You didn't like 99,000 Answer? WHY? That has everything in it.

I agree on most of the weaker eps listed, but I also loved the $99,000 Answer.

I agree with "Loudspeaker" and "On Stage," but the rest are classics.

You list it as a weker episode because of that, it is a great episode. My other favorite it Beat the Clock. Anytime he is on a game show it is funny.

Would you consider these TWO eps in the Top 5?

definetly Young at Heart, but Mambo would be further down the list.

What did you think of the Golfer and A Dog's Life.

WORST EPISODE of ALL

"Better Living Through TV"

We're the complete opposites. My list is your's switched. The ones you have listed as the weakest are most of my favorites. To each his own, I guess. "The Loudspeaker" was one of the first episodes I had ever seen. I cracked up when Norton poured out some rock candy on the floor to cure Ralph's "hicoughs". Then Ralph walks in and falls to the floor. Jackie Gleason doing the hiccups was hilarious.

"A Man's Pride" is an episode I didn't like originally. I still don't like it as a last episode. But when I watched it recently, I thought it was great. There was a line that was so silly, where Norton says to Ralph, "Now remember. You're not a bus driver. So don't give yourself away by saying 'Step to the rear of the office'." And of course Ralph's reactions when the boss came in and caught him.

On your Best list, I've always loved "Bensonhurst Bomber" In fact, that was the very first episode I ever saw. I watched it one night on WGN. The next day I went to some store and found they had all 39 episodes on VHS. I bought it and have been a Honeymooners fan ever since. Ralph punching the guy in the face was funny, because if you notice, he missed the guy's face. But he had to go down anyways.

As for your "Worst Episode of All" - I think the episode is a classic. However, when I watched it earlier today, I admit I didn't like it like I used to. My vote for the worst episode might be "A Woman's Work Is Never Done" or "Alice and the Blonde." But even the worst episodes are still funny.

Yes, the Hooneymooners eps I saw in local syndication in Philadelphia were the Lost eps, not the Classic 39

That and "$99,000 Answer" is a MUST for the best episode list. Watching Ralph driving himself crazy practicing with Norton at that piano is hilarious. The when Garrity comes storming in about the noise...and when he leaves Ralph shouts down the hallway "There ya are now loudmouth, now you woke up my wife!". To this day I still laugh as hard at that scene as I did 30 years ago. Priceless!

"$99,000 Answer" and "Better Living Through TV" are two of the strongest episodes IMO. That "Richard the Chicken-hearted" line gets me every time.

Unless it was a dream (which I doubt) I seem to remember reading somewhere that "$99,000 Answer" was nominated for an Emmy for best writing of a single episode of a sit-com. Anyone else remember this?

From TV.com:

Ralph Kramden's incorrect $99,000 answer was named number 91 on TV Guide / TV Lands 100 Most Memorable TV Moments in December of 2004.

Yes, I know, thanks. But I believe it was Emmy nominated at the time of its original broadcast. If I find out, I'll post the info.

...Leonard Stern and Syd Zelinka won a "Writer's Guild" award for "The $99,000 Answer". The Emmy for Best Comedy Writing in 1955-'56 went to the writing staff of "THE PHIL SILVERS SHOW" (headed by Nat Hiken).
