I wish I had seen yesterday's episode, but I very very rarely ever watch daytime t.v. I only tuned in this morning to see what ELSE was gonna happen.

It was only Babs talking to the camera...She was very serious. When she stopped speaking the camera did a pan of the three at the table and went to a commercial, with the audience applauding (on cue of course)...but it kinda was weird seeing the show start out this way.

I saw an ad for Entertainment Tonight and the story got the most mention. I'd be shocked if Inside Edition, Access Hollywood, and The Insider did NOT cover it. It's a huge story.

The View does decent in the ratings. I think it beats TPIR...I know for a fact it beats it by a lot here in NY.

The situation is a mess, Star just up and said she was leaving. She called Ryan Seacrest on his radio show and she claimed Barbara and the producer asked her to stay on until the July 13 because they didn't want to leave the show without a fourth anchor, but she was notified later she wouldn't be back at all. So both sides are telling different stories about this.

STAR JONES REYNOLDS made it official on "The View" Tuesday, telling the audience that she wouldn't be returning for a tenth season.

This morning, Star told RYAN SEACREST in a radio interview on KIIS-FM that following her announcement yesterday, she was asked by the ABC network not to return to the show today (she was scheduled to stay on until July 13).

Star revealed that she just wanted to be honest with viewers about the fact that her contract was not renewed for a tenth season: "I simply told what happened," which included her telling People magazine that she felt like she'd been fired.

In response to Star's comments, BARBARA WALTERS told The Associated Press that she felt betrayed by Star's words and her surprise announcement on yesterday's broadcast: "I love Star and I was trying to do everything I possibly could ... up until this morning when I was betrayed ... to protect her," she revealed Tuesday.

This morning on "The View," Walters, sitting with JOY BEHAR and ELISABETH HASSELBECK, addressed the situation, opening the show with, "And then there were three."

Walters explained that it was a "difficult" day for all of them, and that following Star's surprise announcement yesterday, she wouldn't be back. Walters went on to explain that Star knew for months that her contract wouldn't be renewed for a "variety of reasons," and that they wanted to give her the chance to exit the show gracefully.

Star released the following statement to ET Tuesday, saying, "I've spent an amazing nine years as a part of 'The View' family, and they have been the most professionally and personally rewarding years of my life. Through it all, I have appreciated the support of my family, my friends and most importantly the viewers, and I am incredibly grateful for all of the love that has been shown to me. 'The View' is now moving in a new direction, and I will not be returning this fall -- but, wherever I go, I will carry a lifetime of memories with me. Thank you all so much for your invaluable love and support."

ET broke the news several weeks ago that Star was reportedly shopping around a new talk show, shortly after the news broke that ROSIE O'DONNELL would be joining "The View" this fall.

MEREDITH VIEIRA has left "The View" and will take KATIE COURIC's place as co-host of "Today" starting in September.

Ok, right now Larry is telling her how she already had gone to PEOPLE magazine with an interview, stories, pics, etc. She did. I seen the magazine today. She makes it sound like it was suddenly the night before. She was going to get a GOODBYE show on Thursday...so why not wait til that day to say her "peace"? She didn't lie, she wrote a book about it, and I believe that she does watch what she eats now and excersie. What's the lie? She didn't say that she didn't have surgery.

I was Fliping The Channel's This Morning and I put it on WGNO ABC 26 and I saw a Little of The View and Star Jones was on This Morning episode so I dont know if The View was a Repeat or did The View Decided to show some Stuff that was Recored.

Please see below a statement released today from ABC Daytime President, Brian Frons, regarding the departure of Star Jones from “The View:”


"This has been one of many changes that have been made over the show's years with our hosts. The decision to end our working relationship with Star was a difficult one and made with great thought. The network and the show's producers attempted to be compassionate towards Star in the timing and handling of this announcement. It is never our practice to initiate public discussions about private business matters but given what happened on air Tuesday and in learning of the PEOPLE magazine interview, we felt we had to. It has been a difficult week for everyone but we don't want any of that to take away from the fact that we greatly value Star's contributions to the show over many years. She is a talented, professional woman and we wish her the best going forward."

I was stunned to see CNN repeating the Star interview this morning. I mean, this is CNN not UPN! It was funny that they put it up against The View on most markets (mine included). But I just don't understand CNN's need for ratings.

Larry King's post-View interview with Star Jones averaged almost 3 million viewers last night, giving CNN a rare win over Fox News in both total viewers and the 25-54 demo.

From 9 to 10pm, King averaged 935,000 demo viewers and 2,984,000 total viewers, tripling his usual nightly numbers. CNN averaged 530,000 demo and 1,600,000 viewers in primetime last night.

he's alleged to be gay, many gay men say he has visited their "clubs" and dated guys...there was an interview with a club member who states that he is a regular at one of those places, and he only married Star so people wouldn't think he was gay. He also went to a gay halloween party dressed as:
a male stripper. Just search the net. it isn't far-fetched, remember last year the author of HOW STELLA GOT HER GROOVE BACK had a nasty divorce after he husband "finally came out".

I haven't heard that and the gay stripper part doesn't sound believable. I've gone to gay clubs and it doesn't make me gay. When I was in college a friend (who's gay) and I shared an apartment together and that doesn't make me gay.
