Ok, so we're going to be starting the long-awaited Smurftractor Awards this month, and it's going to carry over into next. This is thread thread where you nominate choices for all categories (NO voting). In order for a nomination to go on the ballot, the choice has to be at least seconded.

As for voting, that'll probably take place in a few weeks. The votes will be PMed to me and will be due on a date (not yet announced). The awards show probably isn't going to happen until late December/early January. I'll volunteer to CO-WRITE the awards, but i need other people to help...so PM me/tell me on MSN if you're interested.. The position is now FILLED. You snooze, you lose :snob:

As for nomination guidlines: You don't have to nessacarily pick things that happened on SO (like, for the writing award, you can pick an episode of AI: TS from GSS, or for best moment, it can be an MSN/AIM moment). I'm also still open to any other categories you think should be added. You can have more then 1 nomination for a category, but don't make it too extreme, like, don't nominate EVERYONE for nicest member -_-.

ok, instead of just choosing things that have been seconded, we're going to do a different nomination format. round 1 is the same (this round) but we're changing the format of what nominees are going to make the official ballot.

we take all the choices everyone made (some unreasonable or unsuitable ones may be removed, though) and add them to a poll (not a real one, one simular to this one). then, everyone has to choose 4, no more, no less, of EACH category (you cant skip any categories. if there's parodies or something you havent seen, then links can be posted). the 4 with the most votes from each category will move on to the final ballot.

so...yeah, just a heads up :) this was done to cut down each category a bit, since some were already up to 7 or 8 nominees (best obession had like, 10)

oh and since there's only 4 possible choices for new member, those 4 (HoHo, Jeremy, Karen, Courtnee) will automatically be on the final ballot.
