View Full Version : Circuit City is came up with a new plan to deal with falling sales
TVFactFan 03-29-2007, 02:20 PM Laid off the Higher paid workers and higher new people for lower salaries-lol
They are expected to layoff 3400 people and lost of people say this a cold strategy.
Well last July at my current company they did the reverse, they KEPT the workers with higher salaries and got rid of the workers with the lower salaries.

That makes zero sense.
TVFactFan 03-29-2007, 03:36 PM That makes zero sense.
They are trying to do what i'm doing in my household, MAKE UP FOR THEIR LOSSES-lol
Ireneparalegal 03-29-2007, 04:00 PM I heard that on the news late last night.
I don't even like Circuit City. I prefer Best Buy or Fry's.
dawsongirl 03-29-2007, 05:03 PM We have no Circuit City anywhere near here. Just overpriced, rude and idiotic employees Best Buy.
Nighthawk76 03-29-2007, 05:12 PM Circut City could use a better selection in their CDs and DVDs section.
Nighthawk76 03-29-2007, 05:14 PM We have no Circuit City anywhere near here. Just overpriced, rude and idiotic employees Best Buy.
It's just opposite here. You can't walk through our Best Buy without being asked by 30 different people if you need help. I hate it.
It seems like companies can do what ever they want to, whether it makes any sense or not. Over the years I've been through layoffs & a factory closure. Nothing surprises me anymore.

Circuit City is where I bought my TV last month. I should have ent to The Best Buy in the Suburbs-lol
freshprinceofLA 03-29-2007, 10:07 PM I like Circuit City better than best buy. Best buy claims to be cheap but its kinda expensive. Plus in best buy they give you F***** attitude when you try to return something!

Yeah, you can do that same here. But it seems like the ones you do seek help from are either rude or that have no idea what they are talking about. My mom had a guy tell her that if she didn't like the software she was buying once she got it on her computer and tested it out, she could bring it back. So, she bought it, didn't like it, and took it back, where someone at customer service told her she couldn't because of copyrights. And then he got snotty when she told him his own employee told her she could. OMG...learn what you're selling, you moron 16 year olds.
dawsongirl 03-29-2007, 10:22 PM Plus in best buy they give you F***** attitude when you try to return something!
YES!!! That post up there ^^^ wasn't the first time my mom has been given snotty attitude for returning something.
dawsongirl 03-29-2007, 10:23 PM Jesus, Amen on the "IDIOTS" employees at Best Buy:rolleyes:
"oh, your I.Q. is higher than 80?, sorry, you are over qualified!"
:rotflmao:
Ireneparalegal 03-29-2007, 11:48 PM Fry's employees are idiots, too; but the DO have the best prices for TV-DVDs; the only reason why I even shop there.:D
Bingo! same here. The employees are too young to answer complicated questions, but they have a big ass selection of classic TV dvd's and movies.

Those young employees just work there so they can have extra money in their pocket on saturday night-lol
Dr. John Becker 03-30-2007, 06:26 AM I always liked Circuit City because they had more knowledgable help then Best Buy.
Sounds like they fired all the good help now though.
catlover79 03-30-2007, 01:14 PM What a crummy deal for the competent employees. Hope they find other (better) jobs soon!!
Chelsea 03-30-2007, 03:14 PM We've got about a 50/50 mix of the courteous, rather intelligent employees and "can't walk and chew gum at the same time" dimbulbs at the local Best Buy.
SBTB Geek 03-30-2007, 07:44 PM I'm guessing the commission sales people at Sears are next.
GARFIELDKOOL 04-01-2007, 12:19 PM I'm sorry but I prefer Circuit City over Best Buy. Circuit City is the real "Best Buy" CC is cheaper on the average of about 3 bucks. Both stores in my area are in the same vicinity. A few Saturdays ago, I went out to both of them to compare. CC has the better deal. I love their $6.99 deal. Sometimes $5.99 or $3.99. Best Buy will have 2 for $15. BB just have the better selection slighty, but CC is catching up. Another example is I saw this wrestling DVD set that both stores carry, CC had it for $17.99 and BB had it for $22.00. I couldn't believe it.
TVJunkie101 04-01-2007, 06:51 PM I've never liked Circuit City.
Best Buy is better and has more of a selection. Their movie/TV show DVD collection is huge compared to other stores.
And yeah, the same way at my Best Buy, at least 50 associates wandering the store in your face asking if you need help and then they get insulted if you don't.
But I will give Circuit City the advantage sometimes when it comes to pricing. I was buying a new home computer a few years ago (I just got another one last year) and went between Best Buy and CC and they each had the same one, but CC was cheaper, by a lot so ... sometimes it might be better to go there for things.
And DVDs at Best Buy are BADLY overpriced.
An 80s Guy 04-01-2007, 09:58 PM I actually buy my TV-DVDs at walmart. They have the roseanne sets for 20 bucks I'm going tomorrow.
dawsongirl 04-01-2007, 10:26 PM And DVDs at Best Buy are BADLY overpriced.
They are. That's why I mostly get mine at amazon.
I noticed that the TVs seemed a little more expensive at BB than at CC. But since I have no CC within a 3 hour radius, doesn't help me at all.
