I hated when my mom and aunts did this when I was a kid and it was because the pancakes had CRISPY EDGES-lol I was used to pancakes being soft and FLUFFY when I went to Mcdonald's or IHOP but when my mom refused to buy the proper cooking tools to make pancakes I always said-"NO!! when she asked me did i want pancakes. Someone at my job actually liked when the pancakes had CRISPY EDGES-lol YUCK!!!!

I love the crispy edges too...the inside is soft and fluffy. I use the Bisquick Shake 'N Pour. Just add water, shake and pour into a hot frying pan with just a thin coating of oil. Sometimes I slice bananas and add them before I flip them. :happyface

Every Sunday morning baby. I make them for my husband with sausage or bacon...coffee, Tropicana OJ, the Sunday sport's page. He's in heaven.

I love pancakes with crispy edges. Bisquick is good, I also like Aunt Jemima. I haven't tried bananas yet. I usually stir fresh blueberries or strawberries into the batter. My sister makes delicious peach pancakes.

I'm not a breakfast person at all. I usually put a couple of pancakes aside to eat later in the day or even that evening. I never go for out for breakfast. My husband goes with his kids or a buddy. I could wake up to a gourmet breakfast buffet, and would be unable to eat it.

**** Bisquick, homemade is where it's at.

I don't have a preference regarding pancakes, as long as chocolate chips are mixed in. Actually, I hate breakfast foods so I don't eat breakfast very often.

the frying pan isn't the problem, the reason the pancakes had crispy edges was because there was too much oil in the pan. So when the batter hit the hot oil the edges would be the first part to fry up because of the oil that the pancakes are surrounded by. If you use a little oil or butter you won't have crispy edges. Also non-stick pan will do the trick also.

But I don't mind crispy edges that's the best part sometimes
