We paid H&R Block $300 last year, and it really bothered me. I need to find someone who wants to make a quick $100. I don't work, and my husband is semi-retired. Our taxes are not complicated.

Nothing. I usually get my taxes done at VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assitance) at my college/job.

no; I'm not! Isn't that GREAT that I don't pay? Everyone I tell that to is really surprised. When my sister heard that she said "SWEET!!"

So, there's really no need for me to hold on to credit card statements, my Blue Cross and Medicare records, etc. (But I do anyway; just in case. Like; I ran into a problem with my Blue Cross a couple years ago and had to look up my statments)

The prices range. You can even go to their website and do your taxes from there. It's simple.

you can't get it if you still work, though, and they check every couple years to make sure you're not.

One of the little goodies I get from my employment, is that my boss's accountant does my taxes free of charge. Love it Love It Love it.

My brothers wife filled mine out and she never charges me, but I usually buy
her a $20 gift card for O'Charleys or Red Lobster. She fills out other family
members taxes too, she's very good at it.
