Do you think it is to controlling for your boyfriend or girlfriiend to want you to call them Sir and Ma'am? I said no. My friend said yes. She would not want to go out with a guy who wanted her to say Yes Sir and No Sir. I kind of what my future significant other to. Would youanswer them if they asked you to?

i don't think it's necessary at all. it's polite, but it sounds too formal and impersonal for a relationship.

That goes a bit too far . There's no need to call someone Sir or Madam unless they want to control you in some way.

:yeahthat

I can see calling your special someone sir or ma'am if you are joking around, but if that person is serious, I'd get away!

I expect to be called sir, have my slippers ready, cigar cut, laundry done and folded correctly, house cleaned, and dinner on the table on time every night. And nothing less.

I'd run for the hills. The person is an obvious control freak.
