Netflix, video store, On Demand... or do you buy them? I used Netflix for about four years off and on, but gave it up when they started in with the throttling.

I rent my movies at a Mom & Pop video store near my home. We also order them from Comcast On Demand every now and then.

I have to be wild over a movie to buy it. I have no interest in a movie library.

I have a large movie library. I buy them, tape them off the movie channels and also On-Demand.

I get most of my movies from Netflix. I also watch free movies on Demand, and on the movie channels. I haven't been to a video store in months. With Netflix I just haven't had any reason to. I'm like you Janice when it comes to buying a DVD. I have to really love it before I'll even consider buying it.

Same here :) I started using Netflix two weeks ago and I find it amazing (then again, I am a new customer  ). Once in a while, I'll flip on my HBO on Demand and find a movie there I want to watch. I rarely rent from video stores anymore.

I'm renting from Netflix, it's really convenient for me as I work alot of hours and don't have time or feel like going out to rent a movie. I'll also buy movies from Target, Amazon, or deepdiscountdvd.com. If I really like the movie from Netflix, then I'll buy it. I have a big library and now I have to watch what I buy.

My roommate belongs to Blockbuster Online, so we always have a few movies to choose from during the week.
Sometimes I will actully go to the Blockbuster store and rent something. It's only a couple of blocks away.

I buy used DVD's from a local ebgames store in my neighborhood.

Most of the DVD's are in good shape (cleaned, not a lot of scratches).

And other times, i buy most of them from Amazon.com

I'm kind of a snob - the only movies I watch via Comcast on Demand are the HD ones. Even when I had a standard TV, I couldn't stand to watch a cropped movie. Now that I have a high-definition TV, it's even more aggravating to watch a movie that's in 4:3, taking up only the center of my screen, when I know that the film in its OAR would not only look a lot better, but take up my whole screen.

I usually buy the movies I want, usually from Best Buy or Amazon.

I can't even remember the last time I actually bought a movie.
All of my DVD purchases over the past few years have been TV shows

We have about 400 dvds in this house, and I can honestly say the 5 that I own i bought from Best Buy.

I find out when all the new movies are released and I put in my hold at my public library. Honestly, the library has a way better selection than the stores plus it is free. Whatever the library doesn't have in I just order it for free through the interlibrary loan. I should be getting "All American Girl- The Complete Series" anyday now through the library.

They just opened a new Hollywood Video in my town a few weeks ago and I never see anybody there.

A lot of mine were bought at Suncoast and then the others were from Best Buy. Aaaaand I have taped way too many to count.

I buy a lot of my movies as Tower Records. Though they tend to over charge their products, they have the largest collection of movies around. Same with music. When I was in college I worked at Suncoast for a year and we had a 40% employee discount so I tended to make the most of it.

I never buy movies because I know that I will watch them once and it's put on the shelf. I rent movies from Netflix and I also record movies from Turner Classic Movies and the Fox Movie Channel. I never watch a movie in full screen if it was shot in wide screen.

same here; if I have a choice between watching a movie in wide screen or the same movie in full screen; I'll go with wide screen. It looks SO much better! Ecspessially outer space movies like the Star Trek and Star Wars films and 2001: A SPACE ODDYSEY and other scifi ones; like THE TERMINATOR trilogy.

As for getting movies, I buy some mostly off e-bay but sometimes from places like deepdiscountdvd.com, and I rent some from Netflix.

I rent the newest ones at Hollywood Video and I usually buy DVD's at Walmart and Hastings. You can find good deals at both places.

I agree with seventies sitcom. I check out LOTS of films/TV shows from the library because it's free and you get a MUCH larger selection. You can find tons of obscure/forgotten titles that way. You can access your library online and order things that way. Then you get a confirmation voice mail telling you that what you ordered is in. So I drop things off and/or pick things up on the way to work. It's a wonderful system and I'm sorry I didn't think of it much earlier. I could have saved myself a lot of $$$!

I don't pay to rent movies much anymore but if I do I rent them at the local Blockbuster or Rogers Video (Canadian version of Blockbuster). I usually just rent movies from the Library or borrow them from friends. I also have the movie channel and just watch movies from that channel. The only movies I buy are movies I know I will watch over and over again. However, I do not hesitate to buy tv dvd's of my favorite shows that I grew up watching and no longer are shown on television. I usually buy my dvd's at Bestbuy, Walmart, or Costco depending on which place sells them the cheapest.

I use to belong to both Netflix and Blockbuster Online, but I found it taking longer to get the movies I wanted. I dropped both of them. I either get my movies from a local Blockbuster store or I get them from the WGA.

Alot of people were talking about getting movies from the library, but so many
people do this, that you can't find anything good left to watch, so you have
to rent, buy or borrow from friends.
