View Full Version : Notice all the friends George had
GARFIELDKOOL 09-07-2006, 07:24 PM His navy buddy, (Lou Gosset) his old street gang that told him to do, his old friend Johnny (Johnny Brown) man, they all were immature low lifes. I noticed none of them seem to have women in their lives! Tom and Bently were better friends for him as he got older. George's friends never grew up.
Ireneparalegal 09-07-2006, 09:20 PM I noticed that as well. Each of his old buddies had some sort of negative thing abt them. The only one who did good, was Eddie Stokes aka Edie... I mean, Eddie did nothing wrong, but in George's eyes he did...

Oh yeah, that man turned into a woman, huh?
TVFactFan 09-08-2006, 12:28 AM His friend who worked in City Hall in season 5 didn't have anything negative about him. The guy I'm talking about was BALD and played a professor at Hillman
Ireneparalegal 09-08-2006, 12:36 AM Why emphasize the BALD factor?

To see if one of you would remember him from ADW. He was Cliff's old Professor and was talking to Theo about his Dad when they went to visit Hillman

His name was Ted Ross
Ireneparalegal 09-08-2006, 12:48 AM That explains it. Some of those cosby episodes were boring as hell. That was one of them. Seen it once...once was enough.

I remember that episode. I didn't list that one because I couldn't think of the title. That dude was nasty too. He recalled some childhood stuff and took the permit away from George. He wasn't no better. He had a high position an was about to give George a permit for Louise, but he got mad at something that happened when they were kids, and george didn't get the permit. Better add him to the list. So that WAS Ted Ross aka The Lion in The Wiz.

No, it was during their days in the Navy. As a prank, George put a dress in Mayflower's locker on the day of inspection. As a result the officers thought he was into cross-dressing and had him sent to the Navy shrink. During the rest of his time in the Navy he was referred to as "Mayflower The Gayflower". He did have a change of heart, though, and was gonna give George the permit after all (until he overheard George going off about him).
Ireneparalegal 09-08-2006, 10:22 PM So basically, he was a jerk abt the permit, holding over George's head the dress situation YEARS BEFORE...

His grudge was understandable but, yeah, he still should've maintained his professionalism. He did realize he was wrong in witholding the permit, though, which is why he showed up later at the apartment.
CWDogg 09-13-2006, 02:57 AM I guess thats why George was happy about moving on up.
The only good friends George had was the couple that came over the ones that were singing " Shake Rattle & Roll" with George.
