April is alsways a really bad month for this network, because Funniest Mom is going to be airing every night, whether it is at 11:00, 2:00, or 9:00, there is always going to be an airing of it sometime on someday. TV Land does the same thing. They air a new episode of an orginal series, and then air it 10 more times that week, and it really bothers me. So even though Full House is on for an hour, it won't be airing that much because of FM 3.

I still wish Growing Pains was back on 9:30, or even just on weekends at 10:30 or something.

Nick at Nite Reveals the 13 Moms Selected to Compete in Semi-Final Showcase of Funniest Mom in America 3

Kim Coles and Hal Sparks Named Celebrity Judges

NEW YORK, April 4 -- Nick at Nite revealed today the names of the 13 moms selected from auditions and regional competitions across the country to compete in the semi-final showcase round of Funniest Mom in America 3. It was also announced that actress/comedienne/playwright Kim Coles (Living Single, Celebrity Fit Club) and Hal Sparks (Queer as Folk, Celebrity Duets) will serve as celebrity judges this season. The six-part reality series -- hosted by Roseanne Barr -- premieres on Tuesday, April 10 from 9:00 - 10:00 p.m. (all times ET/PT) and follows the journey of moms across the country as they compete for the title of "Funniest Mom in America." The culmination event in which one mom is crowned winner will air on Mother's Day, Sunday, May 13 at 9:00 p.m. One lucky mom will win $50,000 plus the chance to host a special night of programming on Nick at Nite. The series is being executive produced by Allison Grodner (Big Brother, Blowout). Funniest Mom in America 3 is presented by KFC.

After months of auditions and regional competitions across the country, 12 moms have been chosen to advance to the semi-finals round in the competition. Additionally, through an online component, after viewing a select number of submitted online videos, a 13th mom has been voted in by viewers via http://www.nickatnite.com. All 13 of these moms will compete in the semi-final showcase in Los Angeles which will air on the series. From there, six moms will be chosen to move on to the next round of the competition to compete in various comedic challenges, work with special coaches and prepare for performances where week by week, one mom will be eliminated by celebrity judges Kim Coles and Hal Sparks. About Kim Coles

When Hollywood first met actress, comedienne, and playwright Kim Coles, she was well on her way to becoming one of the funniest and most creative talents in the business. From her starring role as "Synclaire" on the long- running FOX sitcom Living Single, to her co-starring role in The Geena Davis Show, Coles has always been a true source of humor for television audiences. Coles has also found success in the current reality trend - on ABC's The Mole, VH1's Celebrity Fit Club, and BET's Coming to the Stage.

When not sharing her thoughts from her hilarious book "I'm Free, But It'll Cost You," Coles is performing on comedy club stages across the country night after night. Coles also demonstrated her skills as a co-host of the hit morning program Fox After Breakfast, and as host of Lifetime's lifestyle magazine New Attitudes. She even graces the NY runways from time to time and appears in the latest print campaign for Ashley Stewart.

Coles is no stranger to the challenging world of live theatre. She co- wrote and starred in her one-woman stage show Homework. The show premiered to raving audiences in Los Angeles and then outshined its first run by going Off- Broadway. The play is a funny and heartfelt look into the lives of three best friends, all played by Coles, who progress from elementary school to womanhood.

Actor/comedian Hal Sparks began his professional career as a teenager in Chicago. As a member of the famed Second City Troupe, his quick wit and affable personality quickly gained him recognition and acclaim. I see a very small change in the schedule. It looks like this Thursday, April 12will be an airing of Designing Women at 5:30, replacing Full House, on Wednesday, April 18, at 5:30, and on Wednesday, April 25, at 5:30.

Also, ON Saturday, April 14, will be an airing of Murphy Brown at 5:30, replacing Full House, on Saturday, April 21, at 5:30, and on Saturday, April 28 at 5:30.

So, it looks like Designing Women is now on Thursdays, and Murphy Brown is now on Saturdays. Since Nick at Nite has now strictly went Family Friendly Sitcoms, it is odd seeing thse two shows return. It is nice, and I will definitely enjoy watching them.

I really don't understand the need for these changes. I mean, a night of Roseanne and Fresh Prince is nothing new, but it is getting old quickly. I enjoy watching both of these shows, but I also enjoy watching Growing Pains, The Cosby Show, Murphy Brown, and all the others that air once in a blue moon.

If Murphy Brown is replacing Full House on Saturday nights/early Sunday, how come Full House is listed for April 22? I'm confused, lol.

Wow . . . I wish that TV Land still owned Nick at Nite. Ever since Nickelodeon came in and bought out the network, we have been hearing bad news every single week. 3 weeks ago, it was all Fresh Prince, all weekend. 2 weeks ago, it was the same thing. Last week, I was a bit glad to see Fresh Prince and Roseanne, but this weekend, its Fresh Prince, with 3 other shows. It just really surprises me as to why they would air Fresh Prince until 4:30, and then air 3 other shows stuck in the wee hours of the morning, with no Roseanne? I mean, in my opinion, still airing The Cosby Show, Growing Pains, and Murphy Brown show that Nick at Nite does read what we have to say about these marathons, yet are still worried about ratings.

I am looking forward to Murphy Brown still on Saturday night. I was going to set my alarm clock to watch the episode at 5:30, then go back to bed, but now I can set it for 4:30, and watch all 3 shows, which makes it all a little more worthwhile.

Well, now Nick at Nite is airing commercials for America's Funniest Home Videos coming to Nick at Nite April 30, airing every night at 9:00 pm, instead of 8:30.

If that's the case, look;s like Growing Pains never has a chance of coming back to 9:30.

I actually stayed up to watch 4:30-6am. I was glad to see they picked the episode where Murphy's mother dies, because that was one of my favorite episodes, and haven't seen it in awhile.

Anyways, it looks like after April, Murphy Brown and Designing Women will no longer air, and instead will be replaced with Full House at 5:30. I really wish we could see these shows more.

Pavan

The May grids are not updated yet. So Murphy and Designing will probably still be there unless they bombed.

JulieSomoski
04-16-2007, 03:57 PM
Well, there is a way to get ahead on the schedule, to where you can only get up to the first Saturday in May. On the Address Bar, at the very end where it says 04 (for April) and whatever the date is, just change it to 05 )for May) and 05 (for the fifth), and it shows Full House instead of Murphy Brown.

Pavan
04-16-2007, 05:23 PM

JulieSomoski
04-16-2007, 09:26 PM
You're right . . . if you go even farther, they are showing AFV every day at 9 and 9:30; confusing. But is AFV airing at 8:30,
9:00, or 9:00 and 9:30? I just wish NAN would fill us in on things more often, instead of having us guess.

04-17-2007, 01:01 AM
I just saw a commercial on Nick-at-Nite which mentioned America's Funniest Videos will air at 9pm ET.

JulieSomoski
04-17-2007, 09:40 PM
It looks like the schedule is already changing. All next week (beginning April 23) there will be an all week long marathon of The Cosby Show hosted by all 5 of the Cosby kids, airing from 9:00-2:00am. Plus, airing after the marathon, at 3 and 3:30 is Full House, 4 and 4:30 is Growing Pains, 5:00 is Designing Women Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Sunday, and Murphy Brown Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday, and at 5:30 is Full House. It's all up on their schedule for next week at NAN.com

This seems to be a weekly thing. In January we got Roseanne, February we got Growing Pains, March was Fresh Prince, and April is The Cosby Show. Maybe May will be one of the "other" shows, like Murphy Brown. And I am surprised that Growing Pains is getting 2 airings a night, while Roseanne and Fresh Prince, the top rated shows, are not airing once next week. maybe NAN is noticing that we are sick of Fresh prince and and Roseanne, and are trying something different.

Pavan

Nick at Nite will not make last second changes to its weekend line-up this week (at least not yet). Well, the Murphy Brown Saturday night (early Sunday morning) airing at 5:30am has been replaced by Full House for this week. Also, a rebroadcast of the TV Land Awards will air Sunday from 11pm-12:30am.
A last minute Cosby Show stunt has been booked:

- "Huxta-palooza" A Cosby Show Marathon
Monday, April 23 through Sunday, April 29
Sun-Thurs 9pm-3am and Fri-Sat 10pm-4am
Nick at Nite invites viewers to spend a week with their favorite television family on Huxta-palooza, a week-long marathon hosted by the Huxtable children as they present their favorite episodes and moments from The Cosby Show. From Monday, April 23 – Sunday, April 29, actors Keisha Knight-Pulliam, Malcom Jamaal Warner, Tempestt Bledsoe, Lisa Bonet, and Sabrina Le Beauf will each host their own night featuring their favorite six episodes. Huxta-palooza will feature never-before-seen interviews with the Cosby kids as the stars comment on their characters’ greatest meltdowns, triumphs, best fashion moments and more.
Following the marathon for this week ONLY will be:
3:00am Full House
3:30am Full House
4:00am Growing Pains
4:30am Growing Pains
5:00am Designing Women/Murphy Brown
5:30am Full House

JulieSomoski
04-18-2007, 09:06 PM
Especially with Growing Pains airing 2 times a night. The show has already proven not too good in the ratings, so I am already expecting it to be replaced with Roseanne of Fresh Prince.

I'm excited for Murphy Brown. Even 3 times a week is a lot for the show.

Kristen
04-18-2007, 09:33 PM
Well, at least this gives me a chance to tape Murphy Brown. I'm glad they're finally playing it, even if it's at a crappy time.

JulieSomoski
04-19-2007, 09:52 PM
It looks like Designing Women and Murphy Brown are doing well for them (In their own kind of way), because they are both now on EVERY night, even after the Cosby marathon--Murphy is Tue, Thur, and Sat, and Designing Women is Sun, Mon, Wed, Fri.

Pavan
04-20-2007, 12:01 AM
It's not a ratings thing. They just need to air the show and not just waste their money. And if it bombs, they'll pull it.

Heather987
04-20-2007, 01:44 PM
Call me crazy for thinking this but why not air the shows they have aquired/paid for in some of the airing time that they are showing the rotating nightly marathons of Fresh Prince, Cosby, and Roseanne.

It seems every month we have a marathon for a week of one of these shows, the weekends lately have been Fresh Prince marathons, and everynight we have a mini marathon of one of the shows. They also have FP on The N, Cosby on TV Land (or have had it on Sun.), and Roseanne is available on Oxygen so its not like we cant see the show elsewhere as well.

Why not just have a regular schedule that includes all the shows they have aquired and remove these pitiful marathons that are showing the same episodes of the same show over and over.

Pavan
04-20-2007, 01:53 PM
Those shows did not do well in the early part. 5am is probably best for those.

JulieSomoski
04-20-2007, 03:20 PM
Weren't Murphy and Designing Women cheap to buy?

Plus, if these shows are airing, wouldn't NAN lose even more money just buy airing them? If they are adding more airings, I'm sure the shows are not bombing, or else they wouldn't have lasted up to this point.

Also, about how many viewers a night on average do Fresh Prince and Roseanne get, and how many do Murphy and Designing Women get?

Pavan
04-20-2007, 05:05 PM
No, they were not really cheap. They both are long term deals and they usually are not cheap. Program Exchange shows are the cheapest lasting only 1-2 years. NewsRadio was cheap. I doubt they will ever air that again, since they didn't pay much for it.

The two shows do not do well in the early evenings, so might as well air them at 5am to waste the plays, since they paid for it. Both shows will eventually "try" to launch on TV Land. Murphy and Mad About You will launch in summer 2008 as a "summer stunt," as of now. And Designing Women in October 2007, I believe. Transition for The Cosby Show has begun, and will be totally on TV Land by April 2008. I think TVL has a big stunt planned for April 2008, as of now.

Heather987
04-20-2007, 05:07 PM
It just seems that N@N has not always given fair treatment to some shows in order for them to get a good following. I am sure at the moment 5 am is a great slot to put a show that does not get well ratings as not many people are channel surfing at 5am.

Pav you seem to be very up to date on this stuff: Is N@N going to do anything besides the marathons with the same 3 shows anytime soon? Like will they start doing a summer rotation with other shows having a shot at a marathon, or are they showing these shows in rotation so much cause they want to run out the airings they are allowed before losing the contract?

Pavan
04-20-2007, 05:11 PM
I don't know what their plans are yet for summer. But it looks like Cosby Show, Fresh Prince and Roseanne will be the only ones getting marathons for the near future. Full House doesn't do well in the late night, or they would have that in there, too. AFV would probably fit the same boat as FH.

clj2
04-20-2007, 08:02 PM
So is TV Land planning on officially going 'modern' in 2008? Seems like if Cosby, MB and M A Y come, in addition to Scrubs, Just Shoot Me, and Designing Women, there will be a lot of recent shows airing on TV Land.
Any idea if TV Land plans on bringing Cheers, Wings, and Night Court back? If they're adding the above shows it seems only logical.

I don't see why they just don't put Cosby on TV Land. They started Cheers, AITF, TC, etc from N@N full-blast back in 2004, they never bothered to 'transition' them.

Pavan
04-20-2007, 11:59 PM
No, they are just airing shows that boomers watched originally and what they watch now. It is more a Boomer channel now than classic TV. It'll have a mix of shows from the 50s to the current era. ER is expiring from TNT this fall...I fully expect TV Land to get it...yes, scary.

clj2
04-21-2007, 07:38 AM
Wow, ER on TV Land. I bet it's safe to say we'll see Friends on TV Land also in 2011.

I hope that RTN or whatever expands and can be on cable/satellite. We need something dedicated to solely 50s-80s programming.

Pavan
04-21-2007, 10:24 AM
I think Friends will be on Nick at Nite, as it is in more homes. But eventually I would expect it on both channels after a few years.

JulieSomoski
04-21-2007, 03:49 PM
Is there any chance of seeing Mad About You or A Different World back on Nick at Nite anytime soon?

What they should do is air those 4 shows (MB, DW, ADW, MAY) in the 4-5am hour, rotating each night, just to make us happy and not waste their money.

Pavan
04-21-2007, 05:40 PM
