Here's my proposition. The Sharks and The Jets aka Chit Chat and The Trading Post should just call a truce. I believe we're all good people who sometimes let our emotions get the best (worst?) of us. I include myself in that category.

I want to post in any thread at all, and not stop myself because the threadstarter is someone who irks me. Sometimes, we carry anger, resentment and bitterness around. It gets heavy lugging all that. It's a burden. You set it down, and it lightens your emotional load. Dr. Phil says that we forgive, not for the other person...but for ourselves.

Let's start fresh. There will always be problems and disagreements, and always members who don't like each other. Those dynamics are part of life.

It's an old cliche, but life's too short.

Let's take it a step further, and let go of our bad feelings towards other members. Maybe it's someone who you've been avoiding here for weeks or months or even longer. Remember what it was about that person that made you like them in the beginning. If you never liked them, give them another look.

I've often found that all it takes is to quote someone and agree with them or laugh at their joke to make things right again. One gesture can wash away months of bitterness. I think, for the most part, people don't want the burden of being on the outs with anyone, in regular or online life.

Before this starts sounding like a Hallmark card (as if it doesn't already, lol), I'll end by saying....let's have fun, tears, laughs, the occasional drama. Let's not carry grudges.

I apologize to both Lamont and Harvey. I have a big brother mentality and just like to defend people who I think need it.

i think that a lot of people have been holding grudges or whatever for too long - if someone bothers you that much, you need to learn to suck it up or just put them on ignore.

I had an argument (a dumb one, I might add) with Janice over a year ago about Mary Kay Letourneau (ha) and I said some pretty mean things to her. I also had a tiff with Fleet about illegal aliens (another dumb one). I know I wasn't very nice to him and every time I think about it, I feel bad. And I definitely can understand his side of it and I'm sorry for that whole mess.


Sometimes, I think about some of the stuff I've said to people here and wonder what kind of person it makes me. I feel so bad about what I say afterwards, but when its happening, its like I dont even think twice about the other person. I need to work on that...

I saw the last Solomon thread and the members from both sides jumping in. I think the biggest problem is the "your board, my board mentality" Ultimately it is all Sitcoms Online but its seems like 2 rival schools. Someone is in the popular crowd in school A but he moves to school B and finds that he/she is not so popular over there.

We need to look at it as one board and certainly there are different cliques but I think we need to step back and not take things so personally. I can take pot shots at Monty and Harv daily and will get them back in kind and we all usually know that it is in jest. I am sure the same goes on with BD, Solomon, ect... on this side. It seems when the "lines" are crossed whomevers side gets stepped on jumps in and scream get off our board.

We (myself included) should stop looking at it as "our board" because there in lies most of the problems. I still think there will be conflicts but that is life no one likes everyone. For those that know me they know I like a good battle and certainly won't shy away but this TP/CC battle is unnecessary.

I applaud the guesture Janice and hopefully it has the desired effect. I accept the truce and would encourage others to do the same. Doesn't mean I will agree with everyone here but I will effort to drop the targeting scope.

I aint huggin Brian Damage or Solomon though nor would I hug Harv and Monty either. But I will extend my hand in truce ....

I've never had any problem with anyone from the TP board except when I felt Solomon has been attacked so if that's over, I'm sure I can get along with everybody. I remember me and Harvey did have a conversation a few months ago on one of the sitcom boards about old tv shows from the 50's. I'm always interested in them and he remembers them. I'm willing to let this silly feud die if everybody else is. I really don't enjoy fighting. It takes a lot out of you.

I've had some issues with Moonlight Lady lately and I would like to apologise for making her angry. If God forgives us, then we can forgive each other. I also owe Brian Damage and I Walk The Line an apology. Sometimes I tend to make quick judgements without getting to know people and for that I apologise. You're both really nice people and I enjoy your posts. If I've offended or hurt anyone else, I apologise for that too. :)

I would just like to thank everone that has given some words of wisdom or advice.
Like Janice and Brian Damage, and Seth, and at times TJ.
And of course members.

I don't expect everything to be candy and roses-
But I don't like logging on wondering what the fight is about "this time"

I think people are bound to argue.
But I also think at some point we have to be the better, bigger person and walk away from the opportunity to argue, or opportunity to fight.
There are a couple conversations that seem easily launched into fights, and the simple fact is all 2003 times it was had, groups A point wasn't received by Group B.
So I am glad, overlal that the majority opinion at this point is, to stop trying to prove a point, and just let a person think differently.
i also think people are recognizing when people are trying to provoke a user, and are just far less sensitive to it. Myself included.

I said it before we are ALL on ONE board, with the same Hobby here.
so when all else fails we have plenty of other palces to read and write post and add
And plenty of other people to talk to- and share with.

I am so glad some of this tension is finally fading and its feeling like a group board again instead of individual clubhouses.

I totally agree. It was just some harmless jabbing that could have been finished the first day if Harvey would have just come to the sports board. If you're going to brag about your team and down others then you should be able to take it when it falls apart. Anyhow this was all made into a lot more than it should have been. I agree ribbing about sports is nothing to get excited about but I was reffering to some other posts that some subtle jabs and lols were exchanged.

In Sol's defence it was quite mild for him and did not carry on. However there have been several threads locked on TP because of totally unrelated and insulting comments that "others" have made.

The recent posts have been provocative and insulting and had nothing to do with the thread title nor was any first shot fired at the "others". Like I said before 99% of the people I have talked with or seen here are cool but the recent "hit and run" tactics are childish and only meant to stir things up.

I happen to enjoy s... disturbers but not cowardly ones who take a shot then run and hide.
