Kay Scarpetta 11-30-2001, 08:08 PM I did it this year already and my time was 6 min 10 seconds.. I dunno if that's good or not. But in gym I usually stay out of the running sports. In gym I just usually swim or lift weights

LaverneShirley 11-30-2001, 08:48 PM ROFL, my FASTEST time ever was 9 minutes, 28 seconds. My slowest time, 17 minutes on the dot. I usually averaged around 12 or 13 minutes, though. Actually, I didn't really RUN it. I walked most of it. I probably only ran 1/4 each time. I'm just not a runner.

Karli, don't misunderstand this question. You might want to double check your time. I'm a distance runner and have been most of my life. So I know what that time, run by an untrained 14?? year old girl, would mean to any coach who happened to be paying attention. You would be aggressively recruited to the cross country and track team. If your time is correct you should consider that.
ILuvJo&Blair 11-30-2001, 09:23 PM My fastest time was 5 minuts and 27 seconds, and that wa when I was in 7th grade.

Totally, Karli. If you can run a mile in that amount of time and you have never trained and rarely run, then you have a gift. You should really consider running track because you would have many coaches across the country looking at you. That time is amazing for someone who rarely runs!

Max Whittaker 11-30-2001, 10:46 PM I have thought about taking track. But I haven't yet. I like to run for fun.
Meg07945 11-30-2001, 11:05 PM We run a mile before each gym class. We don't time ourselves though. Anyway, I haven't run it in a while -- I'm taking health this marking period

nancysbiggestfan 11-30-2001, 11:45 PM Bad subject to bring up with me.LOL. I walked a mile in lets see 15min. LOL. I haven't ran one yet. I just..can't. It takes 4 laps around the track to make 1mile at my school. I can only run 1 lap continuously and then I get too tired and it hurts when I breathe so I walk a lap then run one...You get it.
But I have never timed it that way.

Nancysbiggestfan: I called the felony division of theSFPD They were quite concerned about your conditioning routine. They asked me to advise you too please pump it up a notch. They said that they want you to be able to out run the bad guys.
Chocoholic 12-01-2001, 12:20 AM I can run 10 miles in 30 seconds, LOL! http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/wink.gif
Seriously, I'm not much of a runner. I think my best time was 11 minutes or something like that.
vienna waits 12-01-2001, 12:38 AM About 12 minutes.. I HATE running the mile. And we actually get graded on it and thats an F but I still got an A in the class.
dawsongirl 12-01-2001, 12:56 AM My fastest was 9 minutes. My motivation? There were cute guys on the track, including the guy I had a crush on for years. Trust me ladies, it works!! Every other year it was 10-12 minutes.

I think it's awful that teachers grade something like that. Some people are just not runners and never will be (me!). At least you got an A in the class.
Beruche 12-01-2001, 01:45 AM I am the slowest person on earth!my fastest time was 9 minutes my slowest was 14 minutes.Usually I get done in 10-11 minutes but I'm still slower than every one else.I hat Running.

Krisalicious 09-28-2003, 09:50 PM Ooh, good topic, so I think I'll bump it up.
ehh I suck at the mile..I think my fastest was like 8:30..ew.
My fastest for the half mile was a little less than 4 minutes.
My fastest for the quarter mile was about 1:40....I don't know how I did that...
And my best for 2 miles was like 21 something...oh god. Two miles hurts but I can do a mile without a problem *shrug*
Small Wonderian 09-28-2003, 10:15 PM The last time I timed myself.....I ran one mile in 5 minutes and 27 seconds.
Brad Russ 09-29-2003, 12:01 AM The last time I ran the mile I was 15 years old, and my time was 6:22. I was never in track, so considering that, I think that's a pretty good time. My best lap ever was 1:06. My brothers best mile was under 5 minutes. He was on the track, and Cross Country team though, and ran in State all four years of High School, so that's understandeable.
