View Full Version : How Do YOu Store Your DVD Collections?
Ant-Lox 07-09-2006, 09:56 AM Man, over the past few years, i've built up a huge DVD collection, and recently I ran out of space, and I just found a box of DVD's in my basement I forgot all about.......So Instead of deal with the annoying amount of cases, I just put most them in CD/DVD binders , the ones i really dont watch that much.....
i just filled up a 208 booklet with dvd's...i need to stop buying dvd's....
PZelda 07-09-2006, 10:59 AM I have one tower and one shelf...I have a DVD tower, and the other one can be used for CDs/VHS/DVDs. I filled up the DVD tower and I've filled up 1/2 of the media shelf already. I'm going to get a nicer shelf soon, hopefully.
troopoleon8897 07-09-2006, 11:08 AM I have two Bookcases that hold all my dvd's and packages...
I used to put them in cd/dvd type binders but I ran out of space, I had 1 208 case and 2 128 cases and I filled all three (464 dvds) and I had more stuff so I just gor rid of them and decide to put them in there original cases...I only had them in the binders because I liked to bring them over friends houses, however keeping them in alphabetical order...
Ant-Lox 07-09-2006, 11:59 AM Cool....I threw my cases out though...only for the movie dvds
PZelda 07-09-2006, 12:42 PM Yeah, I'm too much of a traditionalist to ditch my movie DVDs and store 'em in binders. But, if push comes to shove, I might do that. I would prefer to keep the sleeves though. I know they have binders where you can put the sleeve on one side and the disc(s) on the other side of the page...but these types don't hold a whole lot of discs.
Superstar 07-09-2006, 12:52 PM I have all my TV shows on 2 shelves, Friends takes up one entire shelf. However I'm out of space since I got Charmed season 7 so I'm going to need to find more room
troopoleon8897 07-09-2006, 01:13 PM Lol, I only kept my tv shows in binders, I don't have enough actual movies to have a binder lol, some of my tv dvds got scratched in the cases though, usually only double sided discs ... which at the time was oonly TBNS and Gilligan's Island...
PrettyinPink55 07-09-2006, 02:02 PM I keep all my DVDs on shelves, but I'm running out of shelf space!!!
moeee 07-09-2006, 04:15 PM Most of mine are in storage bins.
freshprinceofLA 07-09-2006, 05:55 PM i have this tv stand that has a pretty medium sized shelf under it. i've had to arrange the dvds in lots of different ways to make room. i need more space!!:talk:
WalrusIsPaul 07-10-2006, 11:58 PM ive got over 6000 vhs tapes, stacked and stored somewhere ,with some in just about everyroom, dvds are all in the living rooms, about 300 ,as i just started collecting dvds,,we are moving next month and the wife has asked, well ok TOLD me to pack them up now,lol the dvds are on bookshelves
Brieannas21 07-11-2006, 12:49 AM I have DVD binders that I keep them all in, each binder holds 80 dvd's.
dawsongirl 07-11-2006, 03:33 PM I have a DVD cabinet that I originally bought to store my homemade DVDs. However, there got to be wayyyyyy too many of those, so I moved those to the bookshelf I had the TV DVDs on, and put the TV DVDs in the cabinet. I still have room for a few. Not my entire wish list....but some.
bencasey 07-11-2006, 03:53 PM Binders are horrible for storage as the DVDs are being scratched every time you take them out or put them in. Jewel cases are the only proper storage.
wise3 07-11-2006, 09:43 PM I keep mine in paper sleeves in storage boxes from Staples -- much like shoe boxes, with a movable rear support brace. 25 boxes so far. Retail discs are still in their own cases, so far.
ky24943 07-12-2006, 05:13 PM I store mine in a shelf in order by the year the series premiered on TV
