View Full Version : What do you think happens when you die?
Janice Johnson 06-27-2006, 08:35 AM When people get killed, where do you think their souls go? Do they go "rest" in the graveyards, until judgement day comes, do they go straight to heaven or hell right after dying, or do they keep starting their lives over as other humans/animals, which is how people get the expression, "Past lives"? Hmm.
Nighthawk76 06-27-2006, 10:36 AM I'm not sure. I was always taught that when a person dies that they go to heaven. So that is what I believe.
Hollow 06-27-2006, 11:35 AM whether their spirits live on in heaven or hell or earth or another body or some other universe, they live on somewhere.
Sharop 06-27-2006, 01:11 PM I think once someone dies, they have the ability to quickly and easily create their own surroundings and circumstances. That's what God said in the Conversations With God books, anyway. He also said that we have this ability now, it's just that many of us aren't aware of it.
Jo_Luvs_Ketchup 06-27-2006, 02:05 PM You get buried.
 Sorry, a Golden Girls moment. lol. Anyway, I believe my soul will go to heaven and I will stay there for eternity with my family.
As long as in the next 50 year I don't kill anyone!! *Prays*

So, are we talking about murder victims, or just normal dying of diseases or old age? Not that it matters, but you said it like people who get murdered are as bad as the people who killed them, with that whole judgment stuff.
People's souls live on in the people who knew them, or in the case of the more famous, people who knew of them. Other than that, you get buried or cremated and that's it.
Sharop 06-27-2006, 04:27 PM I've said this before, but the first thing I'm going to do when I die is go to the cinema and watch Back to the Future.
Mr. Stefani 06-27-2006, 04:32 PM I think your life is over once you're dead, I dont believe in the soul leaving the body and after life theories. Live your life wisely.
EmoJoe 06-27-2006, 04:44 PM i think you go to heaven.
Cactus Jack 06-27-2006, 05:05 PM i think you go to heaven.
Same
MaydayMalonesGirl 06-27-2006, 05:07 PM I don't believe in the afterlife. I think that once you die it's just over.
Fleet 06-27-2006, 05:32 PM I've read a lot on this subject because I find it very interesting. From what I've read and by the experiences of thousands (not just 5 or 10) people, what happens is:
- The soul leaves the body
- The soul enters the afterlife (heaven)
- The soul experiences a "review" of its life- everything from birth to death
- The soul encounters and greets relatives and friends it knew on Earth and in Heaven before its life on Earth
- The soul resumes the life it had in heaven (the afterlife is our real home, not Earth)
I never have believed that once someone dies, that's it. What about a baby who only live for 2 weeks... that's it? An 80-year-old is allowed to live a full life, marry, have children and grandchilden and someone else lives only 2 weeks and is non-existent after that? Doesn't make sense.
Dutabi84 06-27-2006, 06:04 PM I'm pretty sure nothing happens when you die. Cause you're dead. I dont believe in ghosts.

Not to turn this into a huge debate or anything, but what doesn't make sense about it? Seems pretty simple to me.

I think what Fleet may mean is that the concept is simple, but that it isn't feasible to him. Living and dying is simple enough, but the idea that someone's life can end after only a couple of weeks, whereas someone else can live to 80, just doesn't fit in with Fleet's beliefs, so therefore it doesn't make sense to him. At least, I think that's what Fleet meant.
God says in the Conversations With God books that there's no such place as Hell. We all create our own cirumstances/surroundings after we die.

Those in the afterlife are not ghosts. Ghosts are souls who are for some reason in a zone or limbo between Earth and Heaven.
As Sharop said, what I meant was if there is no afterlife, why is someone able to live a full, long life and someone else lives only a few weeks?

You just need to learn to control your temper, young lady. :nonono:

Well, there could be any number of reasons for that. Life-ending diseases, injuries, accidents, murder, or whathaveyou, can result in one not being able to live a long life.
Brad Russ 06-27-2006, 10:48 PM Here's what I believe:
John 3:16 - For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him, shal not perish but have everlasting life.

But in the afterlife, souls still live. Even if they live for 3 days, the soul survives.
If, as some believe, existence ends at death, some people get to enjoy a long life and some don't. It just doesn't seem that our creator would plan that way... some get to live and some don't.

Well let's be fair Fleet. None of us know what happens in the afterlife. All we can do is have faith.:)

That's what I believe. I actually already planned mine actually. Let me know what you think:
-Born in Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada on July 3, 1978
-Move to Queens, New York shortly after birth (Long island City)
-I have a brother who is 5 years older
-My uncle is wrestler Shawn Michaels
-I'm a mulatto
-I'm an avid fan of the Knicks(favorite player is Net Drazen Petrovic), Rangers, and Yankees
-My mother dies when I'm 14 months old from cancer
-My father is killed in a hit and run when I'm 3
-I become friends with Ron Artest(he's also from Long Island City)
-From the day I start school, I'm a troublemaker
-I always go to Wrestlemania
-I get arrested for the first time when I'm 10
-I get arrested 8 more times between that and age 12
-I'm 6'5" at 13 and finish at 6'7"
-I act in a school play and a teacher knows someone in California who can get me to try out for the role of Cody on Step by Step in an effort to save my life
-The last time I get arrested is the morning of the Crown Heights riot in Brooklyn
-In May, I leave for California and do not have to return to school
-In August, I find out I got the role and from that moment on, I never get into trouble
-As a star, I meet famous people, mainly athletes and wrestlers
-I marry Christine Lakin and I live happily ever after
Fleet 06-28-2006, 12:43 AM Well let's be fair Fleet. None of us know what happens in the afterlife. All we can do is have faith.:)
Yes, but I am basing much of what I post on people (even children) who have been hypnotized. They reveal in great detail the afterlife. There are even cases in which someone can say a secret word or phrase which no one else except some distant relative knows and when the relative hears that this person said the word, he or she is shocked.
There are also cases of those rushed to a hospital emergency room clinically dead who can repeat what was being said in the emergency room. Because, according to them, their spirit was still in the room and could hear and see perfectly.
dawsongirl 06-28-2006, 02:52 AM It just doesn't seem that our creator would plan that way... some get to live and some don't.
It's just all part of God's plan and we as mere mortals are not supposed to understand it, even if it makes us angry or melancholy. If you do try, you end up with a big giant headache and no solution. No, it doesn't seem fair, but unfortunately there's nothing we can do.
Sharop 06-28-2006, 04:54 AM That's what I believe. I actually already planned mine actually. Let me know what you think:
That seems fine.
I'm working on becoming friends with someone...I'm asking for God's help, because it's extremely difficult.

In terms of what I believe regarding this, Fleet, I'd say my beliefs come closest to yours.
G-Force Glockstar 06-28-2006, 08:43 AM Either heaven or hell
Fleet 06-28-2006, 03:35 PM In terms of what I believe regarding this, Fleet, I'd say my beliefs come closest to yours.
It does give one peace of mind when you believe that your real home is not Earth but in a much better place... no crime, no sadness, no jealousy, no taxes, no death (and in my case, no earthquakes and no dental problems).
I feel sorry for those who think that death means the end of everything. When their times comes, they will be very afraid, maybe even terrified of dying, while those who believe in the afterlife will not.
In one of the books I read, someone who had an NDE (near death experience) asked a spirit on the other side, "What is it like to be dead." The spirit replied, "You are the one who is dead." Kind of makes you think. ;)

Yes, I know we are not supposed to understand God's plan. I was referring to the subject of life ending when a person dies and the soul does not continue.
He would not plan it that someone lives to 80 years old and someone else lives only 2 weeks without an afterlife.
