I have just joined up after finding some really cheap sets for sale. Fancied one or two. Just wondering if it is any good and how reliable are feedback ratings on it? Being a Brit I have not had any experience with the service.

Any help would be appreciated:wave:

ioffer is like any site, some good members, some scammers--- some theifs (avoid ANYONE from loudon tn!)
BUT check the feedback on ioffer they have a FEEDBACK GRABBER so u can have 500 feedbacks on ebay for buying penny auctions and transfer them over and it might MAKE u LOOK like a good seller, when u arent, so be sure to check them out

There is a Latin phrase in the legal system, "Caveat Emptor", let the buyer beware. Like anything else in life it's a gamble. In many cases a real big gamble. Try to get as much info about the seller you can.

As Lamont said, Ioffer is no different from other auction sites. But it seems to me, buyers are less inclined to leave feedback on Ioffer than on Ebay. So quite often, you'll see large numbers of unrated transactions for a seller. I tend to overlook the unrated & focus on the ratio of postives to neg/neutrals & read why someone left a neg/neutral. I don't buy on Ioffer as much as Ebay, but the few times I've purchased from Ioffer, I was happy with the purchase.

One more thing, all auction sites are simply venues. So they both tend to have good sellers & bad sellers and (IMO) the feedback left by buyers is what makes the thing work or not. So just be cautious about researching the seller & only purchase from sellers with very good feedback.

The last set I got from ioffer was the complete Flintstones collection, advertised as 8/10 on quality branded discs.

What I got was a set so used and badly scratched that not one disc will play, copy or work with any file recovery software.

I've had generally good luck with what I've purchased on iOffer. I don't buy a lot, and I tend to comparison shop - I look at multiple listings, the feedback entered on iOffer transactions, the price, the way a seller answers questions, etc. There's no guarantees, but overall, I've been pleased. I've been ripped off fewer times on iOffer than on eBay, but I've bought a lot more on eBay over a much longer period of time. I think I've had something like 10 transactions on iOffer, and on eBay I've got a 518 rating, and nowhere near all of my transactions received feedback. Ugh, that's depressing ... no wonder I have so much stuff.

Before making an offer, check the seller's feedback and prior auctions on the same item to see what something has sold for in the past, then you can offer something a bit less for it. What usually happens is the seller will accept it, or counter for something higher, then you can offer something in the middle.

what he said

plus

a person can get other peoples feedback--not even theirs, and look like a big time honest seller

there are members on sitcoms right now, who have --FAKE-- feedback on their ioffer account

its not even theirs

you can import anyones into anyones account

so be very careful, on any adventure like this

once you send the money, your at the mercy of the seller

and all the fine print will not help you one bit, unless the seller is honest

and as far as reading about the other people who bought the same set

one can have unlimited accounts on ioffer and give themselves feedback for a transaction that never happened

so reading isnt going to help either

Ioffer is pretty safe now.

We've gotten rid of pretty much all the riffraff

They've all moved on to better places - some of them have set up squatters rights, here at sitcoms.

old loren can cast stones in every direction

old lorens ebay feedback is still viewable

and since old loren hasnt been on ioffer in over 8 months now, his feedback wasnt in question

i bet old joker cant do the same thing

can he ??

care to tell everyone how you all of a sudden got a bunch of feedback that wasnt yours??

or is that more cps priveledge ??

come joker,

you always seem to have no problem expressing yourself

tell the group where your ill gotten feedback came from

we are waiting

Auction sellers tend to value few discs for higher prices, so you more often than not end up with the lowest quality homemade version that exists for a show, and on the cheapest penny DVDs money can buy.

Beware, indeed!

Did anybody talk about you ??

All I said was the "RiffRaff" was chased out of Ioffer -

It's not my fault you're so insecure and think everyone is talking about you. Maybe it's a result of who you keep/kept company with - i guess it rubs off after awhile.

but what do i know ???

i never noticed

i thought you were very good at ducking the straight foward questions presented to you

where did you you get the fake ioffer feedback that you felt the need to have

its a fair question

not only is it 100% dishonest, its further compounds the matter by trying to divert attention from it

you know--a l;ie covered by another lie

and as far as your slight of hand comment about the riff raff not being on ioffer anymore

it seems like im the only person on this site, that was on ioffer and isnt anymore

and you posted exactly after me

so theres little doubt who your refering to

instead of ducking and jiveing

just tell everyone why you felt the need to use false feedback

we have established that you do have tons of fake feedback

im asking very nicely why

further

arent you still a member of the elite group

cps

i thought they had rules about not allowing public sellers

and yet you break that one as well

where is the deceit going to end ?

had enough fun yet??

i hope you still have a place in your heart for me

You have accused Joker of having fake feedback, but you have not established anything
Okay, I'll bite: prove it to us.

go to his ioffer home page

look at the feedback number

then look at how many he imported from another source

which of course is 3/4

he didnt have an ebay account of his own

so the only way he could import feedback

was by using someone elses

someone who actualy earned the feedback

and allowed him to use it

yes many ioffer sellers do the same thing as joker did

its just plain wrong

then old joker diverts attention to me

ill now prove my feedback was legit

my long ago closed ebay account can still be looked at

lorenw is the user name

1323 feedback score

with only 1 negative

i signed up in 1997

i imported this feedback into ioffer and then got another couple hundred on the site

its legit to import your own earned feedback on ioffer

which of course that shows on my ioffer--closed--account

loren

now i sure hope that this once and for all shows whom has legit feedback, and whom has fake feedback

i understand how joker needed to divert the attention and try and make me the one who is trying to pull something

whith the pot and kettle story, and then the casting stones story

so now ill offer up the same question again

hey mr joker

why did you resort to using fake feedback to trick buyers???

i bet we dont see an answer this time as well

garsh, should i go on and expose a few more people with fake feedback while im at it

no, not until they run their mouth behind me

i have been gone for over a week, and i sure as heck didnt start this, but ill certainly pose the hard questions

ok old buddy joker, its time for you to rattle someone elses cage

try someoen that doesnt bite

Dude, you just don't get it ...

I COULDN"T CARE LESS IF YOU THINK I HAVE FAKE FEEDBACK !!

In fact, I think I prefer you think I have fake feedback.
My reputation is established whether you like it or not - Having or not having feedback doesn't mean s**t to me?

The less you can link up to me, the better (there's a bigger picture here to consider) And I'm not playing your silly game as much as you'd like me to

Can I be any more clear?

As for CPS, no longer a member there either. My creativity on the board was being stifled. I need artistic freedom and I just wasn't getting it there. Learned a lot of technical stuff from LS, Phillip and some other people there, but I had to move on - how many times can I verbally abuse Ninjastriker ?? c'mon!!. :D Besides, all the good action is here and I didn't want you to be all by yourself - who would bring out the best in you if I wasn't around.
We're a team - "The Greatest Show on Sitcoms"

Now, back to you.

Why so insecure Big Guy!? You are the President & CEO of the "Loren Empire" aren't you. The baddest dude in bootleg dvd's - Why are you so threatened by a lil' ol hoser from the great white north?

You know, there used to be a lady on this board who displayed the same kind of paranoia - she kept crying about how everyone "was talking about her" and crying to moderators about how people were calling her these bad names and stuff .... lived around your neck of the woods I think .... maybe an hour and half away or so, wouldn't you say ??? hey, that's probably nothing on your "Goldwing" right ? A nice Sunday afternoon drive to the big city ... maybe pop in and say hello to an old friend ..... go out for a bite or some drinks .... then later go back to her place ......

The Freddy's Nightmares sets that are up on iOffer, I made. All four different versions of them. Lord knows which one is which since disc count is the same on all. The first version is really crappy.

The Midnight Caller episodes that pop up there, came from me and mhadley.

Both are pretty widely circulated somehow, yet I've seen very few trades, and the iOffer people keep making bank. Almost makes one wish they hadn't bothered creating a set in the first place. Blargh.

So will I:

Do you think? My guess would have been the exact opposite. Certainly the vast, vast majority of people I trade with here are hobbyists, not dealers.

the statement i made refered to all sitcoms trade area regulars

not just a few folks that are in one persons trade circle

and even the folks you refered to, are sellers and high priced sellers at that

i happen to make it my business to know the names of people who sell and where, since so many use cover names

its not real tough, since im one of the first to be offered what ever is around, even if i already have it on my list for 6 months months

many of the same folks that run off at the mouth against sellers, or profit takers, what ever the term is today

are also just jealous sellers in their own right, trying to discredit someone else, so they can get some of the pudding for themselves

and then in truth, the next time they have a fish on the hook, they knock at my door, so they can make a return on their investment

just a little while ago, one of these very same people posted here that sellers use cheapo discs , another lame attempt to further discredit other sellers, when in truth, the very same person is a very high priced seller themselves

a majority of people here have an agenda,

loren
