Someone came to me on the side- and discussed the dreaded "sale option"
You all know the speech.
Don't sell, it isn't good..it leads to trouble
Ok-
Let's move on.
One of the reasons Sitcoms doesn't allow, or promote selling is for safety- as copyright laws differ, as well as IRS, as well as all around, selling makes things complicated.
But, I would like to give an example of something for consideration.
2 years ago there was a UK gentleman.
His name was Marc.
Marc popped up on various sites, here included- and Marc decided to BUY sets.
He was from England and was not able to get current shows.
He wanted such shows as Drew Carey, and Law and Order
I believe Lone Gunman and Gilmore Girls.
SO marc decided to BUY- and several people hopped on that wagon.
They go this name, his address and decided since he was paying they were safe.
And since he paid by Paypal (He prefered it actually)
All the more better and safer.
Months went by, packages were sent out.
Over 30 total from 11 different traders/now sellers.
And the pacakges, were paid for shipping included.
Everyone was happy.
And then People started getting emails from Paypal.
Apparently, Marc had a few Paypal addresses, and was claiming he never received anything.
Simple enough right?
Just show the postal receipt that it was sent?
Wrong.
Paypal refunded all funds.
Every single transaction for
Lack of delivery confirmation.
Every single transaction.
If you read under their rules as a seller, and this is tiny tiny tiny paragraphing.
As a seller and the buyer protection terms.
YOU as a seller are responsible to show proof.
Well anyone whom has shipped to the UK knows, PROOF for that is about 16?19 dollars.
Marc wasn't paying for that- no one thought about it.
Now as opsts started coming up on various sites, I helped them organize their issues, and transactions and I took the time to call Paypal, which is incredible painful and time consuming.
Made mention of various facts such as multiple accounts-
the coincedence that not ONE? package arrived.
And scans of various customs papers.
EVEN SO
although marcs accounts in the next 2 weeks were deleted-
All funds were refunded.
Have they changed their policy?
I don't know. I have used them 2x in the last year for minor things.
But if your going to supply them your business, I point it out for debate.
We don't condone or endorse selling or buying- this is a trade site.
But I do believe in bringing up facts as I know that it does occure.
And I know of lately, I have seen quite a few offers to "buy"
No, not all peopel are scammers who want to buy.
NO, not all UK or foreign traders are bad people.
This was one highlited incident.
But things can repeat themselves.
Delivery Confirmation in the US to US average .55 cents per package.
