Janice Johnson 04-08-2006, 04:48 PM Are there words you thought were good things or compliments, then found out that they were bad things or insults? I have one. The word "decadent". I thought that decadent was a good thing, then I found out that decadent means terrible. The word sounds like a good thing........... Like if someone said, "This cake is decadent, I would have thought they meant the cake was delicious. Or if someone said, "Your behavior at the restaurant was decadent", "I would have said, "Thank you." :o :eek:
