"Nerdy Betty" or Dorky Betty? It's clear that the betty character is no where NEAR Ugly she just has a Nerdy type of Style with the Glasses and Dressing. So I don't know why it' being called Ugly Betty" I actually think the Betty Character is CUTE just Nerdy. it is based on a telenovela as Brian said, so the premise is that this girl is ugly, but not to say it in such a literal sense, merely that those around her are so confident and wearing the "best" clothes and styles, this poor girl doesn't fit in. They just took the title and translated it into english.

I loved the novela when it was on. I use to watch it every day. lol
