Were "The Academy" and "Jo's Cousin" more attempts for a Spinoff Series? (Like Season 2's "Brian and Sylvia?")

View Full Version : The Academy and Jo's Cousin....Ugh! Buffyboy323 11-13-2006, 09:41 AM Were "The Academy" and "Jo's Cousin" more attempts for a Spinoff Series? (Like Season 2's "Brian and Sylvia?") Gilda 11-13-2006, 11:31 AM Yes, they were and I hate it when shows do that. Married With Children had a couple of episodes like that too. They show the academy boys in The Big Fight too, and that is way worse then the Academy. Buffyboy323 11-13-2006, 04:41 PM Thanks Gilda. Gilda 11-13-2006, 06:03 PM No problem. :) KristinHerreraFan 11-13-2006, 09:34 PM I actually liked "The Academy" it was a very funny episode. folie_a_deux 11-15-2006, 12:56 AM I liked it too compared to the other spinoff attempts. At least our girls were in the episode. :P Nighthawk76 11-15-2006, 08:04 PM I like both "The Academy" and "Jo's Cousin". At least the girls have bigger roles in those two than they did in "Brian and Sylvia". folie_a_deux 11-16-2006, 02:17 AM In The Academy, I also thought Jo and the hot guy (kind of looks like Al Pacino in the second Godfather) who was supposed to be her date had good chemistry. folie_a_deux 11-16-2006, 02:19 AM I like both "The Academy" and "Jo's Cousin". At least the girls have bigger roles in those two than they did in "Brian and Sylvia". "Jo's Cousin" was alright as well. It would have been better if we actually saw Blair give Terry the makeover. Gilda 11-16-2006, 11:00 AM The makeover over the phone was the best part of Jo's Cousin and the fact that Tony was hot. Also, I actually did like the Academy, it's the Big Fight that I hate. raya 11-16-2006, 03:50 PM Of all the spinoff attempts, "The Academy" is the one I hate the least. Like said, at least all the girls have major roles in it, so it's got that going for it. I used to hate Jo's Cousin, but while far from a classic episode, it wasn't as bad as I remembered. I did like Jo calling Blair for make-up advice and Blair asking her what shaped face her cousin had. Didn't she say it looked like an egg? 80schild.com 11-17-2006, 06:37 PM I think its cool that there are two well known Canadian actors in the 'Jo's Cousin' ep. Megan follows who played Terry (we know her from Anne of Green Gables) and Donnely Rhodes who played Jo's uncle Sal (he played the dad in CBC's Danger Bay and is now on Da vinci's Inquest)... TV Guy 11-17-2006, 08:29 PM I did like Jo calling Blair for make-up advice and Blair asking her what shaped face her cousin had. Didn't she say it looked like an egg? Blair, asking about the face shape: "Is it a heart, or an egg?" Jo: "I think it's more like an apple." Blair, giggling: "Macintosh or Delicious?" I guess NBC must have thought "The Academy" had potential, since it got two back-door pilots/episodes. folie_a_deux 11-18-2006, 12:45 AM I think its cool that there are two well known Canadian actors in the 'Jo's Cousin' ep. That's where I've seen him! JO jr 11-18-2006, 12:55 PM DIDN'T HE ALSO PLAY "DUTCH" ON SOAP? I'LL HAVE TO GO REVIEW. WAZZZ UP!?. |
