. laaaaate, trying to think up names for those threads, Tara's love for Ron Glass, Allison telling us about Vicki Lawrence/Trading Spaces, me and my love for Bill Bixby and Jon-Erik Hexum, Avatars Anonymous and so much more. You were one of my best friends and although we've had some really hard times, I will always be grateful for the friendship you gave to me.. I'm also glad that we're ok now. :)

So, may you have one hell of an anniversary. Here's to many more years, Sonny. :)

Awww Kate that' had me tearing up. :) It brought back so many memories. I think one of the reasons I'm not shy around here anymore is because of you. You just made me feel right at home over in Random and I thank you so much. We've had a lot of fun on these boards. I remember the times when all of us would stay up till 5 in the morning just talking and we didn't even realize it had gotten that late. Time just flew. One time I think all of us talked Friday through Sunday without much of a break. The best anniversary gift I could have is talking to you and Justin again. I missed you guys. :)

And I was the one that started it, I think. Because of my sig... I would always say "Cheers behind the couch!" (no idea why  ) and things just took off from there. I went off to post on one of the boards and they were wondering where I'd gone off to. When I came back, I said I'd been behind a tree or something. So it was like, "Huh? I don't see a tree. What are you talking about?"

Oh I know. You definately should've, Katie. It was so cool once you stopped by to say hello, then stayed with us. :)

Sonny, I never told you this (and this goes for the rest of ya) you made 2003-2004, a very special time in my life. I never laughed (nor, do I cry) so much in my life. I am so glad that I can call of you, FRIENDS; and a shout out to Allison, it was a great pleasure of meeting you in person. I still cannot believe that drunk woman thought we were TOGHETHER?, HELLO!; and that you also got the chance to see LA and one of my favorite bands; next time I see them, I will tell them, HELLO, for you. I am sure, they would appreicate it:) ; also, a shot out to Kate..ha ha ha, girl, I loved talking to you on the phone; not only are you funny as hell, but damn, but can I have your accent?

Once again, THANK YOU, Sonny, for being such a kind and special person; and congrats for being one of SO's most beloved members...:bighug: :yourock:

Awwwww!! Thanks so much, Tara. :) 2003-2004 was a special time in my life, too. I'm glad I can, too. :) Y'all had me laughing so friggin' hard I thought my stomach would burst, had tears streaming down my cheeks more often than I can count and I also cried. I will always be thankful for each of you. When I first wished Sonny Happy Anniversary, I found myself getting choked up too, thinking about all those memories we've shared.

 It goes without saying that you are one hilarious woman, Tara. I loved talking on the phone with you, too! As for my accent? Now that's a compliment, girl. Of course! ;)

I feel the same way about you and everybody else too. In 2002-2003 I had a real bad year. My Mom died and I was just so depressed. And then I met all of you and you all made me feel so much better. I couldn't wait for 11pm to come so I could talk to all of you. You were definately the highlight of my day. I'm glad that I can call each of you my Friends. You're welcome, Sonny, and I want you to know that I still consider you a great friend, too.:)

I consider you one of my best friends too Kate :) And I also can not thank you enough for everything you did for me. Yeah, I had frequent recurring flashbacks to that night in the ICU wing for a LONG time afterwards (when he killed himself, he died but still had brain activity, so they had him hooked up to life support in the ICU wing that night it happened)... After he died, I had maybe one or two dreams about him. Within the last several years, I've had some more. It was difficult for me to think about him or to allow myself to grief.. now it's easier because I've had to work through it. I can understand you having those flashbacks and keeping to yourself. Thanks, Kate. :) I'm glad to hear that you are having a nice time.:) It has been a looooong time since I've heard someone say "y'all". :D

Yeah, when you said you'd talk about it when you were ready I definately understood. It made me realize that not only have I only told one other person around here, but that I... really haven't talked about my dad, ever. :(

After he died, I had maybe one or two dreams about him. Within the last several years, I've had some more. It was difficult for me to think about him or to allow myself to grief.. now it's easier because I've had to work through it. I can understand you having those flashbacks and keeping to yourself. Yeah, it's been 24 years for me and I remember that day just as if it happened yesterday.

I'm so sorry about your dad, Kate. :( I can't even begin to imagine what that must have been like. You much have only been like nine years old. :(

Mike, even though you weren't in the group when we all first met and everything, I wouldn't say y'all arrived too late. You did finally go over to meet and talk to everybody after I told you about 'em and after two years, you're still there. All of you can continue making those kinds of memories. :)

You'll never believe this Kate. About a month ago I was thinking that if I had one wish it would be for the entire group to get together just for one night so we all could have that great feeling we all had once upon a time. A few members aren't here but most of us are and it is a great feeling. I never thought it would happen.

 I remember that! You were really excited to see the show again after so long, weren't you? Speaking of posting pictures of Tom Selleck, do you remember how much fun we had uploading in the gallery when TJ first had it put up? We must've been in there for hours. Oh yeah, you felt pretty bad about that. I also remember when it was me, you and Allison and you'd take a break so you could make those egg mcmuffins, then you'd come back and say, "Damn! There's a bug in here. I can't get rid of it. It just flew at my head." And Allison would try to hand you a fly swatter, telling us about having to chase her cat around all over the place. I mean, I felt bad and everything, but it still made me laugh so hard.
I had a ball posting pictures over there. I've been posting a lot over there still. I've been adding a lot of pictures from hard to find tv shows and TJ even added the different galleries for them. Man I remember that. I still make Egg McMuffins but not as much as I used to. I know how you feel because sometimes I would just get the giggles while posting with you guys and I had no idea why.

Are you serious, Sonny? This is the first time in a long time that I've seen most of us together.. in one thread.. posting away like we used to. "Once upon a time" - that's a great way to put it. Yeah, it is. I never thought I'd see it, I can tell you that much! I'm surprised y'all don't do that late into the night these days. I mean, I know everybody's busy and whatnot, but like I told Mike.. you can still make those kinds of memories, so maybe one day. :)

I did, too. :) It's been.. psh, not even sure when I was in there last, but it's great that you're still posting a lot. Yeah, the last few times I upload pictures I noticed that Voyagers! had been added - I.. was.. shocked. So cool to see its own gallery, and that he's added lots of others. :) Yeah, I would read a post and then before I knew it, my giggle box was turned over.

Yea maybe one day. :) I think most everybody is busy right now doing other things. I'm not even on at night as much as I used to be. I come on and then leave and then come back. I think we talked ourselves out.

Oh my gosh, I remember that now. I've lost two people in my life to suicide, my father and a friend of mine that I'd known since elementary school. I've never mentioned that here, I don't think, so when I went back to read your post in the Complaint Dept. I understood right away. It's not something you ever get over, that much I can relate to as well. :(

I'm so glad you know that I didn't mean to be insensitive, and that you had Dustin to talk to. Yeah, I know you wouldn't do that be insensitive, either. :)
I am real sorry to hear that of your father. I can't fathom what that must have been like for you. I am sorry that anyone has to endure that. :(

Ha, i still feel bad leaving Allison alone, but I warned her a head of time, that I am a hyper person, and it is a challenge for me to sit still for any length of time; and that couple that we shared a table with:rolleyes: the husband (boyfriend) whatever he was, kept staring at my boobs the entire night, too. I wore this red, dress over a pair of jeans; the dress was too big for my bust area, and kept slipping off..ha ha, I even had this chick, whom, I know, ask if I had my breasts done, because even though the top did not fit well, I guess it made my chest area look larger; it was a fun (if, not an interesting night, to say the least)

You've got ants in your pants, girl. Sounds like a very interesting night.

I know what you mean. Now I find myself saying, "Wow, you're older than he was. What would we say to each other if we could? What would it be like if we just had five minutes? What would he be doing today?" Soooooo many questions. You go from there to here in the blink of an eye.
