View Full Version : What was 3s Company Saddest Moment?
The Flying Dutchmans 04-25-2007, 04:54 AM I can think of alot of sad moments for 3s C but in my opinon, the saddest was when jack realized that janet was moving out after her and phillip got married, and jack was in utter shock, it was too bad that jack and janet couldnt have stayed togather instead. and it was sad how they booted joyce for mary to do 3s a crowd.
I think #2 saddest moment would be when that scumbag covinced janet that she was going to be a great dancer but had only wanted her as his personal toy, and how janet fealt afterward. thats was real sad too
What do you think was 3 Cs saddest moment?
sunshinefizzy 04-25-2007, 07:28 AM The one where Teri was played by Soap star Brett Wade. Frigging doosh.
Also, where Jack and Janet thought that Chrissy was going to die. It was funny but geez.
Scoobiedoo30 04-25-2007, 04:03 PM :trio was when Jack and Janet throught Chrissy was going to Die
queenFrostine278 04-27-2007, 10:45 PM when theyre crying with their luggage in the last scene of the series. well, the last scene they were all in. and then they turn off the lights and its like, SO emotional. and then some bright happyass commercial flips on and ruins the mood.
My pick would be in the last episode when Terri turns around to glance into the apartment one more time before turning off the light and then closing the door on it forever.
freshprinceofLA 04-28-2007, 03:38 AM Like most of you guys have already said the last episode janet's wedding and all and them leaving the apt forever. It was so sad.
PrettyinPink55 04-28-2007, 09:40 AM The entire last episode (both parts). I can't even watch those anymore. I hate goodbyes, and I feel that the last Three's Company episodes weren't a proper goodbye...not at all. :(
dav4463 05-12-2007, 12:59 AM My pick would be in the last episode when Terri turns around to glance into the apartment one more time before turning off the light and then closing the door on it forever.
I'm a grown man and that makes me cry!!!
Actually, I turn the channel when the episode comes on where Janet meets her husband to be at the reading of that will. I hate that he came in and ruined the show for me!
Frischman_Fan 05-12-2007, 04:57 PM The last episode. What's funny is, I haven't seen it and refuse to see it. I've been a TC fan for about 15 years and I still refuse to watch that ep. Go figure!!:(
Carrie 05-15-2007, 11:52 AM I definitely think when Jack and Janet realize that they will no longer be living together is the saddest moment. I recently watched the entire 8 seasons and when that part came up, it really depressed me. It was like, oh no! I can't believe the series is going to be over! :(
Austin Tripper 05-21-2007, 07:09 PM When Jack treated Terri Badly on the first episode..
When the dancer treated Janet badly..
:(
Scoobiedoo30 05-22-2007, 02:50 PM when Jack Terri and Jack went out The Door for the last time on The Series Finale of Three's Company
Fleet 05-22-2007, 03:30 PM when Jack Terri and Jack went out The Door for the last time on The Series Finale of Three's Company
Was there a twin also named "Jack?" ;)
Scoobiedoo30 05-23-2007, 12:44 AM not that I remember
Tripper! 10-09-2007, 03:46 AM I'm knocking on this door a bit late, but I'd like to join in anyway. :)
Yes, the ending is bittersweet, but now in the age of DVD, there's a way to soften the blow. The key to watching the final episode of THREE'S COMPANY without getting too depressed is to immediately follow up by watching the first episode of the series. By going back to the very beginning when Jack, Janet, Chrissy, and the Ropers appeared for the very first time, you take the sting out of watching how it ended by once again seeing how it all began...and all the laughs to come. :)
In fact, I think even ABC was cognizant of this; I vaguely remembered that immediately after showing the final episode of THREE'S COMPANY, ABC rebroadcast the first episode...to help fans remember how it was in the beginning.
Carrie 10-09-2007, 01:57 PM I like that idea. :) I had completed my collection by purchasing seasons 4-8 a couple months ago and was finally able to watch the entire series. I had so much fun watching it that I was really upset and depressed after I watched the final episodes. It was like, "Oh my gosh, there are no more episodes to watch! What am I going to do with myself?" LOL, thank goodness for dvds!
I Love John Ritter 10-13-2007, 01:57 AM Anything having to do with the trio leaving each other. Jack and Janet's talk, the kids telling Mr. Furley they are moving out, when they actually leave, etc. Basically the entire last three episodes.
BuffaloBill 10-13-2007, 09:54 PM Touching moments would be more appropriate in saying. Two that no one has touched on when Ralph and Jack were stuck in the ice box and Ralph told Jack he was like a son and Jack replied by his hevelation to Ralph he wasnt gay.
That was the perfect moment to finally end the gay pretending. The show was nearing an end , no doubt they should leveled with Ralph once and for all. He was too far into the relationship for Furley to kicked him out.
The other I'm surprised no one brough up when Janet got her locket back on her birthday from Jack in season 1. Enough said. ;)
Jude The Obscure 02-12-2008, 10:07 PM I like how John stated in interviews that he wished the producers had dropped the pretending to be gay angle very early on.
Janice 02-12-2008, 10:11 PM I can't watch the final scene where the three leave the apartment. I can't even watch the episode.
vtunie 02-12-2008, 10:41 PM I can't watch the final scene where the three leave the apartment. I can't even watch the episode.
My wife utterly refuses to watch any of the last three episodes. I thought I couldn't, 1984-2007 -- and then forced myself to watch, and was struck by how well-done it actually is.
It is very sad. But in a way it's very true to the spirit of the show. The endings were always straight, all misunderstandings were ironed out. Well, here is the straightest ending possible. And, after all, friends do part like that sometimes. :crying:
(The tag scene with Vicki, though, really belonged in the first ep of TAC.)
Jude The Obscure 02-13-2008, 12:50 AM (The tag scene with Vicki, though, really belonged in the first ep of TAC.)
I do like how (before the edited versions on N@N and TV Land appeared) the ending has the Three's Company logo transformed into the Three's a Crowd logo.
BuffaloBill 02-13-2008, 01:28 AM The curse of the Bambino still works in mysterious ways. Congrats to the Pats on an 18-1 season not so perfect season. Couldn't have happened to a better team and even more rotten coach !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:happyface
Janice 02-13-2008, 01:52 AM Can't take that Perfect Regular Season away. That's there forever, same for those three rings. As for Bambino crurse, that ended in 2004, and the last time I looked, the Red Sox won the World Series in October.
janet42 02-13-2008, 02:21 AM (The tag scene with Vicki, though, really belonged in the first ep of TAC.)
I agree. I wish they did the last show like they did on "Happy Days". That last episode was filmed too quickly to be enjoyed as a last episode of a 8 season series. I understand that Jack wanted Janet and Terri to meet Vicki, but they should have kept her part small until they started their own series "Three's A Crowd."

Yes, watching the episodes one after another in reruns or on DVD makes it seem very rushed. But the original run was a little different (going by memory):
November 83 -- Janet quits the flower shop (hint of change)
January 84 -- Jack smashes Janet's car (strain!!)
February/March 84-- Janet meets Philip ("The Heiress")
May 84 -- Philip proposes; Jack meets Vicki ("Cupid Works Overtime")
September 84 -- Marriage and end ("Friends and Lovers")
Granted, ABC made the decision to postpone the finale into September at the very last second, but in fact it worked out more realistically that way.
(Ah, strange to say realistic and "Three's Company" in the same breath! )
Skywalker 02-13-2008, 02:39 AM The final scene with the trio at the apartment in the last episode.
Another moment worth mentioning is Larry's and Furley's reactions after Jack, Janet and Terri tell them that they're moving out in the season 6 episode "Paradise Lost".
Chain Gang Member 02-13-2008, 04:28 PM Jack being mean to Terri
Terri finding out she was almost gonna marry Bret just so his character wouldn't get killed off
The finale
Janice 02-13-2008, 10:59 PM Jack being mean to Terri
I agree. That scene was difficult to watch. I felt so bad for Terri.

They would have been better off introducing the new characters in the fall so the audience could have gotten use to them.
goofsandobservations 02-21-2008, 01:49 PM I agree with mostly everyone here, it's the last episode that touches me the most. I thought I was the only one that can't watch it, lol. Its depressing to say goodbye to my favorite sitcom. I have seasons 1-7 and am still hesitating to order season 8.
TVFactFan 02-21-2008, 02:09 PM I do like how (before the edited versions on N@N and TV Land appeared) the ending has the Three's Company logo transformed into the Three's a Crowd logo.
Yeah not sure why N@N and TV land cut that New Logo change out since it was on the episode my local station aired years ago, and TBS-lol
