Oh I'll get over it...FOL isn't ruined for me or anything, it was just a shock at first. It could have been worse, but she called Joan Collins the b-word behind her back, then The Insider played it to Joan, who didn't understand why she said it, considering they'd never met.

It sure wasn't what I was expecting! lol

i think that it was kind of made up, i dunno... somethign about it didn't seem real... it was just really weird. The insider is known for making crap up, so it really wouldn't surprise me

I assume she was kidding because the the whole thing was taken way out of context. You don't even get to see what led up to her saying that. Chances are it was a slow news day at the Insider, as someone else said. Who cares anyway...I'd take Charlotte Rae over Joan Collins any day.

Maybe she was going on what she was told from another person/people who did work with Joan and maybe didn't like her for whatever reason.

I think it's hillarious, it shows Facts of Life viewers that Charlotte Rae is very different from her screen character Mrs. Garrett, some of you have even stated "Mrs. Garrett is getting old, senile, etc...."

Charlotte Rae is no way probably like Mrs. Garrett, which her TV Screen was way to happy all the time.


I think this is good eye-openers for people who think charlotte needs to act like Mrs. Garrett her character.

Inlcuding the 79 version of "hair" which as I recall, featured a lot of adult stuff for a "PG" film. Charlotte has often said she was more of a buddie than confidant to the girls on the FOL set, so her comment about Joan Collins, whose rep proceeds her, should come as no surprise. Plus, Charlotte is 80-something, she's entitled to appear somehwat befuddled. Remember this is Hollywood, All the FOL girls, and I do mean all Lisa, have appeared in ADULT work. Life isn't as warm and fuzzy as it was on FOL, most of the time anyway...

Hey, they just mentioned this the VH1 show Best Week Ever.

If you dont already know, they take news bits from the week and determine who has had the Best Week Ever. Well, they decided that this week, "Old Girls" are having the Best Week Ever and showed clips from the Insider of Charlotte making comments about Joan Collins.

They also mentioned it on The Soup. :)

I was wondering last night how many people were going to try to take their Bears' t-shirts, sweatshirts, hoodies back to the store. :lol: When I was at work on Saturday a whole bunch of people were buying large screen televisions so that they could watch the game on them. Now they are going to have try to return the TVs too. :lol:

I can't stay up late anymore. :lol: I used to go to bed when the birds got up. :lol: Can't do that anymore though. Just too darn old. :lol: Well, not as old as you though. ;) :lol:

Sorry to all the Bears fans for yesterday's loss. I believed and backed Rex Grossman all year and applauded Lovie Smith's loyalty to him but the Bears really do need a new QB or they will never win a Superbowl. I really thought Rex would have a decent game yesterday.

I was hoping for a Bears victory since I will be visiting family in both Wheeling and Glenview Illinois this summer. It would have been nice to have picked up some championship merchandise. But oh well maybe next year!

I wasn't skimming, I was commenting on what blairmusica said. Some people out there actually do have a hard time separating character from actor, but I'm glad most people don't.

I live pretty near to Glenview and Wheeling. :) I see that you are from Canada. I've always wanted to visit Canada.

Wheeling and Glenview are like second homes to me, much my childhood and teen summers were spent there and in Illinois in general. I have so much memories of going to places like Wrigley Field, Old Comiskey Park, Navy Pier, Gurnee Mills, Six Flags, Sears Tower and seeing Micheal Jordan's house in I think Highland Park (Not really his house but the gate with the number 23). I even attended a taping of the Bozo the Clown Show. Last time I went to Chicago was in 2004 to see the Bodyworks exibit at the Museum of Science and Industry. My biggest regret is not being able to watch a live Bulls game at the United Center during the Jordan years but I did see him play live in Toronto versus the Raptors.

I am from the Toronto area, If ever you are thinking of coming down to visit T.O let me know and I will give you a list of nice places to see while your down here.
