The reason why I asked because I was watching "Television in Black...the first 50 years" on Black Starz movie channel today. Marla Gibbs was talking about the Jeffersons and how she was just a guest star at first, and when she asked that line, it generated a huge laugh from the studio audience, which it did, and they decided to bring her back as a regular. Your opinion, please?

It's funny now as an adult but when I was teenager I didn't undrstand the humor in the line. Still not belly aching funny but was laugh out funny.

Its probably her most famous line on the show. I laugh everytime I hear it.

I thought she was belly aching funny when she mixed it up with George...sometimes. Sometimes when she mixed it up with him she was laugh out loud funny.
