The next time I go to the mall I have going to wear a shirt that says, No I Don't Want A Cell Phone! I dreaded every time I walked past a phone kiosk. I tried to walk fast and not make eye contact but they still kept yelling out to me. Next time I'm pretending I don't speak english.

Well I'm a cashier at Meijer and the past couple of days I've worked, I had to try to get people to sign up for a Meijer credit card that they use in the store. I'm sure people were very annoyed coming into a shopping store and being hit up for a credit card.

My daughter works at Meijer in Flint, Mi. She works in Receiving. She likes being in the back rooms because she doesn't have to deal with customers .

I know what you mean. And then you tell them, "I already have a phone." and they say, "What do you pay for it?" HEY, THAT IS NONE OF YOUR F**KING BUSINESS A-HOLE!

If it's any consideration, know that those idiots don't like doing that stuff anymore than you have to hear it. They are taught to be pushy and forward and they are trying to make $$$$ and maybe commission and/or points. Points they probably earn towards something their company offers.

There is this others kiosk at the mall where I believe they sell lotions, I am not sure what it is, but I look forward to passing it just because the person is all happy and smiling and saying, "Can I ask you a question?" I say, "NO"...or I just wave my hand at them as I continue to walk by.

I act quite moody when they come up to me as I walk past any of the kiosks at the mall. I act moody and say, "No, I'm not interested" so they get intimidated. Seriously, if I were interested in purchasing something, I would go up to them. I hate when they come UP to me.

Yeah we don't want to do it any more than you want to hear it. It's just because we have to.

I've had a few simiar experiences, especially while buying CD's or DVD's. I ask to speak with the manager and when the manager comes over, I calmly let him or her know why I will not be buying anything in their store and I leave. Customers should not have to put up with that kind of rudeness.

I work in a strip mall type atmosphere and they walk in our front door all the time. Some of them can get quite ugly when point to the "no solicitors" sign and toss them out. One guy came in the other day and he was all dressed in a suit and started out talking nice but when I pointed to the sign and told him I had to show him the door he turned nasty on me! He had handed me a box of whatever he was selling and he would not take it back! I tried to hand it to his partner who had been silent (and seemed like a nicer person) and his partner put his hand out to take it and the guy slapped his arm and pushed it down and said "he's not taking it either!" As if by not taking his box back he thought he was going to force me to look at his products or something! Just about when I was going to keep his box (and whatever was in it) and push him out the door he snatched it out of my hand and mumbled a lot of nasty words and went out the door. What a jerk. That's the worst I'd had in awhile, but I've had others get ugly before too. They sure come off all "charming" until you tell them no or try to toss them out, then they turn into nasty scumbags!

One thing I despise is suggestive selling, Most fast food joints are notorious for this but the absolute worst offender is Hardees. Here's a recent scenario that took place about 3 weeks ago. This isn't exactly word for word but it's close enough so that you get the idea.

Cashier: Hi, Welcome to Hardees! Would you like to try our new Hawaiian chicken sandwich?

Me: Is it free?

Cashier: No

Me: Forget it then

Cashier: Can I take your order?

Me: I'll have a Big Twin, Small fries and a medium diet Coke, That's all.

Cashier: Would you care for a hot apple pie or a milkshake to go with that?

Me: Didn't I say that's all?

Cashier: Yes

Me: Then why ask?

Cashier: I'm required by the company to do suggestive selling.

Me: Well it's very annoying to some people

Cashier: I know, You're not the only one that complains but I could lose my job if I don't follow the rules.

Me: I don't want that to happen

Cashier: Thank you, Have a good evening
