I did some Sports Research on the Chicago Bulls and Chicago Bears after hearing these statements about the teams in season 2 and 3 episodes and I have to say the statements were accurate.

When J.J made his statement in 1974, the Chicago Bears were a awful 4-10 Team

When the drunk made his statement in 1975, the Chicago Bears were also a 4-10 Team

When James made his Statement in 1975, the Bulls finish that season 24-58


So It just wasn't in the TV world, the City of Chicago had bad sports Teams in the mid 70's. I just had to confirm this-lol
