Trying to confirm if it's only 5 eps of the show? Has this been confirmed through TV Guides? I saw that the show started on Oct 29, 1982 and lasted until June 16, 1983 which really makes it hard to believe it only had 5 eps.

I found this so it sounds like there is 13 episodes

The New Odd Couple

In the early 1980s, producer Garry Marshall decided to remake the Odd Couple tv show, this time with a primarily African-American cast. The show lasted from October 1982 to June 1983, which may be partly because 8 of the 13 episodes produced were simply remakes of episodes from the original series. In this series, Felix's ex-wife is named Frances, which was her name in the original play.

Where did you find that? Yeah I knew it couldn't be only 5 when I saw the starting airdate and last airdate

I got that from here http://www.oddcouple.info/otherversions.html

I would love to find an episode guide but I haven't found one yet.

I asked the people at this site http://aa.1asphost.com/CTVA/ They have a bunch of short lived series guides there so hopefully they know.

Odds are, the thirteen episodes aired straight from October 29th, 1982 to January 28th, 1983 (with one pre-emption on December 24th, 1982). The series was pre-empted on February 4th and 11th, then aired on February 18th and 25th (most likely repeats) and then was off the air through March and April. It aired again on May 13th, 20th and 26th (also probably repeats) followed by the final repeat on June 2nd, 1983.

Got those dates from The New York Times television listings.

So i'm not supposed to take shots at no one after they take a shot at me? Please don't get on my bad side Lamont. I never had a reason to dislike you so if I'm not cursing or anything then I don't see the problem. No one is going to pass out for being called stupid. if i did i would have commented on it also

BUT to be honest, i dont think ANY MEMBER OF THE BOARD needs to call anyone else Stupid, idiot or anything else like that

just doesnt make the boards a fun place

we have enough scammers, thieves and deadbeats who pop up
without the rest of us, who are decent people, calling names

ok dokey then!

seriously, commenting that name calling is not appropriate is CERTAINLY not what i would call "getting involved" at all
just making a comment that things can be handled a bit better than to go to the name calling

its NOT just you either so dont take offense, if i had seen that person call u an idiot i would have said the same thing i did earlier

anyhow, mountain out of molehill.... etc etc etc...

Just stop trying to play the role of moderator and we will be cool. No need for it at all. Let Kim step in if she needs to or just apply to be a moderator.

i dont want this to go back and forth
but i find it odd
that someone calls u an idiot
u call someone stupid

and i point out that adults should be able to resolve their problems like adults
not like 2 kids calling names
and somehow IM the one that is in the doghouse?!

im not trying to start a big deal BUT i dont think it takes a moderator to make that observation

i think that as board members, we are all free to make observations like that
and as i stated several times it was NOT personal and NOT towards u
and im sorry if u took it that way

you called him stupid then said LOL
i was just saying that if i was the one being called stupid
and then someone said LOL it wouldnt soften the blow

thats sort of like saying

I HATE YOUR GUTS just kidding
or GO TO HELL, ha ha ha

was just point out that "it dont fly with lamont" meaning i would be offended
and that i thought the other party most likely would be too
for instance--- the guy that called u an idiot
he was wrong too

would u prefer if he had said
"SOLOMON IS AN IDIOT! lol!" ?

that was my only point
dont read more into it

Here is my point, i wouldn't CARE if two members were insulting each other so why do you care so much if you are not a moderator?

Why does someone have to be a modeartor to care about insults and respect?

That goes along with the bad idea that Moderators can't care about things as members.

Maybe its time to realize that some things don't come acorss as funny
Just becuase a Ha or LOL is added.
Since this tends to come up a lot-

Humor isn't so easy to toss up on a board.
There is no facial expression, no tone in your voice.
No body language.

Maybe it would be better to stop assuming people will find humor in things, and just listen to what they are saying.

Just some free advice.

It shouldn't have to be a moderator that points out of someone is insulted or when things have gone too far.
There should be a certain amount of responsibility to the users.

I seen many arguments and it was none of my concern because I wasn't a moderator and that was between them. Now if you say something it understandable because you are a moderator.

What does this even mean? Seriously. You need to make more of an effort to make at least some semblance of sense. Maybe then you would not get into these sorts of problems so often, with people misunderstanding your posts and your point and, well, you.

Okay let me reexplain this.

Solomon- if you work with 2 guys, lets say Ted and Dan

And you three know each other and are joking around-
If you say "Oh Dan you ass" and are laudhing- Dan may laugh with you.
If Ted knows you and is sitting there and you all joke around, and he says "Solomon you son of a bitch, I told you the Browns Would win -"

You may shake your head and say Yeah what can I say--you were right

There is body language. There is a texture to it-
Facial expressions, laughter etc.

When you are online you STRIP all of that.

Your humor doens't necessariily line up.

Very few people here, know each other on a personal level.
Only from interpretation online- and I think, at times you THINK your being funny or sarcastic, and its coming off arrogent or omnicent.

I am trying to give credit that you aren't trying to insutl people in the ways that many people ARE being insulted.

You may crack your friends up at home, but online, it comes across at times- harsh, dispondent, sometimes even cruel.
And what seems to happen is it makes peopel defensive and on edge.
And then, with the slightest provocation, with the previous comments in the back of their mind, they are OVER compensating and their defensiveness is a form of retaliation.

All I am stating is, Intentions, aren't readable by text.

Understand a lol or haha don't automatically mean humor -
Enough feedbakc has been given, that your delivery of input, might need ot be touched up a bit.

This is just my opinion, and although I try to be objective- you don't have to accept it or even like it.
But I think your approach to people is under the assumption they KNOW what you mean.
And honestly, its coming across anything but funny.

We tend to take for granted things like a smile or a laugh.
But they can mean all the difference.

Sometimes I think members should not interfere in a exchange between two members, especially if they don't know we are friends. Example: Me and Ajm.

I took a "shot" at you? When did this happen and how did I miss it? I posted a rundown of the airdates for The New Odd Couple and your response to my post seemingly came out of left field. Next thing I know, you are calling me stupid (mind you, it did not hurt my feelings at all) and suddenly this entire thread has burst.

All I was trying to do was potentially help clarify the situation with regards to episodes of The New Odd Couple. And now look where we are.
