HELLO ALL. FIRST LET ME JUST GET THIS OUT OF THE WAY. I TYPE IN ALL CAPS, BUT I AM NOT SHOUTING, AND PLEASE DON'T BE OFFENDED. FOR A FURTHER EXPLANATION, GO TO "THE FACTS OF LIFE" THREAD.

OK. NOW THAT THAT'S OUT OF THE WAY. I WANT TO EXPLAIN THIS THREAD.

I HAVE BEEN ON SITCOMSONLINE FOR A LITTLE OVER A YEAR NOW. I PERSONALLY THINK THIS IS THE BEST SITE ON THE I-NET, AND I LOVE IT. ALTHOUGH I AM MAINLY ON THE "FACTS" BOARDS, I CHECK INTO DIFFERENT ONES, AND HAVE RECENTLY GOTTEN INTO THIS FORUM.

ONE THING I HAVE NOTICED, THAT REALLY HAS IMPRESSED ME, IS THE OVERALL KINDNESS AND RESPECT THAT IS SHOWN TOWARD OTHERS ON SITCOMSONLINE. SURE, THERE ARE ARGUEMENTS HERE AND THERE, BUT FOR SUCH A DIVERSE GROUP OF PEOPLE, I AM AMAZED AT HOW WONDERFUL PEOPLE ON HERE TREAT ONE ANOTHER.

SO...I WAS THINKING.

WHAT IF EVERYDAY, EACH OF US DO SOMETHING KIND OR GENEROUS FOR SOMEONE ELSE? IT DOESN'T HAVE TO BE BIG AT ALL. MAYBE JUST WALKING AND ACTUALLY LOOKING PEOPLE IN THE EYE, AND GIVE THEM A GENUINE SMILE. HOW ABOUT ALL THE MORE SO IF THEY'RE HOMELESS? COULD YOU ACTUALLY GIVE THEM SOME CHANGE, OR IF YOU THINK THEY THEY WILL NOT USE IT WISELY, WHY NOT TAKE THEM TO MCDONALD'S OR WHEREVER, AND BUT THEM A HOT MEAL. COULD YOU TRY TO IMAGINE WHAT IT WOULD BE LIKE HOMELESS, INSTEAD OF THINKING ALL HOMELESS PEOPLE ARE LAZY OR ALCOHOLICS OR ON DRUGS? NOW WHAT AFFECT DOES IT HAVE ON YOUR HEART WHEN YOU SEE A HOMELESS CHILD?

NOBODY LIKES TO PAY FOR TOLLS. I KNOW I DON'T! CAN YOU PUT A SMILE ON SOMEONE'S FACE BY SPENDING .40 OR .80 AND BUY THE FELLOW MOTORIST BEHIND YOU A TOLL? A SMALL PRICE TO PAY TO MAKE SOMEONE HAPPY, IF EVEN FOR A LITTLE WHILE. AND YOU KNOW THEY'RE GOING TO TELL SOMEONE, "HEY, YOU KNOW SOMEONE PAID FOR MY TOLL TODAY?" MAYBE THEY'LL PAY IT FORWARD.

HOW ABOUT LETTING SOMEONE THAT YOU WOULD NOT NORMALLY LET CUT IN FRONT OF YOU IN TRAFFIC (CUZ YOU KNOW HE'S A BONEHEAD:crazy: )CUT IN FRONT OF YOU, AND THINK THERE MUST'VE BEEN A GOOD REASON WHY HE NEEDS TO GET SOMEWHERE AS FAST AS HE CAN. AFTERALL, THAT IS POSSIBLE. (OK. I THINK THIS ONE IS DOABLE FOR ME TOMORROW. I DO LIVE IN CHI-TOWN AFTERALL)

MAYBE TODAY'S THE DAY YOU DON'T SLAM THE PHONE DOWN ON THE TELEMARKETER, BUT LISTEN, AND THEN POLITELY SAY NO THANKU, OVER AND OVER AGAIN, IF NECESSARY.

THESE KINDNESSES CAN BE FOR TOTAL STRANGERS, AQUAINTANCES OR SOMEONE YOU LOVE.

THESE ARE JUST A FEW, SMALL WAYS WE CAN PUT A SMILE ON SOMEONE'S FACE. AND IF WE'RE FORTUNATE, WE'LL PUT A LITTLE WARMTH IN THEIR HEART. AND WHO KNOW'S, MAYBE THEY'LL PAY IT FORWARD TOO, AND MAYBE, JUST MAYBE, THE WORLD WILL BE A LITTLE HAPPIER BECAUSE OF THE BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE HERE ON SITCOMSONLINE!

SO, I WOULD LIKE FOR ANYONE WHO FEELS COMFORTABLE, TO PLEASE LET US ALL KNOW WHAT YOU HAVE DONE TO SHOW SOME KINDNESS TO ANOTHER HUMAN BEING, OR PERHAPS ITS AN ANIMAL. IT CAN BE ANYTHING. AS LONG AS IT'S TRUTHFUL AND CLEAN. I'M HOPING THIS WILL BE A DAILY ROUTINE. AND PLEASE DON'T BE SHY TO SHARE YOUR STORY OR STORIES; AND BY ALL MEANS, TELL US HOW YOU FELT BY DOING YOUR GOOD DEED. MAYBE THE PERSON DIDN'T SHOW APPRECIATION, BUT YOU STILL FELT GOOD THAT YOU DID IT. YOU DON'T HAVE TO LIMIT IT TO ONE GOOD DEED, EITHER. THE SKY'S THE LIMIT. WHO SAYS YOU HAVE TO GIVE CARS AWAY OR MILLIONS TO CHARITY LIKE OPRAH? I THINK WE ALL CAN DO QUITE WELL, THANKU:D
WHO KNOWS? MAYBE WE'LL EVEN SURPRISE OURSELVES:)

PERHAPS BY SHARING YOUR STORIES, OTHERS WILL GET IDEAS ON HOW TO BE A BETTER FORCE FOR GOOD, ALSO. HEY-WE GOT A FEW COUNTRIES HERE, TOO, SO LET'S SEE HOW WE CAN AFFECT THE WORLD, ONE PERSON AT A TIME. NO GOOD DEED IS TOO SMALL. REMEMBER THAT! I PROMISE YOU!

AND I DON'T WANT THIS TO EXIST JUST AROUND THIS TIME OF YEAR. I EXPECT THIS BOARD TO BE ALIVE AND WELL ONE YEAR FROM NOW. SO, INVITE OTHERS, TOO.

ALSO, PLEASE LET US KNOW IF SOMEONE DID A KINDNESS FOR YOU TOO; AND WHO KNOWS, UNBEKNOWNST TO YOU, MAYBE IT WAS A FELLOW FRIEND FROM SITCOMSONLINE;)

THE END RESULT? I HOPE ALL WHO TAKE PART IN THIS "WILL FIND GREATER HAPPINESS IN GIVING THAN RECEIVING", AND TO BE ENCOURAGED BY OTHERS, AS WELL AS ENCOURAGING OTHERS, ALL THE WHILE GROWING CLOSER TO OUR SITCOMSONLINE FAMILY. I AM CONFIDENT THIS WILL ALL HAPPEN, EVEN IF WE'RE INVOLVED JUST A LITTLE. THE POINT, IS THAT WE'RE INVOLVED:)

SO...SEE YA ON THE BOARDS FRIDAY:wave: I LOOK FORWARD TO THE FIRST DAY OF YOUR STORIES; AND IN A YEAR FROM NOW, I KNOW I WILL SEE ALL THE GREATNESS I KNEW WAS INSIDE OF EACH OF YOU. THANK YOU FOR PAYING IT FORWARD:)

OK, I'LL START. SINCE IT'S COLD HERE IN CHICAGO, AND I HAVEN'T LEFT THE HOUSE YET TODAY, AND DON'T KNOW THAT I WILL, I'LL HAVE TO DO SOMETHING FOR ONE OF MY ROOMMATES. I DON'T THINK COLLECTING THE GARBAGE BAGS AND SETTING THEM BY THE DOOR FOR SOMEONE ELSE TO TAKE OUT COUNTS. SO, I THNK I'LL HAVE TO PREPARE FOR THE OUTSIDE AND DO IT MYSELF, SO NO ONE ELSE WILL HAVE TO. THERE. I FEEL GOOD...AND COLD:)

I WOULD LIKE TO SHARE A KINDNESS THAT HAS BEEN DONE FOR ME BY ONE OF MY FELLOW FACTS OF LIFE FANS. A BIG SHOUT OF THANKS! GOES TO GILDA. NOT ONLY HAS SHE DOWNLOADED ONE ENTIRE EPISODE FOR ME TODAY, BUT TWO! AFTER I DOWNLOAD IT, I'M GOING TO PASS IT ON AND PUT IT ON MY VIDEO THREAD, SO OTHER FACTS FANS CAN TAKE A SHARE IN IT. THIS MADE MY DAY:D

SEE, WE DON'T HAVE TO DO ANYTHING H-U-G-E. JUST DO SOMETHING TO MAKE SOMEONE ELSE FEEL BETTER, WHICH IN TURN, WILL MAKE YOU FEEL BETTER. DON'T THINK SO? POST YOUR STORY ON HERE:)

There is this particular homeless man I see weekly. I always give him $5 or $10 when I see him. He has this look on his face everytime that looks as if he is shocked. His voice when he tells me "Thank you and God Bless you" tells me a lot. He is very gracious and thankful for the money I give him. It hurts me to see him, knowing he must be alone.

There are many times also when I see an elderly person with groceries, I will let them go ahead of me.

That is really beautiful Irene. Good for you!!

I don't go to the grocery store often, but when I do, I must look like I work there because people constantly come up to me and ask me where things are, what does this say, etc. Most of them are elderly people, so I just figured they can't tell. But I always help everyone who asks. This one man asked me why this paper towel which are the same thing cost different amounts. I told him because one was paper towel and the other was toilet paper. He was very grateful since he needed both. :) Another man showed me this little piece of meat that cost 24 dollars. And we were both wondering if this was a typo or not, because if it wasn't he wouldn't pay it. I think we both had fun standing there talking to each other. :)

Well, thanks for including me in this thread, JO jr. I always try to be polite, I hold open doors for people, help them pick up stuff they dropped, say please and thank you, smile and say hello if I catch someone staring at me. I really don't go out of my way to be kind, but I am polite.

I so agree with you. It's the little things that touch people. I know I have had people be so nice or generous to me in more ways than one and it stays with me forever. I want to be able to give that kind of random act of kindness to someone, because you never know what kind of day they are having.

When I tip at a restaurant, I always give more than is required and also, we always give it to them rather than leave it at the table.

When we were in Arizona in September, we ate at a restaurant where a young guy was our waiter. He was here in the U.S. all alone, his family was in Costa Rica. He was a student at the university. He was so nice to me and my family. A week later, I bought a card and sent it to that restaurant and let that young man know how he touched us with his story. I received a small letter back from him thanking us for our concern and the large tip we left him.

OH, CONTRAR:D

FIRST, YOU'VE MADE MY WEEKEND WITH THE FACTS EPISODES! I'VE SAVED THEM AND PUT THE LINK ON THE THREAD FOR OTHERS TO ENJOY.

BESIDES, THERE ARE TOO MANY IMPOLITE PEOPLE THESE DAYS! IT'S LIKE PULLING TEETH TO GET SOMEONE TO SAY, "I'M SORRY" IF THEY BUMP INTO YOU, OR "THANK YOU", IF YOU HOLD THE DOOR OPEN.

LIKE I SAID BEFORE. EVEN IF PEOPLE ARE NOT GRATEFUL, AT LEAST YOU SHOULD FEEL GOOD THAT YOU DID A GOOD DEED, OR SAID A KIND WORD. IT'S GOOD FOR YOUR HEALTH, AND QUITE POSSIBLY THEIRS:)

LASTLY, WHY AM I NOT SURPRISED THAT SO FAR MY FELLOW FACTS OF LIFERS ARE THE ONLY ONES WHO HAVE RESPONDED TO THIS THREAD? WELL, FRANKLY, OTHERS WHO SEE THIS CAN THINK IT'S A STUPID THREAD OR WHY BOTHER. THAT'S OK. IT'S LIKE I'VE MENTIONED OVER ON FACTS, YOU'RE SOME OF THE KINDEST PEOPLE, AND THANK YOU FOR PROVING ME RIGHT.

You know, when we were in Las Vegas, I ran into so many nice people. People were so corteous. I would think that some place like Vegas, it would be filled with rude and crude people. Wrong!

Also, I hate when I hold open a door for someone and they DON'T ACKNOWLEDGE IT with a thank you. Makes me wanna say, "Forget you then!"

I offered to take my sister to the main post office to pick up a certified letter when I could've just gone straight home and crash and sleep. And, I was rather tired as well. It's a miracle because I am usually easily cranky towards my sister.

JO jr., I had a difficult time reading your long first post because it's in ALL caps. Makes it tiring for the eyes to read. I'm sorry. I tried to read it.

HEY MIKE-CAN YOU PLEASE TELL ME HOW I CAN TRANS A PHOTO FROM ON SITE TO TO SITCOMSONLINE? I TRIED IT, AND IT DIDN'T GIVE ME THE OPTION. I'D LOVE TO ADD SOME PICS TO YOUR FACTS ANNIV THREAD, AS WELL AS YOUR JO/NANCY & BLAIR/LISA THREAD:D

WELL, I'M OFF TO DO LAUNDRY. HAVE A GREAT DAY BUDDY, AND CATCH YA ROUND THE BOARDS:cool:

ME-TV DOESN'T HAVE WHICH EP'S THEY'RE SHOWING FOR A LOT OF THEIR SHOWS, SO I CAN'T POST IT. DO YOU THINK YOU SHOULD SET YOUR RECORDING TIMER, IN CASE IT'S ONE YOU WANT TO SEE?

GO BEARS! HEY COACH: GIVE GROSSMAN 1/2 GAME (AND THAT'S GENEROUS FOR ME), IF HE'S NOT CUTTING IT, CUT THE CRAP & PUT IN # 2!

WHAT'S WITH THESE CHICAGO COACHES NOT WANTING TO PULL THEIR STARTERS? IS IT BECAUSE HE'S BEEN SO ADAMENT ABOUT REX, THAT HE'S AFRAID IF HE DOES PUT GRIESE IN, THAT HE WILL ACTUALLY DO WELL, AND THAT MIGHT MAKE HIM LOOK BAD; OR THAT HE KNOWS THE FANS WILL WANT GRIESE IN FOR GOOD? ISN'T THIS GAME ABOUT WINNING ABOVE ALL ELSE?

YES, WE'RE IN THE PLAY-OFFS; HOWEVER, I DO NOT THINK AT ALL, THAT WE WILL GET INTO THE SUPERBOWL WITH REX, UNLESS HE MAKES SOME DRASTIC CHANGES! IT'S FUNNY, PEOPLE WERE ON THIS REX BANDWAGON WHEN THEY WON SOME ?'ABLE GAMES, AND I WAS LIKE, "ARE YOU KIDDING?" HE SUCKED, AND IF IT WEREN'T FOR DEFENSE, SPECIAL TEAMS, ETC. WE WOULD NOT HAVE WON THOSE GAMES. HE WAS FORTUNATE WITH SOME OF THOSE CATCHES, CUZ THOSE COULD HAVE BEEN INTERCEPTED EASILY! NOW I'M GLAD PEOPLE ARE ON THE SAME PAGE AS JO jr. BOUT TIME:crazy:

REMEMBER DUSTY & THE CUBS' PITCHERS? I'M GLAD HE'S OUT! MAD ME SO  KEEPING PITCHERS IN, TAKING OTHERS OUT. WHAT THEY HEY MAY! GONNA WATCH THE GAME MIKE? YOU'LL HEAR ME-I'LL BE THE ONE YELLING AT THE TV THRU THE GOOD AND THE BAD-NO KIDDING:lol:

I WISH I COULD COACH-SERIOUSLY. I'M SUCH A SPORTS NUT. I MUST SAY, THOUGH, THAT AS A WOMAN, I LOOOVE TO SEE FEMALE SPORTS REPORTERS, THAT ACTUALLY KNOW WHAT THEY'RE TALKING ABOUT.
WHAT A JOB:D

SORRY ABOUT THE RANT MIKE...I WANT ANOTHER SUPERBOWL VICTORY! I WAS A JR. IN H.S. WHEN THE BEARS WON IN 85, AND REMEMBER IT VIVIDLY:)

Hi Jodi :D

I just save the photos onto my computer and then I download them to here at Sitcoms Online by using "Manage Attachments". I'm guessing that is pretty much what everyone does. Of course, I'm not sure if that is the case. I know of no other way to download photos because I don't know all that much about how computers work, I'm affraid.

This weeks "Facts" epsiodes on Me-TV are "Ballroom Dance" (Tuesday), "Tootie Drives" (Wed.), "Stake Out Blues" (Thursday) and "The Agent" (Friday). I always check TV Guide Online at the beginning of the week to see which episodes are being shown. This afternoon "3,2,1" was shown and I loved it! :D

I hope that you don't think less of me as a guy, but I actually hate football.

WHATCHUTALKINBOUT MIKE! THAT'S IT-OUR FRIENDSHIP IS OVER;)

THANKS FOR THE ADVICE. I'M GONNA TRY TO POST THE PICS:)

I SAW & TAPED (YET AGAIN) 3,2,1. I WAS SO EXCITED THAT IT WAS ON. IT IS ON OF MY FAV'S, AND HAS SOME REALLY GREAT SCENES AND QUOTES (I LISTED THEM ON MY TRIVIA THREAD PREVIOUSLY).

INCIDENTALLLY, I KNOW I MENTIONED IT BEFORE, BUT LISA SAID THIS WAS HER FAVORITE EP. SHE LOVES TO DO PHYSICAL COMEDY ABOVE ALL ELSE.

I CANNOT WAIT TO SEE BALLROOM DANCE AND TOOTIE DRIVES. OH MAN, JUST THINKING ABOUT THAT EP WHEN EVERYONE IS TRYING TO TEACH TOOTIE TO DRIVE, YET THEY WON'T LET HER LEAVE THE GARAGE; AND THEN WHEN NATALIE SNEAKS IN THE BACK, AND THERE'S ALL THIS CHAOS...I'M CRACKING UP NOW:rofl:

WELL, ON MY WAY HOME TONIGHT, I BROKE UP A FIGHT, KINDA. THERE WERE THESE 2 MEN, PUTTING UP FISTS, LIKE THEY THOUGHT THEY WERE IN A PROFESSIONAL RING, AND THEY WERE PUNCHING EACH OTHER IN THE FACE.

I HONKED MY HORN AS I WAS PASSING THEM, THEN STOPPED MY CAR. THEY SAW ME, AND SAW THAT I STOPPED RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET (I ALREADY CHECKED TO MAKE SURE NO ONE WAS BEHIND ME). THEN THEY GOT INTO THEIR VAN AND DROVE OFF.

WHO KNOWS, MAYBE FRIENDS DUKING IT OUT OVER WHO KNOWS WHAT. I KNOW, SOME OF YOU ARE THINKIN IT WAS OVER A WOMAN. COULD BE. BUT THOSE DUDES AINT FIGHTIN ON THIS WOMAN'S WATCH!

Every year my family donates toys to the Marines "Toys for Tots" program. Well, we had already done it for this year when there was a story on TV last night that touched my heart and made me cry.

Someone broke into a trailer that was used to store toys for children that either have cancer, or are recovering from cancer. The local police officers hold this every year. Well, their Christmas party is this Saturday. My husband, son and I were watching the story on TV and they said that they were hoping that people in the community would come forward with donations. Well, before I could even say anything to my husband my son pipes up "Mom! We have to donate some toys to those kids!" I smiled thru my tears and said something real profound like "Yeah Chris." It was pretty much all I could choke out at the time. So, tonight we are making a trip to Target to pick up some toys for the children and then we are going to drive down to drop off the toys.

Not sure if this is an act of kindness, but it makes me feel good to know that my 9 year old son is thinking of others during Christmas!

SEEMS YOU'VE TRAINED YOUR SON WELL. EVEN THOUGH CHILDREN CAN BE GENEROUS BY NATURE, IT IS THE PARENTS THAT NEED TO SET THE EXAMPLE AND NURTURE THIS BEAUTIFUL QUALITY WITHIN THEIR CHILDREN.

LOOKS AS IF YOUR WHOLE FAMILY HAS DONE A RANDOM ACT OF KINDNESS, NOW WOULDN'T IT BE NICE IF ALL FAMILIES WERE SO CONSIDERATE OF OTHERS SO MUCH SO THAT IT MOVED THEM TO ACTION ALL YEAR ROUND?

THERE ARE PLENTY OF OPPORTUNITIES TO HELP OUT OUR FELLOW HUMANS, NOT ONLY AROUND US, BUT WORLDWIDE. THE QUESTION IS, WILL WE MAKE AN ACTIVE CHOICE TO HELP OUT? I KNOW EACH OF CAN, IN THE SIMPLIST OF WAYS. AND DO YOU KNOW HOW I KNOW? LOOK AT THE ACTS OF KINDNESSES OF THIS BOARD. SOME ARE BIGGER THAN OTHERS, BUT THEY ALL HAVE ONE THING IN COMMON-KINDNESS. SOMETIMES IT IS FREE, SOMETIMES IT MAY COST US A LITTLE SOMETHING, BUT IN THE END, IT IS PRICELESS.

SO THANKU MY FRIENDS FOR SHARING YOUR KIND-HEARTEDNESS NOT ONLY WITH OTHERS, BUT TO MYSELF AND THOSE WHO WILL READ THIS. I HOPE THIS BOARDS CONTINUES TO GROW, AND AS YOU LIST MORE OF YOUR GENEROSITY, I EARNESTLY WISH THAT IT WILL MOVE MORE PEOPLE TO ACTION. SO MUCH SO, THAT WE WILL CONTINUE TO GROW IN OUR LOVE FOR HUMANKIND:heart:

This was a great idea for a thread. Reminds me of a thread I was going to start, only it was going to be called S.O. acts of kindness, where members would be able to share their stories of acts of kindness done for them by fellow members. It would probably take me a week to express the kindness which has been shown to me here at S.O. alone. LOL!

WELL, ACTUALLY, FELLOW SITCOMONLINERS IS WHAT I HAD IN MIND WHEN I STARTED THIS THREAD, BUT THEN THOUGHT I'D BROADEN IT. BY ALL MEANS, THOUGH, IF ANYONE THAT HAS A S.O. STORY, PLEASE POST!

AND I AGREE WITH YOU, THE KINDNESS BY THE PEOPLE ON S.O. IS WONDERFUL:D

TO BE MORE SPECIFIC, I TRULY STARTED THIS THREAD BECAUSE OF OTHER FACTS OF LIFERS. I'M MAINLY ON "THE FACTS OF LIFE" BOARD EVER SINCE I DISCOVERED S.O.; AND FOR ME, THOSE PEOPLE ARE VERY KIND AND HELPFUL. AFTERALL, THEY DON'T GET TOO UPSET WITH ME (I THINK) WHEN I:rant::lol:

MY LITTLE GROUP OF HOMIES FROM WYOMING (AND YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE;)) ARE VERY SPRECIAL TO ME, IN THAT THEY HAVE EACH TOUCHED MY HEART IN SOME SPECIAL WAY. SO TO THEM, ESPECIALLY, I SAY THANKU FOR SHOWING ME YOUR KINDNESS AND ALLOWING ME TO BE PART OF YOUR S.O. LIFE AND EVEN BEYOND, IN SOME CASES:winkgrin
