Go to work and just leave early? I would never take off so I can go to the doctor that just makes no sense to me. How many people think it's better to just go to work and leave early so you can go to your appt?

PZelda 02-26-2007, 12:32 PM None of these. I schedule my doctor's appointments for on my already-scheduled day off. :) That way, after I'm done with my appt, I can go do errands. Ireneparalegal 02-26-2007, 12:33 PM Well...I know you asked this question before, but still, it livens up the board. When I worked, I made my appt. on Saturdays if the doctor's office or dental office was opened that day. If not, then I would make it early in the morning and go to work later and not have a lunch. I never remember asking this question, you must have a good memory Janice 02-26-2007, 12:35 PM When I worked, I wouldn't dream of taking a day off for a doctor's appointment. I'd schedule it for early in the morning or later in the day...then come in late or leave work early. TVFactFan 02-26-2007, 12:53 PM When I worked, I wouldn't dream of taking a day off for a doctor's appointment. Right Janice, that's how you do it-lol Already Gone 02-26-2007, 12:59 PM I like to take a whole sick day off, go in the morning and have the rest of the day to do with what I want. TVFactFan 02-26-2007, 01:09 PM I like to take a whole sick day off, go in the morning and have the rest of the day to do with what I want. So you want to get up early on a day off and go to the doctor?-lol GCW 02-26-2007, 02:06 PM I always just leave work early to go to the doctor or dentist. If I do it on my day off, it just kind of ruins the day because you spend most of your day off waiting in the doctor or dentist office and before you know it your day off is over. Already Gone 02-26-2007, 02:07 PM So you want to get up early on a day off and go to the doctor?-lol Yeah cause I want to get it out of the way so I can enjoy the rest of the day since I make the appointments for warmer months. :) Mr. Cranky 02-26-2007, 02:12 PM I'm with you Solomon. Holly 02-26-2007, 02:20 PM Go to work and just leave early? I would never take off so I can go to the doctor that just makes no sense to me. How many people think it's better to just go to work and leave early so you can go to your appt? I usually just put in for a sick day for Doctors Appointment's ONLY, B/c I dont like to rush to get to work or speed exc.. I usually just like to go to the Drs. and go back home and relax all day, and surf the net;) TVFactFan 02-26-2007, 02:27 PM Yeah cause I want to get it out of the way so I can enjoy the rest of the day since I make the appointments for warmer months. :) Well I guess that makes sense during the summer AB 02-26-2007, 04:58 PM When you work third shift you don't have that problem but I make my appointments as early in the day as possible so I can go home & sleep. Number 9 Dream 02-26-2007, 06:40 PM I do the same thing...it's just easier this way :) None of these. I schedule my doctor's appointments for on my already-scheduled day off. :) That way, after I'm done with my appt, I can go do errands. TVFactFan 02-26-2007, 06:42 PM When you work third shift you don't have that problem but I make my appointments as early in the day as possible so I can go home & sleep. I seen some people go to the doctor FIRST and then come to WORK-lol I always schedule my appts for the afternoon, never in the morning catlover79 02-26-2007, 07:51 PM Sometimes I will make an appt. on a work day -- my dentist is only about 5 minutes away from my job so I'll usually go to the dentist first (I work from about 12-8 pm). I don't mind going to the doctor on a day off, that way I don't have to squeeze around anything else that day. I would rather use my paid free hrs off work on a vacation or something of that nature. I try to make all my necessary checkups (regular doctor, dentist, eye doctor, etc.) within a few weeks of each other, then I get them all out of the way. Courtnee 02-26-2007, 10:11 PM I take days off from school when I go to the doctors. Chances are, I don't feel well anyways, if I'm going to the doctor. tdf4077 02-26-2007, 10:23 PM well, i guess it depends. Normally, I'd rather just leave early, but I had an appt with a specialist last year, and he could only get me in at 11, so i just took the day off (the first one in 3 years). Brieannas21 02-27-2007, 01:51 AM I've taken days off to go to the docs or to take my girls to the docs. Or I'll go on an off day. dawsongirl 02-27-2007, 02:06 AM I take the afternoon off. Well, I've only done it once, but that's what I did. It's too hard trying to get the appointment after 3pm so that I could not have to take time. Plus, short days are awesome. dawsongirl 02-27-2007, 02:09 AM I seen some people go to the doctor FIRST and then come to WORK-lol I always schedule my appts for the afternoon, never in the morning If I did that, I'd never go to work after the appointment. TVFactFan 02-27-2007, 10:47 AM If I did that, I'd never go to work after the appointment. Yeah right-lol That would make it hard to go to work-lol TVFactFan 02-27-2007, 10:49 AM I've taken days off to go to the docs or to take my girls to the docs. Or I'll go on an off day. Brieanna I'm talking about your kids, i'm talking about YOU-lol Of course you would have to take a day off if you had to take your kids to the doctor. But in your case you would just go to work and leave early to go to the doctor GCW 02-27-2007, 11:30 AM If I did that, I'd never go to work after the appointment. Me too, especially since I live pretty close to my doctor. So I can't imagine going to the doctor first and then going all the way downtown to work for a half a day and turn around and come back uptown. Instead I rather go downtown for half a day for work, go uptown to the doctor and then just go straight home. Brieannas21 02-27-2007, 11:41 AM Brieanna I'm talking about your kids, i'm talking about YOU-lol Of course you would have to take a day off if you had to take your kids to the doctor. TVFactFan 02-27-2007, 11:55 AM I said that I have taken the day off to go to the doctors. Well it depends if you are having a major test done like Cat scan or mRI's. But just for a annual visit i would take a half of day Brieannas21 02-27-2007, 12:30 PM Well it depends if you are having a major test done like Cat scan or mRI's.
