We try to get her to do at least some things, but it almost never works. She is very overweight. She's 215 lbs. and is 5'9". It's a nonstop battle with her weight. We try to get her to eat right and not as often, but she always asks, begs and demands food (all day long). Whether we just ate two minutes ago or a few hours ago she will ask for food. It sounds like you just described me there  Sorry, off topic. Being epileptic myself and battling a lot of other problems, there really isn't a lot you can do. I know I drive people crazy sometimes and the weird thing is that I didn't used to be like that. Before I had seizures, I was social, smart, and outgoing. Now I'm shy, doing poorly in school, and don't have any friends. It's just very difficult and a lot of teens with epilepsy have these problems. dawsongirl 07-24-2006, 01:41 AM Sorry if this sounds harsh, but have you ever considered sending her to a facility for mentally disabled children for awhile? There they would be able to give her the 24/7 care she needs, plus they would probably have psychiatrists there to help her with her anger, laziness, etc. It sounds bad, but it may really save your mom's life (she has heart problems, right?) And your sister would benefit from getting care she needs that you and your mom are just not able to give her. |
