own doctor????
Someone stated he feels that a rape victim, even when being examined by a doctor who ends up raping his patient, SHOULD KNOW if she is being raped, that it is impossible for her not to know. One reason why is because of the position the doctor asked his patient to put herself on the exam table. Second, she should know what is going on "down there"...third, because his wife said IT IS IMPOSSIBLE.
Apparently what is being stated is that the victim should have known she was being raped.
What many don't know is that sometimes it is possible for a victim to NOT KNOW what is occurring...she may seriously believe her doctor is giving her an exam and doesn't realize until after that he raped her, whether with his body part, his hands or an object.
I have read many stories where rape victims spoke up and they stated they thought something was wrong with how their doctor was examining them, but because the person is a doctor, they don't question it.
It is possible that a victim DOES KNOW what is occurring but is too afraid or shocked to respond.
I don't know abt the rest of you, but being a victim of sexual molestation and a near rape, I don't find that piece of information very amusing, or whatever. Rape victims come in all shapes, sizes, colors, etc. Rapists come in all forms, men, women, teens, color of authority, different backgrounds...and most importantly rape is not done in the manner that soooo many people are "accustomed" to hearing abt.
What are your thoughts?
