It will probably depend on ratings or how much it costs to make. It could also depend on the producers/writers/actors if they decide they've had enough.

I think it is stupid to have a series finale and then to just bring the show back. At least it will deal with the cliff hanger. Now we get to watch everyone raising twins. It will always be the same plot going on with three different groups of people. I can't see how it won't be extremly boring. The kids have grown up too much for the show to be interesting.

It probably depends on the actors if anything...money shouldn't be a problem if the whole cast isn't coming back...which they didn't say they all were. Most of them should, but imagine playing the same character for 11 years, I'm surprised most of them agreed to be honest. I think the 13 episodes will be to wrap up the storylines correctly. I think they thought they were rushed too.
