View Full Version : Just Exactly how much OLDER was Louise than George?
TVFactFan 08-31-2006, 07:49 PM There was two times when someone made fun o her age. Mother Jefferson made fun of her Age when she asked her did she remember the blizzard of 1928 and then was George was pretending to be cheating with another woman, Louise asked him how old the woman was and George said-"OLD, she is even older than You" So was Louise 10 years or more older than George?-lol
Ireneparalegal 08-31-2006, 08:14 PM I don't think so. It was obvious Mother J. was being sarcastic (as usual) and George was just being a "man" by saying something in reference to her age.

Now Irene, if anyone would know this information you know it would be The Researcher-lol
James"Thunder"Early 08-31-2006, 09:26 PM It couldn't have been that much of a difference, they both seemed to have come up around the same time from the things they talked about. I'd say maybe a year or two.

It couldn't be a year or two for George to say-"She's even older than you"lol Thay sounds like George married a Older woman. George was 46 and Louise was 54 in season 1
End of series
George was 56 Louise was 64
Just Speculation

They said their ages in season one?
When George said "She's older than you" can either be construed as sarcasm on his part (this was his nature you know) or trying to be funny.
In real life Sherman was 20 years younger than Isabel, which seemed to show in the first season. Later on, Isabel was very beautiful land had her wardrobe and make-up/hair done very nice.

But George is not going to say something like that if she wasn't older than him. George's age was stated in season as 46, so you know Louise wasn't younger that 46-lol

Why not??? I say sarcastic things to my man and abt him in front of him...he does the same...I have heard people do that all the time to be funny or sarcastic. I have told my man how I get tired of people thinking he is my father (referencing our age difference)...if one heard me say that, they may think I was being mean or honest.

I'm not saying that Louise was 20 years older on the show, i'm just saying that certain things lets you know she was older than George like 5 or 6 years. Remember how she couldn't dance every night at the disco? That was another example of her being older

So because she couldn't or didn't want to dance every night at a disco means she is older than her husband...A LOT OLDER????? Gimme a break Solomon, that is bogus. That don't mean squat. She was a heavy-set lady who would tire easily from dancing. George was thinner than her. Age has nothing to do with it. I know folks who are waaaay older than Louise appeared and they could still strut their stuff.

I think louise was lying about not remembering the blizzard of 1928 because she was over 46 on the show and when Mother Jefferson said it, it was 1976. So she could have been 8 or 9 in 1928 but she was defintely around to remember it and Mother Jefferson was around to remember the Blizzard of 88-lol They both were lying

Season 3-George

Season 3-George
I will guess that Louise was not that much older, however when Mother Jefferson referred to the blizzard, she was taking it too far like she always does and was implying sarcastically that Louise was "real old"...

But why would Mother Jefferson joke about her age if she wasn't older than George?????????????-lol I don't think she would do it if she was younger than George

I'm saying, M.Jefferson was referring to Louise being older than George, but she was exaggerrating by mentioning the blizzard of 1928. You know how she was, she would be mean abt stuff just to put Louise down. In reality Sherman was born in 1938. So you figure that was his age on the show as George. You then figure a few years that Louise was older, maybe two or three, then she would have been born around 1935, but she wouldn't be around when the blizzard was in 1928. Maybe it was an inside joke, referring to the fact that Isabel Sanford was born in 1917...

No Sherman wasn't 37 on the show, 46 years old. I'm going to say she was 5-7 years older than George on the show

Ok Irene I watched this ep again and it was the blizzard of 32 that Mother Jefferson was talking about and Louise said she wasn't that OLD-lol Now you know she was lying because if she was born in 32 that would have made her 42 at the time and she was NOT 42-lol

Now that sounds reasonable. I don't think she was 42 either. I am assuming with Lionel being what, 22 or 23 at the most. I am thinking more like 45.

Try 52-lol
Ireneparalegal 09-01-2006, 09:35 PM Now why would they have Louise be so much older than George, without explaining it in detail?

6 years is not that much older
Ireneparalegal 09-01-2006, 09:38 PM I guess it isn't...it just seems weird to me that her age would be hinted that she was older, without really coming out and saying so.

Well when George said-"SHE's EVEN OLDER THAN OLDER YOU", Louise never said-"Well you are the same age as me or You are just a couple of years younger than me"
lol

I just think it would be a great gag to have mentioned her age, or at least mentioned it straightout somehow that she was older. In my eyes, it seems like they did that knowing that she was in fact 20 years older and they probably thought the audience would wonder why she looked older than George. In my eyes, she did look older than him in the first season. Later on though, she became more glamorous, sophisticated and of course her wardrobe and hair changed for the better, which made her seem the same age as George.
