View Full Version : Music from What's Happening
which_doobie_you_be 05-16-2006, 07:15 PM I would *love* to find out where I can get a copy of the music that plays during various What's Happening episodes (you know, that same song that rerun always plays when he dances, the music the "rockets" dance to, the music from "disco dollar disaster", etc.). Does anyone know where/how I can get a copy of it?
retrochick9 05-17-2006, 09:41 AM Aren't they supposed to list the music in the closing credits?
Brian Damage 05-17-2006, 09:50 AM Henry Mancini did the music for the opening theme. That much I know.
TVFactFan 05-17-2006, 10:43 AM I want to know what the song is from the ep in season 3 everytime the window slammed down or the door was slammed the record player came one and that same song was on that rerun danced to
GSU2004 05-18-2006, 01:38 PM I like the interlude music from the episode where Raj writes a script for Central Avenue in season 1.
CWDogg 05-23-2006, 04:08 AM The song from the episode where the window was coming down is " Get Up Get Down Get Funky Get Loose" by Teddy Pendergrass.
I'm sure you could download it.

Oh yeah, this is true as well...
I have Teddy's Greatest Hits Anthology set on CD's, and this is one of the songs that is on it. I didn't think about it or quite match it to Rerun's dance theme song, but hell yeah it certainly IS!!
Good find and point made, CW!! Thanx much!!

LivinLaarge 06-04-2006, 11:12 AM I dont like the theme to whats happinin.. kind of corney to me.
CindyRoxiesLair2006 06-04-2006, 11:36 AM I agree in the fact that the overall THEME song could've been put to something else, other than that Henry Mancini composition...
The theme for WH could've been a little more upbeat and indicative of the time period in which it was popular (i.e.: themed to a disco-style or even with an R&B touch, or other). :happyface
Anyway, it's all good, no matter what... :happyface
Tap Dancer 04-25-2007, 02:32 PM I like the theme music.
GeorgeWBushGOP 05-15-2007, 03:41 PM It was probably just some canned music they used..generic type..

Ireneparalegal 07-25-2008, 06:04 PM I like the interlude music from the episode where Raj writes a script for Central Avenue in season 1.
 Isn't that the same music they used when the boys went to visit Raj's mother's boss, while they were playing poker?
If so, that was weird, cheap music.

Did he really? Wow, that's cool! I haven't seen WH in AGES so I looked it up on Youtube. God, that theme music brings back memories. I used to really like that show!

which_doobie_you_be 08-27-2008, 10:32 PM Wow, I just checked and i originally posted this message over 2 years ago. First off, I'm totally shocked that so many people don't like the intro music to the show. I think it's one of the coolest, most identifiable intros ever.
I saw the comments about the season 3 episode where the picture falls and the record starts playing -- but here's an example of what I'm REALLY looking for:
Season 2, Episode 1: Rerun Gets Married. Cool enough that it has Irene Cara, but the song that Rerun and that very cute girl dance to at Raj's surprise party -- that's exactly what I'd love to find.
The search continues =^) ...
p.s. It's funny, watch for Rerun at the end of the dance trying to elicit more applause from the 'kids' on the set. The ego on that guy!
Simplyh323h 04-25-2018, 08:38 AM Anyone know the name of the track/song that disco dances out to when he registers for the dance competition??

This! I've been looking for this song for years!! They play such a short snippet but it sounds so funk-alicious😎
