View Full Version : Cliff & Pam AB 03-05-2007, 12:34 AM It was hard for me to think of them as brother and sister, they seemed so different. Sometimes I wanted Pam to slap some sense into him. Did anyone else think they made odd siblings? Ireneparalegal 03-05-2007, 12:35 AM I actually believed them to be siblings. Remember, we later learned that they shared a mother, but not a father, hence the fact they didn't really resemble each other. I agree, Cliff was so bent on destroying J.R. he let it rule everything in his life, even if it meant his life. AB 03-05-2007, 01:12 AM I actually believed them to be siblings. Remember, we later learned that they shared a mother, but not a father, hence the fact they didn't really resemble each other. I agree, Cliff was so bent on destroying J.R. he let it rule everything in his life, even if it meant his life. I'd forgot about that. Cliff could be so annoying, you just wanted him to realize that he could never outwit J.R. gidgetgrape 03-06-2007, 04:24 AM I thought they complimented each other well, especially in the third season when the paternity of John Ross was questionable. MikeLutton 03-06-2007, 11:35 PM i liked cliff barnes i didnt think he was annoying at all just trying beat Jr was great he finally got ewing oil at last season sure pam would bene proud of him for that would a cliff barnes series work like dallas Fallon97 12-13-2007, 04:43 PM I loved Cliff and Pam's sibling relationship. I thought their chemistry together was great! :) Penny Lane 02-05-2008, 04:17 PM Yeah Cliff was annoying but in season 6 Pam was VERY annoying. What a big baby! Bobby was well rid of her. Furienna 05-30-2008, 07:49 PM Nah, he wasn't. Ireneparalegal 05-30-2008, 08:05 PM I always say that Pam did turn into a whiner, but my God, look at what she had to put up with. You think Debra Barone had it bad on Everybody Loves Raymond, try living in the same house as J.R. Ewing. I'd be a real big time b*tch having to live with that!! J.R. hated her and her brother. He was always scheming to tear Bobby and her apart. If she and Bobby had their own place, that would have helped a lot. Get off that damn ranch!!!!! catlover79 05-30-2008, 09:01 PM ^ Just look what JR did to Gary & Val!! At least they had the sense to get the heck out of Dodge (thanks to Miss Ellie buying them the new house in Knots Landing)...but then they had Abby to contend with. That's a whole other post! Furienna 05-30-2008, 09:04 PM I always say that Pam did turn into a whiner, but my God, look at what she had to put up with. But hey, then "Dallas" wouldn't have been "Dallas". catlover79 05-30-2008, 09:06 PM Oh yeah, they should have gotten the heck out of there. But hey, then "Dallas" wouldn't have been "Dallas". I could never figure out why they all lived in the same house anyway. They were BILLIONAIRES, for Pete's sake!! At least have them live in different mansions on the same property. Mr. Television 05-30-2008, 09:06 PM In the mini-series they all had individual houses on Southfork to live in but when it got renewed everyone just moved into the mainhouse. It was like My Three Sons. Ireneparalegal 05-30-2008, 09:09 PM I remember those little cottages they had. They seemed so small. But at least they did live separately. The thought of all those hotheads in one ranch home... Miss Ellie could not cut those apron strings. Remember how upset she was when Bobby said he and Pam were leaving, shortly before J.R. was shot? My God, you'd think someone had ripped Bobby right out of her uterus. Can you imagine living in the same house with Jock, JR and Bobby growing up? Ireneparalegal 05-30-2008, 09:15 PM No wonder Gary became a drunk. Can you imagine living in the same house with Jock, JR and Bobby growing up?  Like I said, and Debra Barone thought she had it bad.  catlover79 05-30-2008, 09:15 PM No wonder Gary became a drunk. They were BILLIONAIRES, for Pete's sake!! At least have them live in different mansions on the same property. Well, it was a very, very big building, with several small side houses attached to the larger main house. But I guess they had them all live in the same house because it kept them all in the same place, which made it easier to make storylines. It's like when Denise and Martin lived with her parents on "The Cosby show" or when Jesse and Becky lived with Danny and his daughters on "Full House". You'd think a married couple should get a place on their own, but nah-ah. Ireneparalegal 05-30-2008, 09:21 PM Southfork was just one large ranch. Each couple had their own bedroom but everything else was shared, the gym room, the living room, the kitchen, etc. Never was there anything attached to Southfork that resembled a home. catlover79 05-30-2008, 09:21 PM Well, it was a very, very big building, with several small side houses attached to the larger main house. Gloria & Meathead moved in next door to her parents on All in the Family. That makes more sense to me. Move relatives across the street or next door - don't have 682 people living under one roof!!   Furienna 05-30-2008, 09:24 PM Yeah, living next door is a totally different matter. But when it comes to Southfork, it really was big enough for all those people, which the houses on "The Cosby show" and "Full House" were not. Ireneparalegal 05-30-2008, 09:25 PM ...don't have 682 people living under one roof!!   :brent I agree Monika. Like you said, it would have been better to have mini-mansions (or ranch homes) on the property, since the property was HUGE! catlover79 05-31-2008, 12:35 PM :brent I agree Monika. Like you said, it would have been better to have mini-mansions (or ranch homes) on the property, since the property was HUGE! I know...how many acres was Southfork on, anyway?? Ireneparalegal 05-31-2008, 02:08 PM I know...how many acres was Southfork on, anyway?? Oh man, I haven't a clue. They had cattle, horses, then you had the stables, then there was the land Ray built his house on, then there was the part of the land where they pumped oil (can't remember the name of that oil # parcel), so you figure for all of that and then some it had to be GIGANTIC!!!!! There were times Jock and Bobby and/or Ray were herding the cattle (cattle drive); that alone was a stretch of land. |
