George wanted to bring a gun in the house to protect his family and Louise saying No and then George sneaks and buys it anyways and jessica gets a hold of it and pulls the trigger making George realize that it's dangerous to have a Gun in the House. We all know where the idea to do this episode came from

What shows if any, BEFORE Good Times, had a gun episode? Was Good Times the first?

What shows since Good Times and the Jeffersons have recycled this idea?

don't forget Gunsmoke, I know a Chester episode has an episode about a farmer who wants to bring a gun in but his wife won't let him. That was early 60's.

I hate to say it but I think Solomon is right I can't think of a show that had anything to do with a gun after the GT's episode and Before The Jeffersons episode.

If you count Family Ties when Mike buys a gun against the family wishes and that was in 1982. Also in 1970 something there was an episode of Happy Days where Fonzi was shot in the butt and they were trying to figure out who shot him.

That Happy Days episode was in one of the last seasons...it featured Chachi, Potsie and Roger, by then Richie and Ralph were long gone.
