View Full Version : Comcast is trying to rip me off

I ordered Comcast. I asked if theres any other costs. "No"

Activation day:
Technician activated my apartment. 1 outlet was activated but 2 others didn't activate. Technician said it's $15 to activate each additional outlet if the outlets don't automatically activate with the 1st outlet. I wasn't told this when I ordered(for 3 outlets).
I called comcast and they said: the $15 is for the time it takes the technician, but if he has time on his schedule, I won't be charged. Without asking, the tech activated outlets 2 and 3(took 7 minutes). He also called someone about it.

5 days later: the $30 charge is on my bill

note: I talked with 3 concast people, total - none mentioned that I'll be charged $15 for additional outlets.

Any advice??

I would get on the phone quick with a supervisor. Or tell them you want to cancel and I bet they would DO EVERYTHING TO KEEP YOU AS A CUSTOMER...

I called and asked for a supervisor. She was hesitant; asking what the issue is. So I told her. I also mentioned that the technition wrote on the work order: "Activated 2 a/o(additional outlets?) @ no chg. per customer service, According to Customer? Dispatch Said No"
She told me to fax that paper to them, and I'll be contacted within 10 days.
I also faxed them all the other details, including that $80 is too much for the 1st month of a special.
Should I just wait?

I think there is always an initial FEE when you first subscribe because how would Comcast make any money?-lol Like when I sign up for MSNTV2, I'm charged right away because that's the Initial Charge

I didn't pay anything when I got my Time Warner Cable hooked up. I had to pay the first month in advance, but no installation charge or anything.

One of my local news station did a report about comcast and they were talking about how they false advertise.

Well, it took 3 calls over 3 weeks for them to remove the $30.

Another irritation: I went online to pay the bill, and saw that the amount owed was HIGHER, not lower. I called them and the person had a really complex way of explaining that: next month's payment was added to the amount (even though my 2nd month hasn't started yet.)

Yeah that happened to me also, I don't know why they do that. that's why I changed to Directv, to many headaches from comcast.

I had Comcast when they first started On Demand, I had it and never watched it. Like I said in the last Comcast thread, I don't miss what I didn't watch. So I could care less about the On Demand feature.

Yea but On-Demand has a lot more then just tv shows. They have movies, Sports features ( a lot of the regular channels put their shows up there ), they have exercise videos, on-line dating. Their's something for everyone over there and most of them are free if you get digital cable.
