I own three of them- Don't Just Stand There, Patty, and Songs of Valley of the Dolls. Which ones am I missing? Has anybody heard these? :)

Has anybody heard these? :) TV Knowledge Fan 10-03-2006, 03:44 PM ..'seventies'. She recorded them for United Artists records in 1965 [they also co-produced her TV series], and she had a pretty good set of pipes, even though she didn't consider herself a "singer". The third album was released in conjunction with her "big" 1967 film, but wasn't a personal triumph for HER. She went through a lot of personal problems before, during and after filming of "Dolls", and she didn't sound "so good" as she did on her earlier records. The "original soundtrack" album I have, but NOT "Songs Of...". :read: Li-Sung 12-30-2006, 07:00 PM Did she not also sing "Say something funny to me?" TV Knowledge Fan 01-31-2007, 05:54 PM "Say Something Funny" WAS one of her "Top 40" hits released in 1965, 'Li-Sung'. But it was the last one. gidgetgrape 02-17-2007, 11:26 PM I love "Patty Duke Sings Songs from Valley of the Dolls and other selections." Come Live with Me is my favorite. I think even if I wasn't a Valley of the Dolls fan, I would still love it. miley&billyrayfan 08-17-2007, 01:24 AM 4 albums one remains unreleased. its her best recordings ever. it was called the folk album. go here to download it from mp3. http://www.topqualityrockandroll.com/mm-Unreleasedrecord.html li-sung is not recorded by her dude. miley&billyrayfan 09-14-2007, 10:10 PM there is still more unreleased songs in the vaults. the other lp that is not listed cause it only has 3 songs by patty the billie soundtrack. OH Nuts! 09-18-2007, 11:40 PM Patty could really sing...that's for sure! I loved her singing--esp, in The Valley Of The Dolls. MickeyMac 07-29-2008, 06:40 PM I got out my copy of the Don't Just Stand ThereLP and gave it a play. The title track I have always liked, but I didnt thin she did a good job on her versions of "Downtown" and "A World Without Love". Other than that its a fine album Lee G 08-01-2008, 04:10 PM My favorite Patty Duke song is Funny Little Butterflies. Patty performs the song in the season three episode- Partying Is Such Sweet Sorrow. I think Don't Just Stand There was a little too serious of a song for her to sing, lighter songs like Funny Little Butterflies were more appropriate for her at the time. |
