View Full Version : Warrant issued for Dub Wackerhagen
wiseguy182 05-30-2007, 06:38 AM I couldn't find this on the boards anywhere, so I thought I'd mention it. A warrant has been issued for Dub Wackerhagen's arrest.

sorry if it's old news, but it's news to me.
DearBunny 05-30-2007, 10:02 AM Thanks for the update. I think about this case sometimes and wonder if those two will ever be found. The page you linked did mention that Dub could be suicidal, so one has to wonder if maybe he could have killed Chance and then took his own life.
LooksLikeCRicci 05-30-2007, 06:44 PM You know, I wonder the same thing. However, I want to say that I had a lengthy discussion with other folks on the board who felt that Dub could have easily created a new identity and slipped away to another part of the country. As I recall, he was a trucker so it is plausible that he could have done this. Even though I feel that Dub should be arrested for his girlfriend's death, I would rather see him and Chance living under assumed names as opposed to them both being dead.
kadrmas15 06-01-2007, 04:55 AM Well that is good a warrant has been issued for Dub. Dub sounds like a guy who clearly is a control freak and has a paranoid personality. I do think that Dub and Chance are probably and hopefully for Chance's sake alive although they are I am assumung living under new identities in a completely different part of the country as CRicci said. Dub seems like the kind of guy that could pull something like that off and be successful hiding for years.
baloony 04-12-2012, 10:51 AM Hopefully, Dub's conscience will eat at him enough to where he will come out of hiding and come forward. But, that's along shot at best.:( I just pray that he didn't lose it and kill Chance also.
MissFit29 04-12-2012, 12:13 PM I've always wondered if Chance actually shot Latricia, and Dub is hiding him from authorities.

That's a good point. Chance and Latricia did not get along, so it's possible that Chance could have done something in the heat of an argument.

I doubt that an eleven year old could hold the gun stable enough to pop off six rounds into Latricia...Dub killed her.

Yeah, once sure. SIX times? That's premeditated and it seems to have been done while she was in bed, right? Sounds like Dub exploded and did this. It has crime of passion written all over it.

Exactly. I'm not even sure if Chance could have even held the gun up to fire it, due to his young age.

Its unlikely, but not impossible. Nine year olds are not typically helpless, and from what I understand Chance was a pretty big boy for his age.
Not only that, but the gun used to kill Letricia was a .22, and they typically don't have a lot of recoil.
Like I said, its far more likely Dub did it, but I wouldn't completely rule out Chance.

I haven't watched the segment in a while, but I did remember the caliber was pretty small. I think a boy Chance's size and age could definitely handle a .22; it's pretty much like a little hunting rifle or something I'm sure plenty of young boys are introduced to at an early age.
Like I said, its far more likely Dub did it, but I wouldn't completely rule out Chance.
I think that possibly would be a good explanation as to why the two have been so good at hiding out. A father might be willing to exert effort for his son that he wouldn't necessarily exert for himself.

Yes but Latricia was shot six times. That's a bit excessive for an eleven year old, don't you think? This just screams a crime of passion, would an eleven year old have that much rage to shoot someone six times?
ILikeTurtles 04-16-2012, 06:01 PM One key fact about the case that I think is odd was the location of where the truck was found, and how it was considered a bad section of Austin, TX. Is it possible that Dub drove the truck there in the hope that someone might steal it, eliminating evidence?
mwcarolina 04-16-2012, 07:35 PM this is such a hard case to answer because of the fact that Dub and Chance havent been seen since the murder. it's not a shock they charged him because he does look guilty, but the question remains. is he alive??? if we find him, we will have answers.

Actually Chance was nine from what I can remember. And yeah its unlikely I admit, but not impossible.
What amazes me about this case is how Dub has been able to keep them both hidden this long. I'm figuring they about have to be in Mexico if they are alive.

I think there's a possibility that they are both dead. I believe the segment stated there was blood found in Dub's pickup truck that didn't belong to Latricia.
