I don't think it was a Big deal, the Player was looking down at the floor when Knight was trying to talk to him and Knight just took his hand and tap him on his chin so he could look him in the eye while he was talking to him. Plus the Player had no problem with it so I really don't know why ESPN is making this into a HUGE sports story

Maybe it wasn't a big problem, but it could have been. If that kid's teeth or tongue are in the wrong position, he could have a couple busted teeth, and maybe a mangled tongue. He hit him pretty hard.

You're damn right that was an assault. The guy had his hand balled up in a fist, and smacked him right on the chin. You put your hands on someone in an aggressive manner like that, and it's assault. Playing a children's game is no reason to hit someone. It's a GAME, not real life. If that kid did something reckless and endangered lives, MAYBE it would be ok to slap him upside the head, but to do what Knight did was inexcusable.

No, it wasn't extreme violence, but in my opinion it was far from being just a tap. It looked like it would have stung a little, and if you look at the player right after he did it, he seemed quite shocked.

I wonder if Bobby will ever learn that you can't just go around putting your hands on someone, just because you feel like it?? Somehow I doubt he will.

Just because he was pissed would that make it assult? I'm not a Knight fan but I think it's being made into to much of a big deal because it is Knight. As someone who follows baseball, I agree with sports and their having their "own rules". As for those parents and the player, I am sure it is all abt the game and the fact that maybe they don't want to "tip the boat over". If the player stands up for himself, he most likely would be looked upon as a "wuss". If his parents stood up and said something, the son still looks like a "wuss". Along with any other repercussions. I am sure if that young man's boss did that to him, the parents would be singing a different tune. I, for one, would not allow any adult to place their hands on my child, not even for a college game.

My eldest daughter was the the only freshman player on a varsity basketball team. That coach would yell, scream, use profanity and occasionally throw a chair in the locker room. But! never did she ever put her hands on my child or any other player. Had she, I would have yanked my daughter off that team so damn fast and then some.
