View Full Version : Does anyone else here HATE the heat?

I despise the :censored: heat with a passion. :sarah:

I always loved it when I was on vacation or at a beach, pool or whatever...but for everyday living, I just hate it. When I used to work, even though my work and car had AC, the heat was still everywhere else.

Monday, it was almost 90 degrees here, and we haven't put our ACs and fans out yet, so it was awful. I felt anxious and stressed. Today, it's a cool 55, and I'm loving it.

Is there anyone else who hates the heat as much as I do? It gives me a feeling of almost claustrophia or something. I've been this way my entire adult life. I'm dreading this summer, as always

Who's with me here? :grrbald:

I actually dont mind it at all. I cant wait to spend my summer sweating in the nice and hot heat at the beach. Although the heat here on the island in the summer isn't comparable to say Florida's. Last August we went to Orlando at times it was unbearable.

My husband's sister loves the heat. It can't get hot enough for her. She even loves the humidity. That always struck me as strange, but to each his own I guess.

I love the heat. I can't handle cold weather. The slightest chill makes me cranky.

Humidity rarely bothers me, unless I'm on the coast.

Give me a 105 degree day over a 35 degree day, and I'm a happy camper!

In the summer, I rarely use the AC.

Janice, move here to coastal part of Southern California, it is rarely, (super) warm here:) even in the summer time.
Sounds like Heaven. Can I live with you? ;)

My brother is like me...he hates the heat, but hates the brutual New England winters here even more. Early last year, he moved to San Diego, and he loves it. I give him a lot of credit. He's 37. He got a job transfer. He didn't know a soul out there, but he took the plunge. He's made a lot of friends there. A brave move on his part, I think. I do miss him though, a lot.

He's coming back for a few weeks next month, and staying with us for a
week. I haven't seen him in 15 months, so I'm excited about it. :)

You really need to express your feelings a bit more. Are you saying the heat bothers you?

I LOVE THE HEAT, BRING IT ON BABY, BRING IT ON. We are having a very warm day and it is expected to get HOTTER EACH DAY TIL SUNDAY!!!! Whoo Hoo...

Tara, aren't you forgetting our BLAZING HEAT THIS PAST SUMMER? Even though we are right here on the beach, it was HOT HOT HOT!!!!!!

Las Vegas heat is much better. It's a dry heat, not humid like here.

Last summer here was like living in hell, I swear. It actually got to 112 one day here in my city - the thermostat cracked 100 here many times, and it was rarely ever under 90 from May through July of last year. The temps in South Dakota were horrible, though... One town there actually cracked 120 degrees. It was horribly DRY heat. I think I would've been more comfortable in the Death Valley last summer, lol.

I don't mind the hot temps so much otherwise, though. I live in an area where I feel the extremes every year - extreme low and extreme high temps. So I'm used to it. :)

You may want to reconsider Death Valley.
Last summer, the Max/Min temps for the following two days were:

July 24-------- 126/100
July 25-------- 125/102

well, the ideal weather is obviously in the 70s, but i'd take the heat over the cold ANY day.

the heat and humidity is the worst time of the year.

I don't care for the heat & humidity either, and it can get really bad here in July & August. I always want to go somewhere cool in those months.

Well I live in TX so we kinda get use to heat LOL. If it's a dry heat I don't mind, but when it's humid and hot that's when my nerves get frazzled, everything pisses me off LOL

I can't stand the heat! I'm more of a cool, overcast weather person :D There's nothing I can't more than sweating profusely (plus, I hate wearing shorts).

I would prefer extreme cold to extreme heat, if you are cold you can grab a sweater or a blanket, if you are hot you are pretty much hooped.

I cant stand the heat either. I predict this will be a very hot summer due to the up and down weather we've had all year.

I can't stand the Heat...Wade is the most ann...

Oh, wait, wrong Heat. Actually I love hot weather. Dry, hot weather is the best...I want to move to the desert some day. Rain, cool weather, and clouds depress me.

I don't really mind the heat, it's the humidity that drives me crazy. Here in Oregon we get a dry heat most Summer's, and it's actually pretty tolerable, and even nice most of the time. I could never live in a place like Arkansas, or Florida though. High humidities literally drive me crazy!!

Brad Russ

Ha, I think humidity is a pain in the ass, because, first of all I have wavy hair and when the weather is humid..Ha ha ha, my hair goes crazy and looks crazy; it becomes super curly; and trust me, I do not need the extra body to my locks.

My hair is naturally curly too, so I can relate to that. My biggest problem with the humidity though is that my allergies really act up, and I can barely breath when it's super humid. It also makes me feel hot and sticky, which makes me cranky, and so I end up spending half of those days in the shower.

I hear ya...I just look like a female version of Chewbacca(sp) when it is muggy outside; thank God, I live near the ocean, where it rarely becomes too humid; but everytime I am in like the San Fernando Valley..I swear I hear people whisper..."damn, that girl sure has a lot of hair!!!"

Well, I can understand what you're saying with the hair, but the rest of you is hot as hell!!! I definitely don't think you're cousins!! Maybe third cousins, but definitely not first cousins.

Owner of naturally curly hair here, as well. When it's really humid, my hair frizzes like crazy. The armpit town I lived in for 10 years was always VERY humid year-round, and that wreaked havoc on my hair. But then I moved back here to my hometown in 2003, where humidity really isn't an issue (except when it rains). I really haven't had much of a problem with my hair since then. :)

I like it when it's about 70-80 degrees. :)

But, here in Louisiana it gets HOT and HUMID. It's horrible. My uncles came to visit last weekend and it was so humid outside that their fingers swelled up a lot.

oh, gosh. my hair looks like a fro on rainy days. It's really not that curly either. Just really thick and wavy.
