I didn't even know there was a problem. I only saw her for a few minutes, but it was not like her to not say "bye" when she walked out. When I came in, I greeted her with, "Hi! How are you?," and she said, "okay" in a cold monotone manner. Hmmmm..... Makes me confused. I won't see her until Monday, so I will be thinking a lot about it. Chelsea 03-26-2007, 10:44 AM People wonder why I'm in such a mood to transfer from Western Kentucky University to the University of Kentucky: There are only two things in this country for which WKU qualifies as a top 25 program for. Journalism/Broadcasting. And illegal music downloading. (Seriously, in a list released, WKU is 22nd among ALL universities). Way to go there Western. Brilliant. The new pain pills I was given aren't helping either. :( Feel better soon, Kelly. :bighug: swedeace 03-26-2007, 07:36 PM Max Whittaker, it doesn't matter. Self defense can also be quite a handy backup, most importantly. That pepper spray can used against a victim, so that freaks me out as well. My city is VERY unsafe. Max Whittaker 03-26-2007, 07:39 PM This society is so backwards! The politicians and bureaucrats get paid the big bucks, while the teachers and the firefighters and social workers are forced to only get by. Does that seem right to everyone? Apparently so, as it's not changing! Those that provide a service to others should be rewarded the most. This is so Wrong! Perhaps the world would be a better place if you could get rich off helping others. swedeace 03-26-2007, 07:54 PM Heck, I go to clubs by myself all the time, sometimes I even have a better time when I am alone. I used to travel to Hollywood solo all the way from San Diego; attend the clubs there. I think that Tara is right, Mona. I think that you can have just as enjoyable of a time on your own as you would with a friend. I think my point is being missed here. I didn't mean to imply that I would have a lousy time going out alone....in general. I have done so many things alone such as dining, shopping, and so on. I just meant to say that certain places and especially at night where there are dances and funner things to do certainly make me uneasy. For one thing, I do not know how to do self-defense, so I would not really be fully prepared to ward off any potential attackers. In my eyes, a girl who is alone is such an easy target. I would be really scared if some weirdo who won't take "no" for an answer would follow me around and not leave me alone and do something to me. I fear that bystanders will NOT do anything about it. So, it is up to me. I live in such a high temperamental and physically-violent state. We have such a high percentage of overall domestic violence. Therefore, something bad or fatal could happen to me in a fit of rage. I am scared. When a crowd of other friends is present, I wouldn't be such an easy target because we would stick together. All of my friends are either usually always busy or even have kids or just plain lazy and unmotivated about going out. I was like this too, but now I suddenly wanna go out more! Plus, just saying, "Make more friends with this interest" isn't helpful either. I don't know where to begin looking for these local people to befriend. I did make two friends who LOVE dancing, but when I invited one of them, she always has something going on. I get the hint she isn't too interested since we began talking months ago. I dunno. I wanna go out, damnit! :( Nighthawk76 03-26-2007, 10:25 PM I think my point is being missed here. I didn't mean to imply that I would have a lousy time going out alone....in general. Max Whittaker 03-27-2007, 12:44 AM Every once in a while, I get this feeling that I've offended a higher being. Not necessarily God, but somebody or something greater than myself. A being that I would never have offended if I had known I was about to do it. I feel as though I've done something terrible without knowing, and I could never really atone for it... I might have walked over someone's grave(whatever that means). Perhaps I stepped on a insect I shouldn't have. Yes it sounds funny. But I'm being serious. I told this to a co-worker the other day. All he said was, "I don't give a ****". Now, I realize my ideas may not be conventional. I realize my feelings fluctuate, as everybody's feeling do. But I shared something with you that I have never shared with anybody else, and I expected you to respect it. Damn you for not. And damn me for trusting you. Rest assured. That will never happen again. Theda Bara 03-27-2007, 11:24 AM I think my point is being missed here. I didn't mean to imply that I would have a lousy time going out alone....in general. I did make two friends who LOVE dancing, but when I invited one of them, she always has something going on. I get the hint she isn't too interested since we began talking months ago. I dunno. I wanna go out, damnit! :( Well that is understandable!!! Los Angeles is one of the safest cities, either; and also like you, majority of my friends are either too poor, too lazy or basically are not into the same kind of music as I am; but I go out anyways; regardless of the risks. I protect myself and tend to go to places where it is safe and I know I will not be harrassed, etc...I just cannot handle (or stand) being stuck at home on the weekends, (it depresses me), so I just go out and do it..and yeah, there are many times that I am scared or afraid, but life is too short;( to stay at home, being bored)..screw that!!!. I like going out alone now, because in a lot of ways I do not have the opition of going out with a friend or two; and also, I have found if I am out alone, I usually have a blast, because I am on my own time line (meaning, I can go if I choose, instead of the other way around, if I was with a buddy)...regardless if you do not live in the safest city, and you have this innate desire to go out; sometimes, you just have to break out of your fear and your comfort zone and JUST DO IT!!! And, I know that you are implying about going to places to dance; and what I was implying was going to clubs and bars ALONE; if I cannot find a buddy to go with me, let's say, to see a band, screw them, I will go alone; yeah, I am a little scared, but I just do it anyways; you cannot always rely on others for a good time, sometimes you have to do it alone! And the only reason I even came back today, truth be told: My Amazon order shipped here by mistake, and my insurance bill is due (which I get the pleasure of paying my freakin self, thank you very much). And I mean, yeah, I don't always completely help the matter...I could be a little neater, and if you held a gun to me I *could* do the dishes while here (and lucky me there's no dishwasher) - but having a bad day at work (the fun of managing a store) is no reason to start biting my head off the minute you walk in the door, is it? I don't do them often enough myself, but I know to do it whenever you want to go out and be active. I agree w/ Max. I actually just got back from a brisk 12-mile bike ride. That was my first ride for the season -- once I get into my stride for the season, it's not a problem for me to do 18-20 miles on my bike in a single afternoon. Really, the best thing for you to do is a variety of activities. Switch it up. :) Go jogging one week, lap swimming the second week, biking the third week. Or go jogging, and THEN swimming one day, biking and swimming the next day and so on. It's totally up to you. Just remember that when you get bored, you can always switch it up a little. Granted, I have not been as depressed and have not felt as much self-hatred toward myself since mid-March. So, that is helping so much. It's okay about the posts and stuff. I have to tell myself that the world does not revolve around me, and sometimes we all get caught up in other matters too. I understand. :) I'm happy to hear that you are feeling a little better, Mona. :) Courtnee 04-24-2007, 09:48 PM Ok, then I'll have those love particles back, if you don't mind. Max Whittaker 04-27-2007, 03:38 AM Every night, a white van drives in circles around the apartment parking lot and the parking lot next door. Sometimes it parks there. Just idling.
